welcome aboard! LOL....it gets better. The shakes were hard for me too, I can't stand the way they taste, but stick to it.....it's worth it. Specially when you see how much you lost even before the surgery. Keep up the good work.

Hey Sunny, don't be so down on yourself....you'll get there. I have been banded since May 2008. Everyone is different, but BG is right. your not restricted enough. Sometimes it takes a few times to find the right filling. They'll find it and when they do you'll be even sunnier than you've ever been!!!!! Keep up the good habits and give your self a break. Good luck!!!!

Well alright then protech!!! He sounds like a jackaz anyway's. Sounds like you lost more than just 13 kilos more like you lost tons of crap. You keep up the good job, and enjoy the new body with a new man. LOL -
Wow!!! That's great Pete. Keep it up. Anything good always takes hard work, but that's what makes it so Great! Best of luck to you. A good way to get some protein is makes your own shakes. I use powdered protein, ice strawberries a little bananas, a lil 2% milk, add 1 splenda and put it in a blender. I use v-60 vanilla protein. It taste like a regular strawberry shake, and it's great for a sweet attack.....lol

4 days post-op, why does it feel like it's been so much longer?
Gretch commented on christymarie's blog entry in Blog 46469
LMAO! Your right it will get better....and when you keep seeing that weight come off, you'll laugh about the couple of weeks after....it sucks, but well worth it. I remember that feeling, but I don't mind now...specially when I'm finally getting into a pair of size 6 jeans. I wish the best for you and enjoy the journey...even the little bumps in the road. -
Shelly, That's GREAT!!!! I don't know you, but I'm proud of you. You'll do fine on op day. And that's the best way to start your new journey....loving yourself and putting yourself first for once. It's never the destination that is so wonderful, but the journey there. So, remember to slow down and enjoy the ride. Life is so much better when you can appreciate it. I wish the very best for you and by the way it was probably both....your grandmother and you loving yourself.

Welcome aboard real! The liquid diet is important for your pre-op, because it makes it easier for your doctor to get to everything and it makes your liver shrink for that short time.(easier surgery) You'll make it as you go further in your journey.....you will make behaivor modifactions.....you have no choice. For me it was well worth the sacrifices and I wish you all the luck in the world. Congrats!!!!!!

Hey Guy's, Thanks for the welcoming. Kristina your husband is right you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Your doing great:thumbup:. You've had a few bumbs in the road, but it seems your getting back on track. Your body needs time to adjust to everything and that goal weight will get closer and closer. Keep doing what your doing and stay positive........it will come. When you get your fill, stay a litlle longer and drink more of your water they give you to see if it is going down ok. If it does you know your not to tight. Make sure you get your protein and for me it's hard to get down veggies, so I drink v8 juice. you'll learn how to munipulate your diet for your band and still get the nutrition you need. I hope this help's.

Try Protein shakes. That works for me and I usualy can't stand them. I use v-60 vanilla (to me the choclate is gross) I add ice, stawberries and bannanas, protein powder a little no fat or 2% milk and a splenda...mix it together in a blender and your good to go. It taste like a strawberry shake.....I love em. I hope that helps:thumbup:

You found your sweet spot?!! How much can you eat??
Gretch replied to MeganMatters's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you go in for your fill they should be able to tell on the screen how quickly your liquid is going through and how tight the band is. I just got a fill yesterday and stayed in the office for an hour after my fill to get it right. I always tell the nurse before my fill I would like it tight enough, so I can be on a liquid diet for atleast a week. (protein shakes, cream of chicken soups, V8 juice) That seems to work for me. Everyone is different.....I couldn't get a peice of bread down to save my life. Good luck and I hope you get it resolved soon.
