I had my surgery 1/22/18 - so Monday is 2 weeks for me. I lost quite a bit the first week and only 3 lbs so far this week. My first week was clear liquids and I'm on smooth liquids now. I've also had issues with going to bathroom (not going - now it seems I'm ok) and I am very cold all the time (used to be hot all the time). I continue smooth liquids for 3 weeks

I do feel better each day. I'm able to get protein shake in , decaf tea, moving better. Still get the rumbling. I've also started my vitamins. Hope you are well

I also went the 22nd. I'm home. Got home Around 4 yesterday. I'm here alone and pretty sore. I'm having trouble with water and this swirling thing that happens in my abdomen (don't know how to describe it). I'm scared to take the Percocet prescribed for fear of nausea. I'm starting to sip a protein shake. I'm on clear liquids 1 week the. Regular liquids for. 4. How are you feeling. Sorry sounds like a ramble Tara

Gallbladder removed during surgery
Tara201 replied to Gotalose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did have my gall bladder out. It doesn't require an overnight stay. Not around here anyway. Recovery is similar. I had a lapband in 2010 and the recovery was similar maybe a little easier than the lapband. -
me too

I emailed and friend requested Thanks Tara

Pre-op Diet? Anyone else not on one ?
-
I'd like some advice... My doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet. But I'm on a clear liquid 2 weeks following then liquid for 4 weeks. Total of 6 weeks liquid. When on clear liquids what did you all drink? Any suggestions for proteins and clear liquids. I think I need to order some things. I'm pretty much going to be on my own. Any suggestions appreciated. Also, vitamins? which ones did you all like?

So we are really in the same boat. My dr. did not require a pre surgery diet. He didn't for the lapband either and I did great for many years. I need to order some protein drinks and things for after surgery. It's been postponed on me twice.

I am scheduled for January 22. I had a lapband removed July 10, 2017

August Rush in bandland!
Tara201 replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well Here I am...checking in after 1 year....from surgery date, I am down 85 pounds. I haven't lost much this summer...I need to be really honest. I am 15 pounds shy of my one year goal....The reason? well I know the reason. I guess the truth is I haven't been back here posting in awhile. I thouroughly enjoy my life now. I don't "diet" I do rely on my band and eat whatever I want, in small portions and I guess it's not enough to LOSE right now. I will also be honest and say that although I move a TON more, I do not "exercise" I know, I know....I need to make some serious changes to get back on the losing band wagon. I'm comfortable at my size 14 and Large or XL tops....I look like a different person and feel like a different person. I feel "normal" But I have bigger goals for myself and I need to start working again. I'm back....and hope to post and read more regularly to keep this on my mind Thanks for listening. How is everyone else doing? Tara -
Down from an 8 to 7.5 after approx 75 lbs... but here's the worst part. I also "shrunk" 1/2 an inch....anybody else get shorter? did I have fat on the soles of my feet? Crazy....but truth is I always "was" 5' 1 1/2" only went up to exactly 5'2' after gaining a lot of weight as an adult.... oh well I'll take it Tara

no special diet required
Tara201 replied to options123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Don't worry. My dr. didn't require any pre-op diet. Just stop eating and drinking by midnight. I'm almost 8 months since surgery. Down 75+ lbs. He did put me on a liquid diet for the month following surgery. Up until my first fill at 6 weeks. I guess that was to get me through bandster hell and to continue losing. Good luck and don't worry -Tara -
Port pain 4 1/2 months after surgery
Tara201 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all... I've been searching around internet for info and figured why not just put this out there for some feedback Had surgery aug 30...all going fairly well Every so often if I move in my sleep a funny way or twist a funny way or do something strenuous I get pain in my port. Sometimes I turn over in the night and feel this twisting like someone yanked my port... Anyway had that 2 nights ago and maybe a little last night. Today I have pain if I bend over...it's not red or anything like that. It's not a burning pain. I took tylenol and put an icepack on it. Any ideas? does this happen to anyone else? maybe I slept crazy I woke up with a stiff neck too....I'm also a little gasey (i know tmi). The pain is on my left side right below my rib right near my port. If I lay still it doesn't hurt... Guess just like to hear any thoughts Thanks for reading tara -
