Hi You could possibly use the natural sweetener Stevia to sweeten up yougurt and add some fresh berries, blend it up in a blender or not... Stevia has practically no calories and i don't think it triggers any sugar cravings but i would have to research it. It never has for me anyway....

Hi there, We don't use Nutrasweet, because of the health issues with it... We sweeten with powdered Stevia, which is all natural, no calories, and supersweet. It is great to use in cold/room temp things for sweetening. You can get drops or powder online at Vitamin shoppe & ect. or at your local health food store. Just buy a small one as a little goes a long long way. You just add this to the plain fat free yougurt to taste. Just a very little bit is needed to sweeten whatever.... We also add it to fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice ; it makes a great concentrate added to Water for a no calorie drink. Hope this is a help to you!

Hi There! I am hoping to get banded soon, but have tried several different Protein powders for fitness and diets. I really like ON (Optimum Nutrition} Gold Standard whey powder. Double chocolate, Chocolate Mint, Strawberry- Bananna, and even Egg Nog(with frozen bananna) was very tasty. I will actually have these for desert, instead of ice cream or other garbage.... Vitamin Shoppe Online usually has some great sales on this brand. I like to add frozen Banannas, Strawberries, Blueberries, Ice Cubes, anything frozen and blend it up in my blender. I also occasionally will use NOW brand whey powder, as it has the natural sweetener Stevia as it's sweetening agent, which my husband likes. I just bought 2 lbs of Now Plain Whey Powder (from Vitamin Shoppe for 19.99) and it tastes exactly like Malted Milk powder and it is very fresh! So that was a nice surprise.... Anyway Hope this helps!

Down 51 lbs., took new photo...disappointed!
laurieanns replied to Cheryl Ann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
you look great! How tall are you because the 51 pounds makes you look totally different! Ten pounds a month is a healthy rate at which to lose weight, and if you lose it like this you are more likely to keep it off! Great Job and i can really see the difference! -

For the woman who has the cyst, I too have a baker's cyst and tore my ACL.... are you going for physical therapy. I am doing some of the exercises they recommended on the machines at Bally's and now up to walking 45-60 minutes{on the treadmill at 2.5 Only} It has been a very slow and painful recovery process but i am thankful to God that i can do what i can do, if you know what i mean....Hang in there, it takes a long time but with strengthening the muscles around the knee and just working it ... ohyeah and plenty of BenGay! it will get better!!

1 Year Post Op and ONLY 27 lbs down!!!!!
laurieanns replied to Tigger_Shorty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might want to see an endocrinologist ,a doctor that diagnoses hypo/slow thyroid on symptoms as well as on blood work... Mary Shoman has a great book on thyroid and a website ,thyroid.com, i think it is called. Her website has links to recommended doctors on it too. I was diagnosed with a slow thyroid a year ago and since taking the medication [armour thyroid] feel a million times better; did not lose alot of weight but i notice that my metabolism is working now. Before i was on a strict diet and working out hard with weight training and cardio 6 days a week with very limited results. I plateau-ed about 29 pounds down and stayed there for months and months. Now i notice that i can eat more and get more results with less. I would say to definitely go and see a Endocrine Specialist; that could very well be the problem. Laurie -
I am wondering if anyone out there has had this band and what are the pros and cons ? Thanks, Laurie

Hi there! I would just like to recommend the " Body Sculpting bible for women" I have been doing this routine on and off for a couple of years and have dropped alot of inches and some weight. I am still to heavy though and am going through the process of getting a band right now. The book is on clearance at amazon for like 50 cents right now[because the newer version includes a dvd] It is like having a personal trainer without spending all the $$. He has included a at home w/weights workout as well as one you can do at the gym. I personally workout at Bally's and think it is totally worth the money. One question, will i have as much energy eating so much less?? Thanks for reading L.
