Thanks Elisabeth. Happy labor day to you too!

I think I'm experiencing something similar too! My restriction has always been all over the place...one day loose the next a little tight. But, I haven't had a fill in about 2 months and lately it feels tighter to me too.

I was chicken...I didn't try red meat until just last week. (Banded almost 5 months.) I wanted to try a really tender cut so I chose filet mignon. (I know it has the most fat but that's why it's tender!) Anyway, it went well but I had to be really careful to chew, chew, chew. My point is...I agree with the others-I'd say it's too soon to try it. But, hang in there-you'll have it again soon!

Hey Bitter. I can totally relate to the steroids issue. I have terrible back problems and was on steroids for awhile and I gained so much weight so fast that before I realized it I had ballooned to almost 400! They help some people, but do terrible things to others! But, I've had tons of X-rays over the years and none of them ever hurt so I'm not thinking that a hip X-ray should be any big deal for you. Good luck!

I used chewable gas X. I think it helped a little but unfortunately I think it just takes time. The good news, it seems that most people seem to start feeling better within the first week post-op so hopefully you're almost done with it!

I have to admit, I feel badly too. He was corny and all but you have to respect someone who showed as much passion as he did. I honestly feel like I've learned stuff from him over the years. He was much too young but he made the most of his time here.

You might be interested in reading "Eating for Life". [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/explorer/0972018417/2/ref=pd_lpo_ase/002-8179998-7205644?ie=UTF8]http://www.amazon.com/gp/explorer/0972018417/2/ref=pd_lpo_ase/002-8179998-7205644?ie=UTF8[/ame] I use this book as part of my doctor's program. It was really informative and easy to read. It discusses portion sizes and general nutrition plus includes lots of recipes. I've lost over 100 pounds following this book!

Time becomes your friend with this problem. Sometimes I force myself to take a walk or move around a little, it seems to relieve the pressure for me. Or, maybe it just helps take my mind off of it. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else you can do. I wouldn't eat anything more until you feel better though. Sorry, that's the best advice I've got. Feel better!

I still get TOM every month so I can't really relate except to say that weight loss releases a lot of hormones that were stored in fat. This has caused all sorts of strange TOM stuff for me...Early/Late/Heavy/Light--the whole gammut! My guess is that your body is releasing hormones.

Hi Deana, I am supposed to do liquids for the day of the fill then progress to mushies the next day and if that goes well then I'm back to normal. Yes, I do believe you can get a false sense of extra restriction following a fill due to the swelling. For me, I felt really restricted for the first 3 days then it backed down quite a bit as my swelling went down. Good luck!
-
Oh yeah...TOM does a job on your body. I can "gain" 5 pounds but it's water and when TOM goes away so does the 5 pounds. I wouldn't worry about the gain until TOM passes.

Yeah, I would say this is normal. In fact, I didn't re-learn how to burp for approximately 2 months post-op. Discomfort when breathing in??? I don't know. It could just be swelling. If it's really bothersome or if you don't feel like you're getting enough air then call your doc. I didn't experience any breathing problems from surgery.

I'm in! I've got a Christmas challenge going as well so I need to keep my buns in gear! -
OK, OK, I know I posted the past 2 messages but...I was cleaning out my closet and I'm curious if anyone is interested in some 26/28 clothes. If you are, just PM me and I can tell you what I have. I'll pay for the shipping, I'd just be happy for someone to use them. (I would describe them as your basic Walmart sorta clothes. Nothing fancy, but there are some "business casual" things that I've worn to work.) If you're interested please let me know. I figured I'd offer before throwing this stuff away.

Here's our current Christmas Goal 2006 list. I'm keeping a spreadsheet so I don't lose anyone and I sorted it alphabetically so it looks a little different. Waterlily, you are so sweet. I love this thread too, thanks for starting it!! Elisabethsew and A1ikou-congratulations! welcome! yippee! indianlight, cool, I've added you to the list! I put down a 28lb goal but feel free to update that if you decide to change your goal. PS-What in the world is a "stone"?!! I hope everyone got through Ernesto OK. We've had a lot of tree damage and many businesses lost their billboards/signs but I think overall we faired OK. He packed a bigger punch than I think anyone expected...it was a little scary yesterday!

You rock! That's amazing, congratulations!~

Sure, I'm game! I am 291 right now. I need some extra motivation and $20 at Walmart could buy me a new shirt or two!!
-
Happy healing Lots! We wish you the best! Ralheit, thanks for sharing the update!

Hi Newbies! Lanie you had your first PB or Productive Burp! I don't think you hurt anything. You probably drank a little too fast or two big of a gulp. Just take things easy and you should be just fine! Mstrish I think you're right...pain meds can make your tummy upset. And "digestive issues" are pretty common for the newly banded. If it gets really bad then you may want to call your doctor. Happy healing and welcome!!
-
Cool! I'm really happy for you! Keep up the good work!

I think it's true...I had real problems with GERD pre-band but now it's completely gone. That really sucks for those who get it post-band. But, when I did have GERD, I never ate past 8PM or else I couldn't sleep. Just a thought.

Good job! I'm so proud of you! What a good day, huh?!
