Hi and welcome! Don't mind me, I'm actually quite friendly contrary to popular opinion. :frown: -
23 Days...packing list
El Diablo replied to gabi311b's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello fellow lucky loser! I am using the protein shakes right now but I plan to use the protein bullets post surgery in orange or grape flavor, I'm thinking it's gonna be difficult to drink 8 oz of milk with protein mix so the bullets will cut it down to a 1.5 or 3oz shot. -
Do you have panic attacks and are you on medication and is it working? panic attacks are debilitating and unnecessary. Stay on your doctor to change prescriptions until you find a medication that works, different things work well on different people. But I do know why you pose the question; feeling trapped, suffocated and worrying if the band will make you feel that way.

I'd do it. It's not rocket science, if you look at the complication threads in the fill area, the trained professionals can jack up a port or tubing just as easy. I submit that you would be even more careful since it's your own belly you're poking. I have thought about it myself, I'm not banded yet of course but I did think about it. The only reason I wouldn't is I wouldn't want to risk insurance turning me down to repair it if I did mess it up, but then again who can say who messed it up and when. For the average joe, maybe not the best idea but knowing what I know (former medic) I wouldn't hesitate at least to do an emergency unfill. And as far as getting the needles, you can buy them directly from the manufacturer, obviously the OP is not gonna buy them at a garage sale or off the street, so the safety/efficacy of the needles shouldn't be an issue.

I asked my RN insurance care coordinator when she called to tell me I was approved about Realize vs. Lap and she said, they don't care which model you get, they are paying for the procedure itself and makes no difference about which you choose. Also PCS is not a problem even if you go to an MTF that doesn't offer support for fills, all you will need is a new referal to a civilian doctor in the area that does it, in network of course is preferred.

OMG Beth! Millionaires? from what? picking vegetables and laying concrete? I gotta take a nap, you slay me.

Ok Beth, let's take it all the way then into where I'll be labeled as racist, I guess Blacks breaking into your house is ok. Don't they in fact populate the jails, welfare rolls and baby making more so by a factor of a trillion than mexicans? Our ship is sinking, absolutely. Your statement earlier how Mexicans can't or WON'T fix their problems themselves. How are we different, we wholesale farm out are jobs to 3rd world countries because businessmen are tired of dealing with the high cost of american labor. Certainly we can't or won't fix problems this way, 600,000 people laid off since January, but new american owned factories opening daily in labor cheap countries.

Aha, they can't. Surprisingly (to me anyway) there is quite a population of illegals here in Oregon, My wife sees them everyday, walking to WORK. They would love to join the Army and serve but they can't, no papers. Also, not just men please, women defend our freedom as well.
-
And more food for thought, what is prompting these people to cross the border, risk death by dehydration, starvation, overzealous anti-immigrants, etc. and for what? Jobs that pay cash only, no benefits that we enjoy because they are illegals, constantly living in fear of being deported. What jobs are they taking away from us? crappy ones that nobody here wants anyway. So to risk everything to come here speaks to how bad it is there.

And to continue I think people who abuse animals should be killed. I think in general people don't understand what Mexico is like, it is horrible. If any attention was paid to the conditions there by the media, people would rethink their position on the issue.

Just for the record so people know where I am coming from. I own a house in Texas, I'm in Oregon temporarily due to my wife's assignment here (U.S. Army Recruiter) I voted for Mr. Bush, I am a U.S. Army veteran(retired). I work occasionally as an Army contractor. I voted for Mr. McCain, I am a Republican, I believe "Slick Willy" was an embarrassment to this country, I think Osama is full of shit but I am looking to see his "Change" happen. I don't think anybody is more firmly to the "right" than me. I agree the liberal media spoon feeds pablum to the masses, I don't watch NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC news because I know exactly what they are selling. I believe in the death penalty. (There!, now that I've alienated the other 99% percent of people on the forum) however...... I have never worked with any class of people more hardworking than Mexicans. Yes, they load 20 of themselves in a van after work and pop the beers before they are out of the parking lot, but work they do. My wife deals with the gifted youth of America every day, pot smokin, can't pass an entrance exam but graduated high school punks who are happy with their skateboards and plan on living with mom and dad until they are 40. These immigrants aren't the problem, come one, come all I say, here's a job that the uppity Americans won't do. If we are going to target groups of people for deportation I can think of several more deserving.

lol, he's everywhere, he's everywhere!

Isn't it funny how you never hear or see headlines saying "illegal immigrant sodmizes 10 year old girl" or "illegal immigrant jailed for having sex with dog". No that's us good ole americans. Point of fact, they really don't cause too many problems, they are busy doing crap jobs and avoiding la migra.
-
NOTE: I AM NOT saying this just to argue with Beth but..... shoot em? mongrels? Are we all native americans here then? I'm not a supporter of illegal immigrants but they are still people with moms and dads and kids, not mongrels to be shot. If I was on the jury, I'd certainly vote to dismiss their lawsuit but let's not round em all up and shoot em eh hitler?

You are that important, don't belittle yourself. Maybe you should look in other threads for some positive stuff, but thank you for your support of me.

This just isn't right! NOT FAIR!

Another way to look at it is that he is your personal guinea pig. I think it would be nice to have someone I know and trust who has been there, done that. Support him now so he can support you later. -
I agree, I don't know why they are judgemental of me. I have ideas but some people dismiss my feelings out of hand but I don't hold it against them. Thank you for telling THEM to stop picking on me:crying:

Apparently I have that power over you, here you are taking the time to tell me how unimportant I am.

I will specifically look for your posts now and help out where I can.
