  1. I just found out my surgeon is out of network. He is 9900 and my insurace will only cover 50% of it. The hospital bills seperately and my doctor preforms at in network hospitals. So I am wondering how much people payed for the hospital part? I am thinking about stick with my out of network surgeon because 1) I love her and 2) I have already started six month diet with her. BTW the surgeon price includes all doctors necessary. Thanks for your guys help.

will be banded soon.. worried about failing

Thats because bread is awesome... when I am not on the scale atlease I am sorta in the same place as you on our journey except you are going to beat me because my insurance requires a six month dr monitored diet. I think it is normal to be nervous but I have yet to find anyone of the banders that are at goal saying that they would take back the weight even for a sandwich, soda, and all you can eat candy bar LOL we can do this Feel free to PM so we can support each other through this Ashley
  3. Im glad I didnt respond but I was watching to here LOL just so you know were all worried
  4. Good luck! I hope that you can keep you band but even if your heath requires it you look at how amazing you have done! I know that you can keep it off
  5. Hah! I sure hope those are thick walls This is going to sound crazy but does anyone worry about being constipated? My greatgranmother is 92 now but she is always in agony because she ate white bread all her life and struggled with constipation and now they cant even prescribe her enough pain meds I hope that the band doesnt cause me to have this problem... but if they band lets me live to be 92 I suppose the trade off will be worth it. (my grandma on the other side died at 56 )

I was never a soda person but the thought of not being able to tolerate bread scares me 8X LOL but think of how much better being heathier and looking better will be than soda or bread  LOL I wish I could keep up with my friends when they go running off way more than ever eating a sandwich again. Good luck

    Not losing weight

Thanks for all your help guys Turns out I have sleep apnea ... torn between ahppy because I can diet without worrying so much about getting approved (have about 40 pounds I could lose now) and giving myself a headstart. Sad because I have sleep apnea tho :w00t:

Have had up to 9cc's and no real difference

This has been a really encouraging thread for me to read :w00t: I am working on my 6th month diet to get approved by insurance and I have been stressed that with the new AP lapband many people have not been finding restriction im so glad that you found yours.
  12. My surgeon has a nutricionist on staff so she is going to do my 6 mth diet but I am worried because I am at 41.8 BMI only 7 pounds over 40 and if I lose to much weight will I be rejected by my insurance. I asked her if I should try not to lose more than 7 pounds and she laughed and said that if she told me to do that it would be insurance fraud. LOL I dont know what that means? I am talking about going down to Mexico, and I dont want to waste 6 mths if I am just going to get rejected anyways. I dont mind paying once but my fear is if I get it in Mexico and after I lose some weight the band slips. My insurance wouldnt cover rebanding right? I would just have to pay again right? Gah! Advice plz!

    Not losing weight

Ohh and on excercise, in high school I was on the swim team which meant 4 hours of practice 6 days a week. I still managed to be overweight ( LOL I must have eaten SOOOOO many calories) Backpacking through europe this summer I was super broke so it was easy to get my exercise in LOL like 12 hours a day running all over the place to see everything ( I did 22 countries in 3 months) I am also lucky enough to have roomates (now that i am in college) that drag my lazy butt to the gym everynight if my weight started seriously affecting my exercise it terrifies me how much weight I would gain  I wish I could swim at school but we dont have a pool big enough for laps (just one in the dorms for recreation) while I can get running and stairs in its kinda hard on my knees

    Not losing weight

Yay! LOL I am so excited for my consult on wednesday, I know that it is really not very far away but I am so excited its like a kid on christmas eve. Its theoretically my consult but I was only one of two at my seminar so I got to speak one on one with the doctor. She told me that we could start my 6 month diet weigh ins then also, though she didnt sound like she put to much faith in them. 6 months has never seemed so long to me My magic number was about 25, I got there 2x on weight watchers (around 16 weeks because I got both keychains at the same time both times) but then I would start gaining. I lost just over 35 pounds on Alli but ended up getting really sick backpacking through eastern europe and had to go off alli for the major antibiotics my doctor called in so that I didnt have to check my self into a hospital, grrr. I gained all but 5 of it back now

Thanks J! Your post is really encouraging  I really think that I can do this as I already exercise everyday and I feel that with the band as a tool to help me I will be able to make the right eating choices thankies
  16. I am considering the LB and my surgeon mentioned that I would probably have gas issues (she has it and says she farts alot). Anyone having gas problems?

    Advice on 6mth Diet

No I have sleep apnea but it isnt recorded with a doctor. I am soooo sad (this may sound counter intuitive but I have been working really hard these last few days to try and gain as much weight as possilbe) before my first weight in with doctor suprervised diet. I just weighed myself and I am down 1/2 a pound. LOL I can gain while following the weight watcher plan but manage to lose eating fried chicken and panda... grrrr I guess I could have not exercised LOL but I always go to the gym with my room mates I didnt want to skip out. Sigh perhaps if I continue to try and gain i can get all the way down to goal LOL not likely
