About Me
I had a Lap Band surgery, December 19, 2009. I lost 108 lbs with it but, I had 4 disc fused in my neck 2016 and I had a mini stroke and then I had problems swallowing and very bad reflex. My doctor took out my fluid from the band. 6 months later he put a small amount of fluid back in and I didn’t have much restrictions but, it caused pain in my chest plus, my insurance didn’t pay for the fill. I gained 20 lbs back 😢
Then I was having memories loss and my doctor had me tested and it showed possible Alzheimer’s. My doctor didn’t feel the diagnosis was right. He felt like it was stress and medication and he had me go off of the 200 mg of Topamax that I was on daily for migraines. After a few months my head cleared up and my memory was better. I was sent to the memory clinic at Barnes to be on the safe side and make sure it wasn’t Alzheimer and that doctor said, my memory loss was from stress and Topamax and I was Thanking, God it’s wasn’t Alzheimer! Then after I went off Topamax I gained 40 more lbs. and it went on fast. My doctor told me that the Topamax was also used as a diet suppressant. I knew that I had to make myself eat while I was on it and when I went off I was hungry. So after gaining this weight I knew I had to do something because I’ve tried weight watcher and other diet plans and nothing was working for me. So that was when I went and talked to Dr. Moralas and he removed my band in November 2018 and I had to wait 3 month to have my weight loss surgery. Dr. Moralas told me with having the reflex he suggested that I have the RNY so, I’m looking forward to having my surgery on March 27, 2019. I’m ready to loos this weight!
