So, when you started throwing up after you ate did it last forever? I have had two 24 hour days of throwing up stomach acid. The first time I went to the hospital. They thought I had a virus. It happened again two weeks later and now again today. I ate very little, but nothing settled and up it is coming. -

I had my first fill a couple of weeks ago. Is there an awkward stage between food either going straight through or getting stuck? If I am in a hurry, or eat something dry, it gets stuck going down, but it seems nothing stays in the pouch. Will more fills help me get past this stage? It seems like the opening is just big enough to either cause me grief or do nothing. Thoughts/knowledge? -

I know that some diuretics can cause it, but I don't know about Synthroid.... however, my daughter takes it and had leg cramps this weekend while she was home from college. It would be something to ask the doctor next visit. Good luck with everything!

It can be dangerous for your potassium to drop too low, as it helps your kidneys and heart function properly. I found that laying off the sodium helps to keep mine at a normal level.

My doc gave me 1cc. One measly little cc. I was sure hoping he would be more aggressive on the first fill. I was extremely disappointed.

hi! you are doing so much better than I am! Congrats to you! I haven't lost an ounce since the surgery. I am getting a fill today, so hopefully, that will help. I can eat like a lumberjack and have found myself the last few days doing just that. ugh. I told myself I wouldn't revert back to eating too much, but here we go....

I agree with that! I haven't lost any weight since surgery, but my clothes are getting looser. I like to think that the "water weight" I lost during pre-op is being replaced by fat loss. Yes, that's a good theory. -

Don't add the ice and cut the milk back to 8oz if it is still too much. That's what I would do.

Are you doing okay? Did the gas go away? I'm doing good until I laugh. Boy, talk about laughing until you cry. I got tickled at my 15 year old daughter yesterday and I couldn't stop laughing and literally laughed until I had tears in my eyes from the pain. It feels like I have a knife in my side. I told the Dr's office they left a scalpel in there but they assured me that would be hard to do with laparoscopic surgery. Then, of course, what did I do??? I laughed. Hope you are well. Susette

I agree! My doctor gave me print outs for gastric and lapband, not sure why both and didnt' figure it out for a while. I just wondered why I had so much conflicting info. It was also different than the bariatric lead at the hospital told me to do and different again from the nutritionist info from the pre op visits! Is skim milk okay on liquid stage? What? If it's liquid only then why is cream of wheat and pudding on the list????? I can't wait until I can eat normal foods and quit second guessing my every sip. Boy I feel better now! thanks! -
I was banded on the 26th. My dr. instructed liquids for three weeks. maybe too soon to move on to pureed for you?

How are you? I sat at the computer working on a spreadsheet for my husband for a little too long yesterday evening. It made me pretty sore. Up until then I had had a pretty good day. If I am laying, sitting standing or walking I am okay with just a little soreness. It is straining the stomach to move into the positions that smarts on the right side! How is your pain today? I am not hungry, either but trying to drink quite a bit. I have gained three pounds. It has to be fluid. The IV's do a puffy number on me. I have had, all total, about 150 calories in the past three days... so it has to be water!!!! Let me hear from you!

I had mine approved through insurance. My surgery was yesterday. I have Aetna, though. Make sure you find their requirements on their website so you have it in writing what they need to approve you. I had to have four visits (three full months) worth of nutritionist and doctor visits noting an exercise plan. If your BMI is under 40 you also need a co morbidity. Mine was sleep apnea. Be careful, because they have a set number for how bad your sleep apnea has to be, too. I had to have my test redone and it had gotten worse. I guess that was good in my situation because the number was then bad enough to get approval.

Wow, I searched for help with sagging skin and found your post with the picture of your arms. Did you continue the massage self therapy? I know it has been several years since you posted about your arm "scientific study" but it is still pertinent to all us new to the lap band thing. I am being banded on 8/26/09. Let me know about your skin. I will be hear in Texas rubbing myself!!!! Thanks, Susette

I am so glad someone put the "low BMI" group on the home page. I will have surgery on Aug 26th. I can't wait to see me and all the surgery dates close to mine have their little BMI tickers go down, down, down! I am telling everyone about the surgery. It's not like they haven't seen me struggle to diet the conventional way for years. If they talk about me behind my back, I guess they are laying off of someone else. I look at it as even more accountability. I just pray I am not one of those poor souls that have it done and still can't drop any weight. I would be mortified since I have chosen to shout it from the rooftop. Good luck to all.

Libriteen... How are you being just two days out from surgery? Mine is august 26. I just started the pre-op diet today.
