Lapband Friendly Restaurants
ksp replied to FarmGirl7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
im so glad somebody decided to ask! i have been told that you can use the card for smaller portions/prices or to order off the childrens menu. but i have not used it yet because i dont want them to have to talk to the manager to see what to do then everybody would have to know! but i am very excited to hear what places accept it!!! -
i also made the mistake of telling a few close people in my life about my surgery, and now they drive me nuts! but even worse than that is that i live in a VERY small town so people talk, so i get those loaded questions like "so how are you doing?" where they have heard about the surgery but dont have the balls to say so hows the band going? another thing i get is also attributed to being in a small town is i go out to eat and i only eat a small amount and the waitress is asking if i liked the food, if it was prepared correctly, if im feeling ok.. etc. most of the time i feel like they dont believe me when i say it was fine im just not very hungry.

julie, sorry to hear about your family. i just wanted to share my experience, about 4 days post op i walked through the kitchen and my mother was making egg sandwiches on toast an out of habit i grabbed one and took a bite 1 BITE and realized what i had done! needless to say it didnt go well my body was not ready for that and it got stuck, i burped and groaned in pain for about 12 hours before it finally went through. all i have to say is that broke that habit quick! just be glad your mistakes went down ok and you didnt have the pain to go along with it. hope everything goes well for you. -
To be honest i havent heard any medical problems with drinking and i have done a ton of research. And i mite be different than others but i had surgery on feb 25 2009 and have recently started experimenting with alcohol and my tolerance hasnt changed a bit!! i was hoping to feel it quicker so it would be cheaper to go out but no such luck! lol

my gripe is not being able to find shirts with sleeves that dont look like 3/4 length. i don't own a shirt that the sleeves are long enough and thats even trying the mens too... jeans are the same way! the only thing i can come up with is that the manufactures think all fat people are 4ft tall!!!!
