The first thing you have to realize is that during the first MONTH, you are in the healing phase. The primary focus should be on eating right, getting your water in, and staying as active as you can. The weight loss during this time is only secondary, and will certainly happen in due time. Don't rush thngs...sip sip sip, and chew chew chew. As for me, I have practiced what I preach, and have lost 30 lbs to date since about 2 weeks before surgery. My clothes are starting to become too big, and I am off almost all of my Diabetes and BP medications. I know that this sounds repetitive, but if you follow the simple "rules", you will do very well in your weight loss adventure.
