yup - I have had both...a tummy tuck by far - I second that. BUT - the results for both are amazing and I would do either ten times over in a heart beat because of how good you feel once the pain is gone

1/4 cup...no way - Id die. My doc doesnt recommend that little of food either. 1 cup for us and Ive had no probs.

I was banded Dec 22....and have lost about the same as you...42 lbs, I had no restriction after my second fill and head for my third fill on the 11th of April - thank god! Its been a lot of will power...but honestly it has been worth losing those 42 lbs! So keep your head up!!

So - I "was" one of those people who hardly ever got sick - maybe once every two or three years and just a little cold (with exception of flu twice in my life). Since being banded in Dec though....I just started my THIRD cold, plus I have had an ear infection and (warning TMI) TWO yeast infections (which I have never had even one before). WHAT THE HELL. I said to my husband last night - hm, do I want to be fat and never sick or skinny and have colds all the time....grrrrrr what could I be lacking?? Im taking a Multivitamin and Vitamin C and Calcium. Can I go to the doctor and ask her to test me to see if Im deficiant in something or do they do that? Its starting to get on my nerves and Im tired of making my husband and kids sick. PLUS - Im having a PS consult soon and I have to get this figured out or their is no way I can get plastic surgery in May (maybe) if I cant fight off infection.

I second that it was one of the best things Ive ever done. I also had a tt. At the time I needed it so badly. I had over half taken - was a large D after surgery. It is amazing. I actually had the opposite effect....I am super sensitive now - I get nippolitis all the time lol. I actually now want implants. I had the reduction - something like 7 years ago....now after my kids and losing weight etc and an extra few years, I dont like the shape or location...I want them firmer, rounder and higher and I am going to get it. I actually dont want them bigger though - I go for a consult in April to see what they suggest. Get the reduction - you wont regret it!!

thanks :tongue_smilie: Actually I was on Antibiotics for the ear infection. So my doc gave me that pill (one dose)...but I still had two days of the antibiotics..I go back to the doc on monday cuz things just arent going away...grr

didnt read the replies - but I bet they noticed and just didnt say anything. Sometimes people dont know if they should say anything or feel uncomfortable doing so!

meh - I have so many people say to me, u had that done - u werent that big. shut the hell up - its my body and guess what - I have never been happier to have done something. I was banded dec 22/08 - I was 177 lbs. I was 189.9 at deciding weight. I am 149 as of today. Its awesome. I would do it again in a heartbeat! I cant believe I WILL be at goal by summer. Its amazing. I go for a consult with a PS next month as well to get implants...not big, but just to firm things up and a better shape. I cant wait. I went to dr.martinez/dr.ortiz in Tijuana Mexico.

okay - I admit..I eat 1 - 100 calorie chocolate bar a day and a tsp of Peanut Butter because if I dont I will go crazy and binge. lol - I am losing more slowly now too and I am frustrated - but know I dont want to go back to before so its worth it. I am doing liquids this week to jump start things again. I did it once before and lost 6 lbs again. I needed it to keep myself in this mindset. I have had two fills - and my last one was just a week ago...its not enough - I cant go back until April 11 so its purely will power until then. You can do this...and just think how much better you feel than pre-band!

yay for you!! I am 30 and get botox...yes - but you know what - people tell me I look 22/23 ish all the time so Ill take it. I also get restylane done in my smile lines - those really bother me. I love it all. I talked my mom into and she looks amazing. No one ever believes she is my mom. You know what - if it makes us feel good - who cares. I am now looking into getting a boob job. I am 15 lbs from goal (surgery Dec 22) and have worked my butt off - so thats why I deserve it!

I am looking into getting plastic surgery as I type this...I had the way they look now - and they arent that bad, but they arent as nice as they were - ha ha, the only part of my body I DID like, is now the only part I hate!

I just got back from TJ again - and all was fine.

Mine was well $9800 canadian so I think (cant remember exactly) at the time it was something like $7250 US (could be wrong since its been awhile and I just pay attention to my canadian dollars lol). I too went to Mexico. I choose to go back for my fills because I love my clinic, and made a lot of friends there that I go back to visit!

I went out at 6 weeks post op - danced for 7 hours and drank - a lot. I was perfect up to that point and since I only do that once or two a year - even if that I was fine with it. I wouldnt have drank sooner though - I was too paranoid!

My friend that lives in TJ also said they are playing up the travel advisories right now because of spring break.

Im sorry you and your husband had to go through that. How traumatizing! I am glad you guys are physically okay, though I am sure emotionally not. I do want to add - that I go to Tijuana every 6-8 weeks and havent had anything happen. I also want to add that stuff like this does happen in other places not just there. Actually statistics for other places including Philadelphia (another place I frequent) has worse stats than TJ. I am going back there next Wednesday.

I too went to Mexico. I paid $9800 CANADIAN...so at the time that was around $7850 US. I have aftercare lined up here in Canada...but choose to go back to Mexico (The OCC) for my aftercare because I love it there! I am not worried about the travel advisories - I have friends who live there and am not worried. In fact I am going there again next week Feel free to pm me if you have questions!

I had mine in Tijuana as well with Dr.Ortiz's collegue Dr.Martinez - very happy with everything. Facility was cleaner than anything I have been to in the States or Canada and the staff was excellent! :smile: Feel free to ask any questions. I dont know anything about the doctors you are speaking of though sorry :S but from what I read on here they seem to be good as well

lol - I am a wimp too! I love it here - but AS SOON as my children are grown - I will NOT be here when it is cold out! I will only be here in the summers and will live somewhere warm in the winter. My husband says I am the whitest Mexican he knows lol because I can not tolerate cold at all!
