lil miss scare all

Thats funny. Ive been doing the exact same thing and actually told my husband yesterday that I felt like I was getting ready to have a baby. lol. . " nesting syndrome" , exactlyyy.. I wonder why that is? lol Ive been cleaning out my pantry, cabinets, closets, everything.. its so strange. I did this before I had both my kids. Its bringing back memories. I am dyingggg.. Im on the 2nd, almost 3rd day of this 2 week liquid diet and its really hard. I have a migraine but cant take Excedrin or anything that will actually make it go away. Im only allowed Tylenol. This sucks. I feel like I'm dying. I wanna eat real food. even like cream of wheat or applesauce. anything besides chicken broth and SF pudding/ jello. Drinking stuff makes me feel like throwing up. Am i being a wuss? or did anyone else have this much trouble??

I'm on the first day of my liquid diet and doing ok, but it is harder than i thought. I think its all in my head? I keep drinking hot tea and basically wishing it was surgery day already . lol I hope I can do this for 13 more days.. eek !!! wish me well =]

i was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago. The Metformin made me so freakin sick that I stopped taking it like 3 months after they gave it to me. It didnt seem to help anyways. Im hoping that the weight loss in general from the lapband will help me alot . I get it in a few weeks. i cant wait

my doctor still keeps asking me if " im sure" about lap band , as opposed to bypass. he says " its not too late to change your mind" . ( im scheduled to have my lapband on feb. 19 ) I hate the way he asks me that. It really makes me second guess my choice and makes me wonder if he maybe knows something i dont know? I dont want to fail. I want to choose the right surgery for me. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this decision? Dont say to do my research, because believe me when i say I HAVE !! but the bottom line is that i really dont care which one. I kind of like the less invasive-ness of the lap band, but Im open to everyones opinion. I only want to have WLS once.

I havent been banded yet.( not till next month ), but I didnt really know you COULD binge eat with the band. so im a bit confused =/

I get to start a 2 week liquid diet next week. I am worried. I usually get really sick when I dont eat. =/ Not looking forward to the headaches and nausea. sigh.

Ive been thinking that constantly. Ive been bouncing the thought back and forth constantly, wondering if maybe I should just go ahead with the full bypass instead. ?? I wonder if alot of ppl wrestle with the same thoughts?

My surgery date is on the 19th as well !! :cursing: I am so excited . I tried my first protein drink today and threw up. lol i still have that disgusting taste in my mouth and am wondering how im gonna get my protein intake. sigh.. I bought the ones from Costco that someone from support group recommended. They had told me they were good. They LIED !!! lol what other ones can i try ?

yes. they do. but Im having my surgery in LA at Cedar Sinai and dont want to drive out there just for support meetings. too far. looking for something closer

I am also just getting started. I am having my surgery on Feb.19, 2009 . in just a few weeks !! Anyone know of any local meetings in SBdno or Riverside County ? the only one i have heard of is in Rancho Cucamonga. Are there any other ones??

thats exactly what happened to me. I got a letter in the mail from Aetna saying i was approved and I had to call Maureen and tell her. I thought that was weird because I always thought they would be calling me !!! lol nothing went as I expected. It was all kinda odd. but at least I got approved :sneaky: They never mailed or emailed my pre-op diet, even still. Im going to have to call Julie or Maureen tomorrow againnnn. sigh. honestly, his office staff is driving me nuts. oh, and btw, I am scheduled to attend the same nutrition meeting as you this Thursday. Maybe we will see each other :confused:

Hi Stormie :confused: To my knowledge, I wasnt doing the 3 mo. program . I wasnt really doing anything. I did have a long documented track record of weight loss and regain, which maybe is why I didnt have to do the 6 mo. diet.?? but to be honest, Im not really sure how / why I got approved right off the bat. Maybe its because the Aetna PPO is alot more lenient than the HMO. ? again, im not sure. I wish i could help you more, but I think you should go ahead and submit your stuff to Aetna to see if you get approved. You can always do all the other stuff if its rejected and you do an appeal, you know? Good luck. Let me know how its going !!

I also have Aetna PPO and was approved really fast , with no hassles whatsoever. I was actually a little surprised by the quick approval. Now i dont feel bad about the outrageous cost of insurance that Ive been paying over the years. Im finally gonna get something out of it :w00t:

Dr. Quilici , Cedar Sinai ... excellent doctor. highly recommended. I dont know about the cash cost, as I have an Aetna PPO that is covering it.

you might want to call the Rancho Specialty Hospital in Rancho cucamonga. I know there are several doctors there who do it. I go to meetings there and all the patients there have been banded at that hospital. I am having my surgery in LA at Cedar Sinai, by Dr. Quilici. I hope this helps.

I am going to be banded by Dr. Quilici on Feb. 19. Ive met with him twice and he seems reallly attentive and super nice. I know two ppl who have been banded by him and they love him and highly recommend him.

Im not telling anyone except my husband and my BFF.. I made the mistake of mentioning it to a couple other ppl in the past when i was just considering it , and had to hear some stupid things. . the main thing being that in their opinion, i probably wouldnt qualify for WLS because im not " big enough" and I should " exercise more" and " watch what i eat" .. ( as iffff i havent been doing that for the last 6 years !!!!! ) It is very frustrating hearing that stuff, esp. when every day is a constant struggle of trying all kinds of diff. things and youre still at an unhealthy weight. Anyways, after I heard those stupid things, thats when i decided not to tell anyone when I actually was going to have the surgery, which is next month now =] Im so excited. Happy Valentines day to myself and many many more..

i kinda hate that though, cuz it makes me second guess my decision. I would like to think that i have enough self control to be successful with the lap band. . . but what if I dont? what if im still fat a year from now, wishing I had gotten the bypass ? ...........sigh........... Dr. Quilici told me to just " get the bypass, then I dont have to wonder that " . Just go with the more drastic one, to be safe. but,, i dunno. . My mother in law got lap band in Nov.06 and I watched her lose about 120 pounds over the course of a year. This is a woman with no self control . She still chain smokes and drinks diet coke non-stop. I have no idea how she ever got cleared for surgery. lol.. but anyways. I figure if SHE can do it, I can certainly do it. I did have the self control to stay on Atkins for an entire year in 2004 and lose about 55 pounds , only to gain it all back as soon i stopped doing Atkins.. =/ that was really discouraging. Anyways. what do you think? think i should just stick with the lap band?
