I know what I'm doing is dangerous!
Fluffy_Gurl replied to Band-aided's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with Jachut maybe banding isnt the right thing for you maybe bypass or the sleeve would be better for you. I would reccomend that you get some counsling i think that there is more going on than just the fear of gaining back the weight. What you are doing is very dangerous for you. you have taken several steps to get healthy by getting the band in the first place now you have to take the steps to get healthy again. Good Luck! -
Just wondering ...
Fluffy_Gurl replied to serenity55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wanted to mention that a physical therapist can also help with balance problems. if your insurance covered your surgery they will mosl likely cover some pt to help get back your balance and help your pasture for your new body...also your insurance may cover it evn if they didnt cover your sugery -
congrats on your surgery and hope you feel better soon!!!!

Sorry for the interuption!(sp) I was hoping that some of you may have a few ideas or suggestions for me. I know that you all have been banded by dr.k and i was wondering how you were able to self pay. i understand that this may be a personal question but i am still brainstorming on how i can make this happen for me. If i am going to have he surgery I will have to self pay. My question is how am i going to do it. I know that where there is a will there is a way so..i am still searching for my way. I am considering applying for financing, however, i do not have the best credit as i went through a spell where finainces were difficult and i got behind on an old credit card payment and student loan payments and am now trying o catch back up and repay them in a timely manner and am almos there, I am also working my way towards trying to find a better paying job...i was actually told after an interviewrecently by someone who worked at the place i interviewed at that the company i interviewed with doesnt hire fat ppl..nice right? i so wish i could prove it because it is wrong on so many levels it would be nice if someone could take a stand..anyway not really the purpose for the post so please excuse the small rant... So, How did you pay for your surgery? -
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. i truely understand where you are at though. i have been sick for a few weeks now and i also have asthma. I had pnemonia..i was just wondering if they ruled this out for you also. when i went to the doc i thoguht that i just had some bronchitis and mostly had gone for my sinus and ear infections not even realizing that i had pnemonia..just a thought and maybe something you should keep in mind seeing as how us asthmatics are more prone to develop pnemonia (sp)! hope you feel better soon!

I had the same issue also. I was told that it was covered during open enrollment so i of course got the more expensive plan because it had beter surgical coverage etc and had a lower deductable for the surgery however when i went to get it approved i was old that my employer had decided not to cover any weightloss procedures or programs not even nutritional counsling...i was also angry and upset. i would consider talking to your hr person. i didnt personally find that helpful and am now trying to find a way o finance it myself but you may have better luck with your employer. good luck!

So I refer back to my origional post in asking..Where were the parents? Well gee, looks like they were right in the next room. What the H#ll were these parents thinking? letting boys stay the night and it wasnt just one boy in which case i maybe possibly could wrap my head around but multiple boys? Some people were never meant to be parents.

Almost 6 months out and feeling depressed and ugly!!??
Fluffy_Gurl replied to Mrs. Bubba's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
although i havent been banded yet i can feel your pain. Ive found that when i get down into those deep dark days that getting some sunshine and some exercise helps a little. i also journal...a lot! it helps sometimes just to lt the feelings out. you have already taken such a huge step in taking back your life and taking back the power you have over your own body. we all have bad days but if your days have been going on for a few months maybe you need to talk to your docotr about depression. there is no shame in having depression or in getting help for it. perhaps a support group would help? ive also found that keeping track of my emotional eating ...journaling when i overeat or emotionally eat...helps me recognize my emotional triggers so that i can recognize them and distract myself ith something else before the food touches my lips. you should be prooud of the commitment you have already made to getting to a better you. you are doing great and just keep on trucking and youll get to your goal in no time! -
I also would just like to wish you good luck with your chemo. i hope that things go well for you and will say a prayer for you. best wishes!

I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know, having lost a baby also, that there is nothing anyone can say or do that will ease your pain, but I pray you will find some comfort in the love of your family and in the Lord. My deepest sympathy.

Seriously? Dont you have anything better to do?

Congrats to all of you and good luck!

I was 18. But seriously at the age of 12 you have to wonder where they were..the parents..and why would they allow their 12 yr old to be dating a 15yr old? at least i believe she was 15 or so...my child is almost the same age now and I have had "the talk" with her already and established open communication so that she will be able to talk to me about sex. I agree that parents can't always be "on top" of their children and as they get older they have to make their own decisions including having sex but it says alot about the world and our society when we just accept that 12 yr olds are having children and don't stop to think..what is wrong with this picture...

The cough can cause band slipage or damage to my band?
Fluffy_Gurl replied to Gabband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wondering ...but have they tested you for pertussis/Whooping cough? I had it a few years ago and it sounds alot like what you are describing..i would ask your doc to check it out if they havent already because if you do have it it takes a certain antibiotic and several weeks to get over...just a thought -
I am getting ready to ask a family member for financial help o have the surgery. The problem is I'm not sure that they are going to be receptive to lending me the money or the surgery. At this point I dont see another option other than borrowing from them if they will lend it. I'm not sure how to ask without them feeling pressured to lend me the money but I also want them to know that I am serious about having the surgery and making the lifetime commitment to a lifestyle change. I really need to do this for my health..just like everyone else, I doubt anyone here has had the surgery simply for vanity reasons, its way too much work. So I guess I am just looking for some advice on how I approach this as they dont even know i have been looking ino having the surgery. My weight has always been a problem for me and I cant even recall the last time I wore a single digit size..if I ever reall did. Does anyone have any suggetions for me???

Good luck with our pre-op diet and stay strong as i am sure it will be difficult to say the least! congrats on your surgery as well.Best of luck!

 Did I say...!!! Seriously??? What in the world is going on that small babies are even having sex? Where the hell are the parents? I had mmy child young but this is beyond fathomable.

What FINALLY made you decide to get banded??
Fluffy_Gurl replied to Mrs_Mauricio's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Of course i am only a wanna b but I made the Decision! now if only everyone else would coperate! The AHA moment for me was when i finally realized that i had secluded myself to a point where i hadnet even talked to my friends in almost a ear, the only interaction with ppl i had was at work and i was even avoiding family get togethers because i am so overweight that i didnt want to be around ppl and it was to uncomfortable for me to wear real clothing anymore. I realized I was at home alone not because i really wanted to be but because I didnt want people to see me in general and i became so depressed and isolated that i didnt even realize i wasnt me anymore. I have always been outgoing and crazy fun up until the last few years. I work in a nursing home and see what happens to ppl who dont take charge of their lives. I recently lost a co-worker who finally lost the struggle with her weight and diabetes and lost her life to a stroke related to the diabetes. She was only 58 and now watching her kids who are my age have to grieve for her and try and get throught this. I made the decision. I havent worked out all the details yet but I refuse to live the rest of my life miserable and overweight! I AM taking charge from now on! I will live a happy healthy full life! and I know I dont have to do it alone! Thats the best part! -
So after fighting and arguing with the insurance company i have finally come to the conclusion that i am going to have to self pay for my surgery. sooo... i am scared that if have the surgery through self-pay that i will not be able to get insurance or treatment etc after the surgery. Can having a surgery through self pay methods affect your other insurance coverage? Has anyone who did self pay have any trouble getting treatment after their surgery. i know many of you have had no other option but to self pay im also worried that if their are complications or whatever that i wont have money to pay for them etc..has anyone had this problem? id appreciate feedback from those who may have had good or bad experiences with self pay! I am looking at Dr. Kirschenbaum in aurora co. thanks!
