I was banded on the same day. I get the gurgley sounds and gas too! I wasnt hungry till a yesterday, and now im hungry! i was doing my best to try and get in my protien i wouldnt worry about eating if you are getting ur prrotien in through shakes n such. I have really been struggleing with the fluids. This has always been an issue for me, so i just keep trying my best! Good luck!

I had the same thing. It will pass. Its probably a combination of swelling and gas..at least mine was. Swelling mostly i think... congratulations on your journey

my doc siad taking my regular meds was fine. i havent had any trouble swallowing or getting them down. chewable centrum vitamins and a liquid form of calcium ctrate i got at walmart..prety chalky but do able..

UGH!!! So unfortunatly I think my "friend" is gonna be with me on my surgery date. Im worried that the bloat will make things more difficult after surgery etc..anyone else go thru this? how bad was it???

I add beneprotien powder to my no sugar added CIB, pretty good, much better than other protien shakes.

my doc said it could be a few dif things ...anesthesia can disrupt ur body, losing weight causes ur estrogen levels to fluctuate since estrogen is stored in fat cells, and the change in diet.....

sugar free pudding cups a must..for me anyway..i even mix my protien powder in with some of the flavors. I made a few meals that i thought would be good pureed before surgery and froze them in 1/2 cup containers..those are your new bestie also =) heating pad, helps so much with the gas! i recoomend a variety of whatever you can have because eating the same 1/2 cup of cream of something gets old fast. make sure you will have a comfortable place after surgery too, you may need to buy a few extra pillows i slept propped up for 6 days. So im on day one of the required 3 day clear liquid diet. Its awful...i have a horrible headache..that I cant take anything for...I have heartburn...from Jello and broth??wth? I started my TOM today, and have had loose bm....and still have to cook for my family while im starving.. Did anyone else do the 3 day clears before surgery? Any survival tips? does it get better? I know its worth it but...just needed to vent!

I'm 7 days out. I am in alot more pain than i thought I would be too! At first I thought that maybe I was being a baby about it but really im in pain either way so I just decided to take it for what it is. I just stopped taking the pain meds yesterday. My best friend has been the sf pudding cups. they have protien and go down pretty well. I also found a few that dont tase too bad with beneprotien mixed in. you can also try the carnation instant breakfast no sugar added warmed up, that was helpful for me too! warm goes down better than cold right now, for me anyway. Good Luck! you will feel better! I feel almost human again. Just take your time to heal and rest!

Heating pad, Heating pad, Heating pad! I took phazyme instead of gas x but same thing! Glad you did not have much pain, today I am on day 7 post op and it was a rough week for me! congrats! the gas pains for me started to disapate day 5, but still have pain in my shoulder if i eat to fast or too much!

So i am days post op and I cant feel my band...my stomache isnt sore i cant even tell that I have it..is this normal? I am obviously sore from the surgery and the port etc but as far as my actual band i cant tell it exists..is this normal? btw this gas sucks!

well im 3 days post op. the gas does suck! And i have to say I was never so thankful to fart as i was yesterday! Each little pass of gas is like a small victory for me! My advice..heaing pad gas x, Im using phazyme but close to the same thing! THe pain from the gas is worse than any of the pain related to surgical procedures for sure! Good luck everyone!

I had mine repaired when they placed the band. I didnt even know i had one till after surgery. It is painful. I had a friend who had her band placed a week before me and she had minimal pain, i on the other hand have been having alot of pain, which i blame on th ehernia repair. Its not intolerable tho and managable with the pain meds. The gas issue has caused me morepain than anything else! Good luck it will be fine !!

yeah i know comercials didnt make me fat, im not a moron...duh. But if thats all we see on tv arent you more likely to want to eat that than grilled chicken breast....personally id take the brownies over a saled any in my past. Im just saying that if we are monitoring other things that make you unhealthy than why not food/processed food. Also, i was on my 3 day clear liquid die when i posted that. so obviously i was a little more observant to the food comercials because i was starving

So have any of you ever noticed that 3 out of 5 comercials are for some type of fast food or unhealthy food? no wonder were all "fluffy" They should ban food comercials just like they did cigarettes!!!! Sorry for ranting but really no wonder our society is obese with the bsession we have for unhealthy foods! ...Getting banded tomorow..heres to changing the obsession!

surgery went great. recovering. in pain but would do it again for sure!

Ive got my band!!!! yay!!! Today has been a very odd day! I woke up from surgery with horid gas pains in my shoulders, a sore throat frm the tube in my throat. I have pain, but im not crying, the owrst is the gas pains and how it affects your ability to breath without pain. Im so excited and this is so worth it!!! yay drugs hehehe!

So, today is day three of my clear liquids and tom. is surgery!!! YAY! I survived! no cheating! Yay again...and let me tell you that the first day was the worst..today much better..not really that hungry but am having heart burn..i will say that i hate jello. I had alittle bit yesterday but none today. so here's to a sucessful wonderful surgery!!!!

I gained 10lbs from the day of my consult, this is my third day of my 3 day clear liquid diet and my surgery is tom. when i went to my pre-op they didnt even weigh me...so who knows! every doc is different, but I wouldnt think it was a big deal. Good luck!

My surgery is on the 12th at 7:30 am. I have to be there at 6:30. Its over an hour drive..so I'll be up early too! YAY for us! Good luck everyone!

well i researched for about three years beforei finally decided. From there, i made an appointment and that took about three weeks to get in. From there it was about two months...oct 12 is the day!

I would try another dr. if for nothing else than a second opinion! this is your body and you have the right to choose who helps you take care of it!
