    OMG what a fill

I had my second fill yesterday and it was only an increase of .4cc, but what a difference. I went from being able to eat steak on Saturday night to having to drink my water slow. Tonight I tried some chicken noodle soup, I thought I was going to die. I slimed big time and PB'ed forever but it did go down as opposed to coming up. I guess I have to slow down even more and maybe be on clear liquids for a few day. I AM NOT COMPLAINING, I would love to be at my sweet spot on the second fill, but that might be just a dream.

  3. Cool, my direct email is rickbear99@msn.com. I started at 321.5 and am down to 260, so your ahead of me. I was banded by Dr. Luttrell. let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

  4. Thanks for all the great comments, I am just following the plan. But please be aware you should not judge your weight loss against someone else. We are each unique, your loss may be more or less. The point I was trying to make is the LB works.

  6. This was shared with me at my first group meeting, post-op. I have protein shake for breakfast, a Special K protein water for mid morning snack, protein shake for lunch, another Special K Water for after noon snack then 4-6 ounces of protein for dinner. The protein and eating or drinking often keeps you metabolism up and I drink Vemma 2oz shots for the additional nutrition and as I say in my blog, exercise. I walk two miles a day at lunch, and 4-5 each Saturday & Sunday. Then there is all the energy you have to get that list done that has been hanging around while I was fatter. The point I am trying to make is the LB works if you work it. If you get hungry get a fill, don't give in to your old habits or think what can I get by eating, remember this is a fresh start. Use the tool. Hope this helps.

Much better now and that was so odd

My last post I talked about how hungry I was and I cheated. It was so weird, the next day I was fine and this weekend I forgot to eat some meals. I scheduled a fill for tomorrow, that is number two. But I am off my plateau and lost another 5 pound. Will update my ticker after I get my fill so I will have an official weight. I walked and worked in the yard all weekend, I have so much energy now. Each week it gets better. I cooked sea bass and that is very very good, I also had a steak Saturday night without issue. You can really eat good with the LB if you work at it. Hope everyone is doing great.

OK Team, you have read enough on here to understand. Don't compare what you lose to everyone else, the point is your losing or at least not gaining. Our bodies are all unique so, me losing X does not equal you losing X. If you let yourself become discouraged then you will fall back into your same patterns of eating or at least using that as an excuse. It happens to all of us. I went a month without losing even gaining a little, then poof, 5 pounds gone. This will work and we all went though a lot to get to this point, start anew. Start eating what you know you should eat and exercise. We all knew from the get go that this was not a miracle way to lose weight and that we would have to work at it.

    I cheated, again sorta

Last night I got really hungry, something that is not an issue to me so I went all out (I guess that is a matter of opinion) I had an extra protein shake, I know I know I shouldn't have, but I also added a banana and two table spoons of peanut butter and a table spoon on Nutella. Bad me I almost double my calories for the day in one shake. So today I made an appointment for my second fill.

It gets better all the time

I have not posted in almost a week, but that is a good thing. I have been so busy. I am walking 2 miles at lunch and 5 miles each day on the weekend. I took a 5 pound weight to work and now do a routine while I am on those long calls. I also took an exercise band to work and have a routine for that as well. After work it is straight to the next project, I am getting so much done. I had a garage sale over th weekend and yard work and it just keeps getting better. The task I use to dread, I can do at a run. On Sunday I was at the park walking 5 miles at 6am, then did my shopping on the way home and came straight home to mow the yard. I could have never done that before I had the LB. I went to the Bonefish Grill on Saturday night and did not feel like people were watching to see how much I ate, then took most my meal home. I am on a routine on what I eat daily since food no longer consumes me, the same thing each day because I have placed so little importance on it. I still have a ways to go, or quiet a ways to go, but you can't believe how much better I feel. When I think about cheating, I just look in the mirror or get on the scales. When people look at me now it is not because I am so fat but because I am beginning to look good. Another point I should make is find a support group and go, Group keeps you encouraged. The support I have found on here is also great, fabby50 Bernadette is always there for my support. Try to do the same for others...

Great job BigBossMan, all the issue you had at first must really seem worth it now. Keep going.

Any Men of March 2009 here?

Awesome job Coach, you continue to lead the pack of "Men of March". I still have a ways to go to reach "One"derland but I am on my way. You made a valid point you have to get your protein, period. If you don't you won't lose. The other point I would like to make for those reading about your great results is "exercise". This is not have the surgery and be thin. It takes work and dedication. But exercise won't be like it was before, you will want to exercise because you will have so much energy it needs to go somewhere and then you will begin to look forward to it and what else can you do but increase your workouts more and more and the results will occur. No setting on the couch drinking a shake is not exercise. I am walking two miles at lunch and 5 each day on the weekend, I am getting the to-do list done and looking for things to do. I took a ten pound weight to work and now on those long calls I do a routine. I have a exercise band at work and I do a routine with that as well. This from the guy who only exercise was laps around the buffet. If this not so fat old man can do it anyone can.

    Lapband causes male "enhancement"

Well, since Dr. OZ speaks on Oprah it must be true. So when I lose my 140 pounds I will gain 4 inches. Maybe I should have put on a few more pounds. That means when I lose my weight I will be ......

Any Men of March 2009 here?

OK Coach, give up the belt and go buy a new smaller one, It is time. Glad BigBossMan is back. I walked 5 miles on Saturday and was so pleased with myself. I am having a garage sale next Saturday to sale my fat clothes, it time to move them out of the closet never to return. I will get a new official weight on Thursday, but unofficially I am down 60+pounds. For Memorial Day this year it was not about the food. I went to a party, something I had avoided before. Ate a few bits and was done, today I had to have some BBQ so I went to Corky's got a pound of beef and a rack of ribs and it should do me at least a week. It is so funny, that use to be a meal. I am a different person, a better person as we all are.

    Your Fired

Friday I came home from work and my yard was not done, see I am the last yard of the week. So I am thinking after years of having my yard done, because I was too FAT to do it myself. I figured if I can walk 2.5 miles, I can mow my own yard. So I fired the yard crew and got the mower out and mowed. This may seem like a simple task to many but since I was so FAT I could not do it without it taking me hours since I would have to mow a little and rest a lot, mow a little and rest a lot. When I mowed I edged, fertilized, and killed the bugs while I was out there. I did everything in 2.5 hours on a Friday night after working all day and walking 2.5 miles at lunch. Boy I love the LB. More money saved since I was spending $200 a month for yard care, add this to the $400 I am saving in food and I will take a nice vacation this year.

    Your Fired

You know it is all how you look at it. I was not a self pay, but would have to change my life. I know it is a lot of money but even in the short term it is well worth it. Not to mention your health, you save every month. I did not realize being fat was costing me money, who knew.
