Sounds like everyone is doing well, I am on the two weeks liquid as well. I lost a lot the first couple of days, I think it was water weight since I have held my own for the pas couple of days. Still not hungry, not at all not a minute. Watching Food Network does not even do it. But I am drinking protein shakes and broth, still not getting enough but it is getting better. The only issues I have is I am cold all the time, smell everything, and my back hurts. Everything else is good. Thanks all.

Glad I could help, I think this site is awesome for just this reason. I have had almost no pain so the only real issue has been the trauma on surgery day.
-
WOW, you make my added heital hernia look like a piece of cake. I am glad you are doing better. Hopefully in a week this will just be another badge to wear. Did they Cath you during surgery? It sounds like your ordeal was very unpleasant. best of luck.

That is encouraging Coach, I still have trouble sleep over a couple of hours but it is getting better. Out about the staples, I did not get any, just glue and strips. I thought I was the only one with the smell thing going on, it is so odd. I smell everything. Also is anyone cold? I can't seem to get warm.

BigBossMan, I am still not eating so I guess full is not an option. But during this phase you should have little if any restriction since you need to be healing. I have not been hungry at all, have to make my self drink the broth and protein. Just think how proud you will be when you reach your goal and how proud you wife will be with her hunk of a man (hair or no hair).

Looks like ALABUBBA is well on his way. I understand about having to watch others eat. It may be odd but I have encouraged everyone to be as normal as possible, I have made this change for me and I really did not want it to be about anyone else. But when I am giving away my fat clothes those who tortured me won't get any.

I put away all my pain medicine today as I have not used it in a few days. I tried to return to normal. Also I begin to add back in my protein. I had one 20gm protein slim fast this morning and then broth for the rest of the day. I was able to do a little around the house, but by afternoon I was exhausted. It gets better everyday. Still no hunger and the dull headache has begun to go away.

Good job Bouwks, sounds like you had speed surgery. I went in at 8:30 and left at 5:30. Your a better man than I, not back to work yet. Keep in touch.

Awesome job Marko, I think we all have those feeling that I can do in on my own and you will, only now you have a little help. Those thoughts changed for me to I wish I had this 20 years ago. Each day that passes will get easier. Sounds like your sleeping better than I , I can only sleep for about 2 hours then have to get up and moved around to get the gas out. But then again my doctor did not give me anything for gas. Keep the faith and by this time next year we should be normal again.

Sounds like everyone is doing reasonably well. I think I am holding my own as well. No hunger, in fact I have to make my self get down the broth. I am drinking plenty and each day is better. I think because I had the heitial hernia repair as well it is taking me a little longer to get in the swing. but tomorrow is a new day and if I could get more than a couple of hours sleep without having to get up to get the gas off I think I would be better. At least the belching is not as painful as it was in the beginning. Keep up the good work and remember this is a journey and the good thing is we have a common goal.

Good news to report today. I was able to sleep in the bed some last night, only about two hours at a time, then I would have to get up and walk around to get the gas off my stomach. But this is a huge improvement and I feel much better today. Yesterday evening I begin to belch a lot and begin taking Mylanta. Not sure it is working but it helps, yesterday the belching was painful today not so much. I was also about to go to the bathroom for the first time since the band. So it looks like by body is beginning to adjust and get back into the norm. The best news of all is this morning my scale was below 300lbs for the first time in a long time. :sneaky: My abdomen no longer hurts like it did the first couple of days when I would get up and down out of the chair. Looks like a brand new day to me....

BigBossMan you are going to be surprised how much you know about the Lap band after being on this site. Don't worry about being on day 4 it will be over before you know it, just keep focusing on the results. I had to sleep in a recliner the first two night following the band, just could not lay flat. Last night I slept in the bed, but only for about two hours at a time since I would have to set up to get all the gas off my stomach. But even that is an improvement. I feel so much better today. I think the bike is a great idea. keep the focus.

WOW I am impressed with your walking, I am nowhere near that, I thought I did good to walk onto the patio today. I am sorry for your poor experience, there is no excuse or that. Keep up the good work

I have completed my second day post-op without any issues. I don't feel bad, I just don't feel good. I am moving around more and more so that is a good sign. I don't know how much of that is because of the hernia repair, but all in all I think I am doing good. I am drinking broth, water and Gatorade. No hunger, in fact I have to make myself drink the broth. I have not taken a shower yet, even though I was told I could. Just not enough energy. I am down about 20lbs since I begin the pre-op diet. Thanks to everyone.

That is just awesome, tomorrow will be my 3rd day post, I have not felt bad, just not good. So I hope I can follow your lead and feel great without hunger in a couple of days. Looks like you are doing well on weight loss as well. I am only down about 20lbs. Keep it up, I will follow your lead.

I am surprised you are on Boost, it has a high calorie content. Just stay on your diet, it makes a difference.

I am glad you are doing so well, I hope to follow in your footsteps. Keep it up.

Well I am now banded, it was interesting. I drove the two hours to the hospital, never nervous as I knew I was making the right choice. Once they put you under you know nothing. Once inside me the doctor found I had a serious Hiatal Hernia, which he had to repair. that took about an hour from what I was told. Then he did the BAND and I had a hard recovery again from what I was told. The worst part for me was the drive back, every move the jeep made I felt it in my midsection. I did have some gas pain in the shoulder on the way home and the first night. But today it has not been an issue. I walked all night, at least what I could. The whole process was not bad I really can't say anything was too much to handle. I did heave in recovery and was a little concerned about that. My doctor called to check on me today and I have an appointment in two weeks. The pictures of my insides are interesting. I had lost about 15 pounds in my pre-op diet. Since the surgery I have peed a lot, just it is from the Iv's. Today I have had about a half a cup of both and some Gatorade. Not really wanting anything but know I need to keep my strength up. I still have on my TED's but they are beginning to bother me. Will write more tomorrow. Thanks for this site and everyone who came before me. I actually knew more than some of the nurses who were helping me with expectations,

I understand Coach. I had a serious hiatal hernia which they spent an hour repairing before they did my lap band. I also understand about the Cat, I am picky who plays down there. Better today, not much sleep. Trying to decide if it feels like a pitchfork in the chest or a shotgun blast. But I am still glad I had it done. On my way to being a new me. Thanks for the support.

Well, I have already stopped eating with a nice Lean Cuisine as my final pre-ban meal. The two week diets was not that bad. I shaved my chest today in prep for tomorrow. Yes, I know they would do that, but I had a dry shave for my EKG las week and I thought this would be better. An interesting experience I must add. That had be a a pound loss . Anyway I am surprisingly not nervous. The only thing that was pressing was getting everything I wanted to do done before the surgery. I have my bag packed and will leave about 6am for my 2 hour drive. I will post again as soon as I am able. Thanks for everyone's support and this site.
