  1. Hi everyone, I was banded in Perth in 2009. I lost 15kg then got pregnant. I had all the fill removed for the pregnancy and then had a cesa in March 2010. I had no problem at all with anything getting stuck during my pregnancy and until 2 weeks post giving birth when the Fluid shifted. On the same day the fluid shifted, bread and meat started to get stuck. I saw a surgeon who checked the fill and took out 2 mls and said it was now empty. food continued to get stuck and this yr I saw a Melbn surgeon who did a gastroscopy and saw no problems. He also checked and saw NO fill bud food continues to get stuck!!!! Gastroscopy shouled no slip or errosion so now i am having the useless thing removed. Then in 5 weeks I am having gastric bypass. On Monday I had a piece of meat (I chew everything 30 times) stuck for 4 fours.... painful and I was unable to lie down in bed. Anybody else heard of the same thing? I shouldn'T've had the band in the first place, should've had bypass as hubby suggested! take Care
  2. Well thanks for that info.... I don't know why my surgeon didn't suggest that reasoning, BUT I put on 8kg during the pregnancy and had no problems all the way through until two weeks after she was born and the pregnancy fluid shifted which seems a bit of a coinidence. Both my husband and I have always said how rough the surgeon was when he put me back together after the cesa so we believe it has something to do with that op. I have so many illnesses' and chronic pain that I am sick of dealing with, not to mention my sex life that is placing a huge strain on my marriage so I need the bypass and the sooner the better. It will be when I finally are happy in my life after at 38yrs of age, it is about time. Take Care
  3. But all over the country today everyone hears that only the lap band procedure is reversible since it uses an inflatable saline filled strap that is wrapped around the stomach. This is of course not true at all seeing as though almost all surgical procedures can be reversed should the need arise. To assume that a RNY gastric Bypass surgery cannot be reversed is obviously wrong. There are actually many medical health clinics all across the United States that are capable of performing this reversal. Furthermore the reversal of a gastric bypass procedure can be dine with only 2 day stay in the hospital after the procedure and with only a 7 day recovery period. hi all! banded by Dolan

Dolan did mine in 2009, NEVER advized or sent me to dietician and tell people not to see him but as long as you had a good time, I'm glad for you.
  6. :scared2: Hi Guys! I am Day 12 post banding and feeling great and are 17.7lbs down already. I only needed pain relief for two days after the surgery and have been feeling great, apart from from tiredness which is to be expected. When we have banding here in Oz, we are on fluids only for two weeks, then two weeks of a soft diet of things like 1/2-1 weetbix, or 1 soft boiled egg, fish in white sauce, chicken for one of the three meals for the day. No soda's or sugars. After that we can slowly introduce normal foods but breads will no longer be an option or soda's. What I would give my right arm for right now is some red meat! I love red meat and it has been hard not eating or craving it. Take care fellow Bandit's! :tt1:
