5cc, 6 months post-op, NOT LOSING!!! What's with this?

One thing your body must have to function properly (and lose weight) is Protein. Are you getting enough protein? It sounds like you may not be, if you are getting stuck often...I think what happens is your body stops getting what it expects and goes in starvation mode where your body holds on to every ounce because of the drastic change in what you are eating. If you could add more protein to your diet it may jump start your weight loss again. I did this and it has helped me...I get the high protein slim fast drinks with 20 grams in one drink and eat the hight Protein Bars...I cut them up into very small pieces and pretty much let them dissolve in my mouth before swallowing. Also, how long has it been since your last fill and you have been getting stuck...I find that when I have a fill, it takes a couple of weeks for me to eat somewhat normal again. I am currently at 7cc and I too get stuck very easily. I just try to make sure that everything I eat has some value... usually focusing on protein. Hope this helps. -
Hi, I have had 3 fills and am now at 7cc out of 10cc restriction. I can tell you that there was a huge difference for me between 6cc and 7cc. At 6, I could still eat pretty much anything I wanted in small quantities, and if I chewed it really well. At 7cc, I have pretty much gone to a liquid or soft diet. I know right away when I get something stuck because no air moves (you can't even force a small burp), and I start salivating alot. That is very different than feeling satisfied or full. It is quite uncomfortable. I think you are just feeling the fullness that you should feel after eating a small amount, which is exactly what you want. Hope this helps!

I was banded on July 25th, 2008. I have had 3 fills and am at 7cc in a 10cc band. My weight loss so far has been 30lbs. I went today to for a fill and found out that my pouch is stretched, and I think it is due to drinking carbonated water. It definitely isn't due to overeating. My question is what is the best way to make sure that I get my pouch strunk back down to where it should be. I was told to go on a liquid diet for the next 7 days, and I will definitely cut out the carbonation. I hope this works. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!
