got a lap band, then got pregnant 9 months later, during pregnancy I had awful mornign sickness for 4 months and I tossed my cookies every day all day, I could hear the band and my stomach felt like it was being wrung out like a wash cloth then poof, I was starving and could eat or drink more than I should have been able to... I did not get the lap band liquid taken out when I got pregnant at my surgeon and obgyns reccomendations ( so I wouldn't gain too much) but now I can eat too much and I'm hungry. I had been reluctant to get another adjustment after he was born because I am breastfeeding but now that he's 3 months I think the breastfeeding has been established enough that I can hopefully continue even after I tighten my band again. the problem is, I am not sure a fill will help since I never got the liquid out in the first place. is it possible during all the morning sickness my band slipped or stomach stretched? during my pregnancy my port was all over the place and we could see it protruding always in a different spot. I am just wondering if it is messed up or hopefully It can all be fixed with a fill. next baby I will certainly be taking the liquid out as soon as I get pregnant!

I too have heard no morning sickness means hormone levels are low so the risks are greater but I know tons of ladies who had no morning sickness and had fine pregnancies so I think it's just statistical mumbo jumbo really. my morning sickness didn't start till around 8 weeks but it lasted till I was into my 4th month and was awful. the band made it worse i think. I would honestly throw up on myself the moment I got into a car. so then I'd have to drive an hour home from or to work soaking wet. Can't tell you how many times I had to pull over, or turn around and go back home to change. finally I kept towels and extra clothes in my car. it was every day. my husband would meet me in the garage when I pulled in with a garbage bag for my soiled clothes and a fresh towel, I'd strip in there and run up our stairs naked and crying and jump in a shower. but because of the band I could hear it it was awful sounding. and I could feel it too. it was very awful so my dear if you don't have any sickness count your blessings!
