    sleeping on stomach

I don't sleep on my stomach, but I was able to sleep on my side the same day as surgery. It was actually more comfortable to sleep on the port side that the other. Hope this help. Good luck!!!

    symptoms of gall bladder issues

When I started having pain from gallstones, it was horrible. It hurt right under my breast bone and all the way through to my back. If I ate anything greasy, it would usually come back up. One night I ate fried Bologna and I hurt so bad that I went to the emergency room and they said it was probably gallstones but to go to my regular Dr. It took a few weeks to get everything figured out and to have surgery, but they gave me pain medicine to take while I waited. Hope this help.
  9. I was banded on the 25th. I have lost 13lbs in three week. I get my first fill 4/9 and I can't wait. Good luck everyone!!!

    Sleeping on side??

I was banded on 2/25 and sleep on my side that night at the hospital. It was the only way I could get comfortable.
  12. I had to stay overnight for the insurance to pay, but my Dr. didn't require me to. He actually said that I was the first Blue Cross patient that he has done surgery on that was require to stay.
  13. I tried the same thing with my cookies and cream Matrix. When you put it in the blender it come out way too foamy. I had to poor it out. Now I just mix the cookies and cream and milk with a spoon. It comes out alot better. It taste really good too. I think you can buy it online.

    What about Caffeine and soda

As Restlessmonkey said caffine is not bad for the band. But the carbinated beverages could cause your pouch to stretch or your band to slip, which could cause you to have to have another surgery to replace or just remove your band. At my doctors office they said no carbinated beverages at all, not even flat ones. Hope this helps.

Banded a week and 12lbs down!

Congrats on the weight loss. I am almost 2 weeks post op and have lost 10lbs. The first week, I would feel like I was starving and drank about 1/2 to 1 cup of liquids every 2 hours or so. I was waking up in the middle of the night hungry and I would have to get up and drink something. So one night I ate 1/2 cup of cream of potato soup and then I drank 4 oz of a protein shake. I was so full I thought I was going to be sick and I still woke up that night hungry. Now I have started eating 5 club crackers with a tiny bit of peanut butter and jelly on them at night. Since I started doing that I don't ever really feel hungry anymore. Do you know how many caleries we are supposed to be getting? I haven't had over 800. Anyways, I'll stop rambling now. Good Luck.
  16. I had to wait about 8 months from my first supervised diet visit until my surgery. I was banded Feb 25. So far everything has been really great. Good Luck!!!

    CPAP crap!

My Dr. gave me a perscription for ambian (not sure about the spelling) so I could get used to the machine. It work some nights, but some nights I just took Tylenol PM, it helped me sleep pretty good. My machine also had a ramp button that started the pressure out at 4 and increased pressure slowly over a 30 minute period. That helped alot too. I only had to wear mine for 6 hours a night, so I would go to bed around 8:30 or 9 and just watch tv for about 2 hours, then I only had to sleep with it for 4 hours. I usually woke up and took it off and my Dr. cleared me for the surgery. I'm getting it this coming Wednsday, Feb 25. Can't wait. Anyways, hope this helps.

    My before and afters

You look GREAT!!! How long did it take you to get these results?
  20. I finally got my surgery date 2/25/08. I have been doing to Dr. appointment after Dr. appointment and my time has finally arrived. I am so excited. I go for my pre-op test and nutrition class on the 18th. I don't think that my surgeon requires a pre-op diet. If so, I will find out at the nutrition class. I am trying to do my own diet though, Atkins shake for breakfast, Start Ones WW meals for lunch and a small dinner and next week I plan to start walking at a local church. I am ready to get this started now so that I can succeed later. Everyone on this site has really been an inspiration to me. Thanks!!!
  21. I just found out that my surgeons office submitted the request for surgery to my insurance today. I hope I get an answer back soon. How long did it take for the insurance to get back to you all? I am so excited and very anxious.

    Submitting to Insurance

Thanks for you quick responses. I'm not sure how my insurance work. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. TQUAD64, I see from your signature that it say you lost cc's from some of your fills. Is that common?
  23. Hi Lellow,

I am only 5'2", so that doesn't help me any either. I haven't discussed a goal weight with my doctor yet, since I haven't gotten the band yet, but my personal goal is 130. Congrats on the weight loss. Keep up the good work.

    Losing patience

I too, just finished my 6 month program, then I found out today that they need my weights from the past 3 years. I don't go to the Dr. that much, so I hope I can come up with some type of documentation for that. If not, I've put all this time in and am going to have nothing to show for it. I just hope everything works out. Congrats BeautyLocs!!! Wish it was me.
