Hi every body, the date August 8th, the time 6am, the place Atlantic City Medical Center NJ. I'm all ready, packed etc. bootcamp done. I know what is going to happen, but now it's getting real. I need you guys! I am excited to start my new life! and be healthy, I guess it's normal. Patti

Hi Everyone! Congrats to those who have been banded, and good luck to those up and comming! Mine is the 8th of August in Atlantic City NJ. I have been running around like a nut, so when the morning comes it will be a shock. I'm not worried, and my husband will take care of me. So I'll let you know! Patti

I have not posted for so long because I didn't know where to do it at! DUH. I was not sure my picture was up either. I look like a nun. real sexy. All is ready to go for the surgery etc. We are thinking of moving and that is keeping my mind off of worrying. I have cut way back on eating. I'm taking the vitamins ,drinking the water and exercising more than before. and making sure I chew well. and practice not drinking the 1/2 hour before and after the meal. so this way it won't be so foriegn to me after surgery. well that's it for now Patti

Thank you Patti & Charlotte, When I think of my aunts, who were so much fun, and most died of complications of diabetes, it makes me know I am doing the right thing. It is so hot here, I wat to walk , but I will go to the pool instead and exercise. no time like the present. Patti

I am Aug. 8th. because I lost weight , I only have to fast 1 day prior to lap-band. but I hate to be nauseous!!! so I will take your advice. thanks for saying that! you have made great progress! and glad to hear your energy is so high! Keep on going! I too want to rid myself of diabetes. only take 1 pill, but who needs it! Getting a little freaked as the day approaches. Patti

Hi hate to ramble but today I found out that I cannot get my band in July like I thought. It would have been perfect for my job and my husband would have been around too. Now they tell me my ABT is a little high and that means another trip to a pulmanary doctor with the chest -rays etc. and wait another 3 weeks for that appointment. Before they were saying the 3rd week in June and then boom July is booked. It makes me feel sad. I won't gve up but I hope this is not the start of heart aches. Does anyone know what the ABT things are? Thank You and good luck to all who are ready to get your bands, I'll pray for you. Patti:think

Hi I did okay and lost 7 for my last Dr's . appointment, but my friend gained 30! and she got hollered at so bad, and 2 weeks liquid diet for her, plus really he could cancel on her. She was so upset I felt bad for her. My date is Aug 8th. Please be good , it's for your own good. Patti

Hi all , thanks to all who posted for me. My surgery is Aug.8th. My heel spur surgery is canceeled cause if I did it and took the meds for it after, I would have bled during the lab-band surgery! So boot-camp was yesterday, long day lot's of info, getting excited now. and getting everything ready! I need an angel! Patti

Hi Everyone! I had bootcamp yesterday, it was good. I was gonna have heel spur surgery today and mentioned it to my doctor. He said wait because of any chance of infection. and then I said that I would have to take meds for infection and he said if I had done it and said nothing, I would have bled during the lap band surgery! I Thank God I told him. I was only worried that I wouldn't be able to walk right after surgery! I lost weight since I saw him last and only need to be on liquids 1 day before surgery. Well off to the pool do exercice! Patti

Hi , I was to have surgery on my heel today. I went for my bootcamp yesterday, and while I was at the Dr.s I mentioned it and he said wait. Because an infection would mean that he would have to postpone my lap-band. No way! And the meds I would have to take for the foot would cause bleeding during the lap- band. so we were both glad I said something! First thing first and he said that as I loose weight it may help it any way. hope so! Lap -band August 8th!!!!!

I hear ya girls! It's a killer! I am finally having my left foot done July 28th, 1 week before being banded on August the 8th. Should be a fun few weeks. Afterwards I want to be able to walk for exercise and not be in constant pain. I had 2 of them for years and worked every day as a hair stylist! The shots worked off and on, but I'm tired f it. The thing the doc says is NO BAREFOOTIN' ever! even flip flops in the shower! Mine always was worse in summer . I'm scared about both operations. but it will be okay!:help:

I am gonna have a minor foot surgery before the lap band and then I will be able to walk for exercice. So now I'm off for the summer , which is good get all this behind me and start fresh. The July thing came and went, but now I have a date of August 8th. It's good because my husband will be out of work (school bus driver) and can help me. I'm really calm about it, having gone to help my daughter after her open gastric bypass 3 years ago, I think this will be okay. She lost 130 lbs.

Hi just wanted to say that I decided on the band, and my date is August 8th , with pre-op July 24th and the bootcamp July27th. It took longer than I thought, but it's comming up. Question is? How long really does it take before ya feel okay ,like work and driving. I will need you dolls to help me through this. Please keep in touch. Patti:clap2:

Hi Everyone, My date is August 8th, I am so glad it is in site. I go to the support groups and read these posts also, it seemed like it would never come. do you need to do the liquid thing for weeks prior to it? I have not had the boot camp yet. I will probably be some what depressed not being able to eat what I want, but damm thats what got me here in the first place. I have quit drinking and smoking 25 years ago because it was hurting my life. I wanted it for a little while but never now. The saame will be about food. Just another addiction. Sure I'll cry & jump around in my playpen for a while then the rewards will come. good health. looking and feeling better. that's what I read on here. So when I feel bad I will be on here looking for help. and giving it when I feel better. Thanks, Patti

Hi Everyone, I am Patti U I have not had the lap band yet and I need to go to more appointments again etc. at first I was upset about it but I'm just gonna get my heel fixed first. Also I went to my 2nd support group last Monday w/ my Husband ,it was good very inspiring. However I am impressed by the weight loss from people on this board, but also very concerned about the people who can still over eat ect. and not lose. And all the problems occuring. with flipped pots and fills and all. I go back and forth with the band and gastric bypass which my daughter had and did great. I have 85 lbs. to loose. I am changing my ways now and not much is happening, Sometimes I think just do the other and get it over with, cause I think If I could still eat crap after I would, and then what's the sense in any of it? Are you guys who are not losing not following the plan or is it just not working? Like my daughter can't eat bread or sugar, she will get sick. That's really heavy duty too. Look I'm a Libra this is what happens. I was given good advise here about making the decision, Please let me know really about all your sucesses, It will be so appreciated. Patti in Jersey

Thank You so much, I am trying to do just that I have lost 3lbs. since looking into this, and really trying to chew well drink the water and ride my bike more. I need a foot thing done on a heel spur so I may as well do that now. It's making me mad that they never called and just booked it up, and never said there was any problem until I called them. Tommorow night is the support group, I'm going and my husband too. They wanted to give me the 3rd week in June but I sais no due to my job, never will do that again. jobs come and go but my health is more important. I have sunk into depression over this, I read how everyone is losing so fast after thier band and now I have to wait. I think my husband is dissapointed too. does anyone know what the "abt" is it has to do with the pulmanary test they give you? They said mine is a little high. I am glad for the support. Good Luck on your surgery! It seemed like everything was moving along so good and then this. I never had a problem with my lungs. I don't smoke or anything. How come you have to wait 2 months and some? Patti:confused:

I'm so mad. I thought I could get my band in July but when I called today they said it was all booked up and now that my ABT THINGS look a little high so now it's another appointment in 3 weeks. I would have had off most of the month of July and my husband would be around too. They were supposed to have called me May 24th about this and didn't. Does anyone know what it means when these tests are a little high? it was the breathing tests and blood gases and I need to bring my chest e-ray too. I'm relly discouraged but not giving up. PattiU ps at least I didn't go and eat a cake.

Hi everyone, I am waiting to hear about a date for surgery and bootcamp etc. I hope it can be in the first week of July, that would work out good with the job. Do you think that the band will work as well as the bypass surgery? They say I can change my mind if I want to. The support group is this Monday comming in Galloway NJ. It's really good. The Dr.O will be Dr. Did any of you have him? Well hope to hear from some of you. Patti
