Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Candice, sorry about your friend. I never have had someone who was the love of my life (except maybe the guy who died, but who knows what really would have happened). I can't even imagine what it feels like to lose someone like that. Food choices are good, but portions suck. Only a week and a 1/2 before I get a fill. Yeah. Thanks for the support on DD#4. I know this will blow over, but I am glad I stood my ground. Maybe it will sink in to her, but maybe not. Got my apple tree planted last night and the pond is almost dug. Candice I want you to come back when things are done so I can play being a good hostess. I still feel bad that things were so crazy when you were here. Janet, it's Friday!!! yeah, a whole weekend. Any company? or do you get to have peace and quiet? Phyl keep us updated! Linda, you will find 'something to keep you busy....aka grandbabies! Besides, Candice and I could teach you how to quilt. OHHH, we could do that at one of our get togethers. Phyl could teach us beading, Candice & I could teach you quilting. Janet, you could lead us in workouts.... Well, best get busy, you all have a grand day!!!

Came home and got a good portion of my pond dug out. I was suppose to take Elyse to her doc appt and then I was going to make a Costco run and pick up all the stuff I am out of, but I ticked her off so I was 'uninvited'. Basically, the BF was suppose to drive her to my school, I had arranged for a teacher to cover my class since I don't have any sick leave left, then we were heading to the appt. Well, she calls me and asks to borrow money for gas, because they don't have enough gas to get to my school and no money to buy it. I said that yes I would give them gas $$, but they needed to know that this was the one and only time I would do it. Well she calls back about 1/2 an hour later and tells me to forget it, because the BF is going to take her to her appt. Excuse me...you don't have gas to get to my school which is 8 miles away, but you have enough gas to drive 20 miles away? So I said 'fine', but did she realize I had shopping to do and that I had put it off because I knew we were going to town? That it would have been nice to know this earlier. So she goes on about me making her chose between me or the BF. I said that no I wasn't making her chose, that she had already made her choice and that this wasn't about me. Well then she goes on about all she is trying to do is make everyone happy. At this point, I lose it. I was ticked to begin with, but now I am furious. That, I said, was the 'f"ing problem, she was trying to make everyone happy and what she needed to do was to make herself happy first. So basically I am now out of her and the baby's life. And you know what, it hurts, but again this is her choice. I'm done. I told her that I hoped she made her next appt so the the BF can take her. Thanks for letting me vent. But I'm not going to put myself out there again to be used and hurt.

Phyl, I'm so sorry, what a horrid experience!! I hate when they 'dig', just admit defeat already!!! Took DD#4 & DD#5 out to dinner last night, Alexa DD#5 is heading off to her summer job in Idaho today. So we went and had Mexican, can I say way too much food and way too much eating. Splured and had a margahretta (sp) A nice evening. Came home, did some laundry and was pretty much a slug. Only 15 more days of school. The kids are psyched, but so am I. They are all being pretty good!! Got to take someone's phone away for texting during class. I wish I could break them into little pieces. Cruel I know, but I hate when they sneak around. I don't know why parents think a 7th grader needs a phone all the time!!! Today I'll take Elyse to her doc appt. and do a little shopping. Hope you all have a good day!! TTFN

Denise, don't you have tenure? Fortunately our school has managed to make AYP every year. But we spend a whole lot of time and excessive amounts of money to reach it. Basically I lose about 4 weeks of regular curriculum time because of testing and test prep. We do the MAPs testing at least 3 times a year and then the 'official' achievement tests. Finally got the 'Beast' (old truck) running last night. The mechanic says the engine is perfect. I can start hauling rock and back. No I am not lifting too much, I ab being extra careful. DD#5 is coming out for dinner tonight. She leaves for her summer job tomorrow and will be gone most of the summer. She will come home a couple of times. Cool and rainy yesterday, but the cooler weather slows down the flooding. So far everyone is fine, we will see as time progresses. Linda, enjoy your retirement party!!! Janet, hopefully you have the house back to normal and will be able to relax tonight!!! Candice, is all your snow gone?

Candice, glad you are safe and sound at home!! It is lovely to travel, but also lovely to come home. It sounds like you had a grand time AND stayed close to your food budget! Great job. Nothing much going on home here. Got home from work yesterday and was pretty beat. We had a busy day at the nursery and didn't get a break for Lunch or for sitting down, was constantly hopping; So came home and 'mowed' the dog yard (It is narrow enough to just weed est. But didn't rake it all back up. Hopefully tonight! Also tonight my truck should be fixed, so I can get some rock and bark to work on the yard. Looks like it is going to rain for the next few days. No flooding yet!! You all have a great day!

Morning ladies, Janet, I don't buy junk food. What I have been eating is 'real' food, just too much of it and too often. Yesterday was better. We where hopping at the nursery, so all I had time for was lunch and now inbetween meal snacking. All of my snacks are either fruit or veggies. But I did eat some almond butter the other day when I was starving and you know how many calories it has! It was almost 80 degrees yesterday, got a little burn on the shoulders, but it sure felt nice to be in the sun!!!! Nothing much else going on just work, school, and homework for school. Been doing some reading! Phyl, I know it is frustrating with the doc. Let us know when you find out if they can do surgery! Candice, enjoy the rest of your trip. Have you been hitting some cool quilt shops? Linda, it sounds like you have turned the corner, congrats on the retirement!!! Janet, hoe you had a restful weekend!!

Linda, glad you got a nap and some good company. You are right, it helps to get our mind off ourselves. I finally called and made a fill appt, I have absolutely NO restriction. I ate a sandwich, I normally can't. I even forgot to chew and still no problem. Unfortunatley the earliest they can get me in is May 31st. My pants are getting tight, a lot of it seems to be gas, sorry, to much info. But my stomach is bloated like I was 8 months pregnant. I have gone on a walk every day this week and have to work at the nursery this weekend, so that will help. I am starving, all I want to do is eat! I am way disappointed with myself! Also worked in the yard for an hour after the walk. Building more dripline. Another one down and 4 more to go!!! I'm very frustrated with myself. If it doesn't move, I eat it. Hell the doxies are starting to look good. I am eating a lot of fruit and veggies and protien. But I can't stop eating. Anyway, sorry to vent, I know I shouldn't go on....it will get better. Only 4 more weeks of school!!! yeah!

Linda, yep I have classes this summer. Two weeks on campus, then a two credit online course. I'm doing preclass homework right now. Well okay, I should be doing preclass homework, but I am really not in the mood. I have two weeks of weather data to gather, then a month of solar and lunar observations. Not bad except you have to take observations on a regular basis. Right now I don't have a regular basis on anything. More RIFing went on yesterday. We will lose 3 positions in the middle school. People are scared. I'm secure because I have been in the middle school the longest, But it means that everyone will have to have larger classes. We lost 2 positions in the elementary and I believe 2 positions in the high school, plus some of our classified staff. Basically we lost over 10% of our staff. Makes everyone grouchy and nervous. No Linda I haven't had a chance to get a fill yet. Since I am out of sick days and the doc doesn't take paitents after 4 pm, I haven't figured out how to go about it yet. Took the furries for another walk last night, their tongues were draggin. Came home and did a little yard work, then read most of the evening. Well should get busy, ttfn

Checked into flood insurance today, I am not eligible because the city doesn't belong to the National Flood Organization, so we will just have to pray. God will decide what is best and I have to leave it up to him. I can't see Him slapping me with a flood damaged house. I am on an old creek bed, now I understand the rocks in my yard. Evidently no one remembers the water ever getting this high, but we are expecting a '100 year' flood, what ever that means. I took the furries for a walk yesterday and today, man THEY are out of shape, I ended up dragging their butts the last 1/2 mile. That should keep them quiet for the night. We are in the low 70's, just glorious. I really enjoyed my walk. a first!! Probably walked only about 1 1/2 miles, but since I spent most of the winter on my butt, it is best to start out slow! Candice, what did you buy at the flea market, I DO love a good flea market! Janet, glad that you are feeling better. Phyl, what is the news? Linda, feeling better?

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

A glorious day yesterday. I came home and took the furries for a walk! Stopped at the city offices and asked about the flood warnings and whether my house is at risk. They said it was a possibility. So today I am going to check into flood insurance. Janet, is that something you can buy for a few months or do you have to buy it for a year? Nothing much else going on. Trying to work on some homework, but I am feeling sluggish, not in the mood. Candice how far are you from home? Linda, I know that you wish you were there to wrap things up, but healing is more important. Phyl, when do you have the bone scan?

Well was in bed before 8:30 last night and slept the night through, must have been tired. I will probably repeat that tonight and see if I can get caught up. Phyl, I'm with Janet, check out a second opinion. Although I know it can be hard to get. Candice, I love the creamers, but I want about double the serving size and that puts it into too many calories, even with the low fat or sugar free. But currently I am drinking mainly tea. Rained most of the day yesterday. Our ground needed it, it sure was drying out fast. Have a good one.

Hi guys, quick check in.. Linda congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know how much you love those grandbabies. Janet, I understand the Mother's Day thing. I have always just asked my kids to come and spend some time in the yard getting it ready for summer. But this year...not happening, nor a card, but I imagine those are with the birthday cards, Okay I being a witch. Actually I have a migraine, so I'm going to take my meds and climb into bed. Can't even read, I'm too sensitive to light. I usually don't get migraines, but I had junk food yesterday, so I imagine it has triggered something. See you all in the a.m. Safe travels Candice, how is Bridget doing? Phyl, keep us informed!!

Candice, I'm here, just got home from the nursery, Had a VERY busy day. I hope the $$ was good. The boss says we are down $35,000 from this time last year. Scarey, but we were busy and sold a lot of big trees. Came home, bought groceries, cleaned up the doggy piddle, not happy. Should be doing homework but I am going to ignore it for right now, too tired. Four more weeks of school, then 2 weeks of on campus class, then 6 weeks of online class. But then I can relax for a few weeks before school starts again. But next summer will be better. I will have my masters by the end of the first week in July. Which will mean a pay raise and no more class. I think I will splurge and do something outrageous, like go out to dinner... Oh I flirted with a cute guy at the grocery store. Yep straight from the nursery and I looked like crap. But he was that dark mysterious type and I couldn't resist. I should say I shamelessly flirted, but like I said, I had hat hair, no makeup and a wind/sun burn, Oh just SO attractive. Anyway, I hope you all had a good Mother's Day. I'll call my mom tomorrow. I'm just too tired for the drama tonight. I am going to ignore my phone as well, just not in the mood. The older lady at the nursery who THINKS she owns the place, she came with the nursery when my boss bought it, road my butt all weekend. There wasn't anything that I could do right. At one point I almost ran her over with my car when she told me where to park. I have worked 6 Mother's day weekends, I know where to flippin park. I am going to have a chat with my boss next weekend about 'who' is the boss. Because while I love this job, I don't have to be treated like a two year old!!!! Sorry, just needed to vent!

Happy Mother's day. I hope your children spoil you rotten! Work at the nursery today, then home to do laundry and grocery shop, not much exciting going on. DD#2 picked up my tile yesterday in Idaho, so hopefully in a couple of weeks my bathroom will be done!!! can't wait. Have a good one!!

Busy putting in more drip line. I hate moving hoses, so I cut and splice until all I have to do is turn the water on and open and close valves. My mechanic came over and pulled the carburator out of the Beast. He is putting in new guts. Cost for parts and labor...$140, man I love that man!!! He is a 'car whisperer', I know sounds strange, but he says he can 'feel' their aura and they tell him what is wrong. I'm sure that he just knows cars so well that he can diagnose just by listening, and darn if he isn't always right! Of course he also said that my CRV was a girl car and that her name was Honey....okay, what ever floats your boat. He is this scrawny 62 year old that women fawn over. I just don't get it. I love him, but I definitely am not 'fawning'. Roughish day at work, people are getting 'the visit' from their administrator...better known as a rift. Everyone is on edge and waiting to be next. I have more seniority than everyone in the middle school so I don't have to worry, but it sure has been hard to watch. Especially since they waited so long that many of the teaching jobs are snatched up already. Most schools let their employees know by the middle of April at the latest. I work all weekend at the nursery and it will be crazy even though it is suppose to rain all weekend. Candice, if Bridget can't behave she needs to go in her kennel when you are gone. I hate doing it myself, but usually they feel safer. Hang in there. Janet, yep it is Friday, two whole days not to think about school. But if have a bunch of homework I have to do for my June class, so much for thinking I had a few weeks off! TTFN

Janet, I'm here, had a hair appt last night, got new low lights and highlighs. So by the time I got home I had dinner and read and went to bed. My hair turned out nice. It had faded so much that it didn't have any depth, of course it had been since October since I got color. My hair dresser had her 18 month old GD with her. What a cutie, so I practice my grandmother skills while she was doing my hair. Candice sorry about Bridget. Try leaving her a novel treat, I have a couple of hollow bones about 3 inches long. I stuff them with different things everyday. Because my furries are a little on the chubby side I use mainly Pupcorns, but I always put something different in the middle of the bone, Some days a carrot, others a soft doggy treat, even a little peanut butter or canned cheese. Also you may want to consider putting her in her kennel with a a cover on it. How about leaving the tv or radio on. Also I think the 'dog whisperer' talked about leaving for a few minutes and giving her lots of praise when you come back for being quiet. I'll have to dig up my book and do a little reading. Running behind this morning. I thought I hit 'snooze', something I rarely do, but actually shut the alarm off, woke up a 1/2 hour later, yikes. I could have slept all day. That wouldn't look good. Well, best get busy, at least it is Friday!!!!

Janet, I'm with Candice, what went on with the doc? Or is it that after a week he STILL hasn't returned you call with your lab results. Remember, you are paying him, and it isn't worth your time or money if he isn't meeting your needs. Phyl, thanks for the info on the NSAID, my arthritus is horrid lately. Wake up every night with shoulder/back pain. My hands don't want to work. So next time I go to the doc I'm going to check it out. Quiet night last night. I read for most of the evening. There is definitely something said for curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. Candice, look at all that room!! I love your camper!! You must really be enjoying the space. Does it have bathroom facilities? You all have a great day!!

Linda, I avoid vicodane as well, not because it makes me ill like Janet, but because I REALLY like it. I can tell I would become addicted in a heart beat. Stressful day at work today, community is voting whether to pass the levy or not. If it doesn't pass many personel will lose jobs and I can kiss any classroom monies goodbye. It is also teacher appreceation (sp) week and in the middles school we are sitting here without any recognitions. High School gets a luncheon, brunch, and treats in their boxes everyday. Elementary get something everyday, from a gift bag to a tree. So I guess we don't exist. Not that I really want the stuff, but I would like the acknowledgement that we exist. All so got an email from the person in charge of a Water education program that I have been accepted into for the summer of 2012, I get material, credits, and $200 a day for a week. Well, evidently my superintendent has not approved my being allowed to participate. He has only had a month to decide. I finally stopped him and told him that the program needed a yes or a no, but they have to have an answer. His response..."Well how many days are you going to miss from school," (the program pays the district for any subs that are needed). Are you kidding me, you had a month to ask me that question, or even better, read the darn information they sent you. Okay enough bitching. Came home and vacumned my car out. I had hauled a big pot of dirt home from work this weekend and evidently when I had the window open a whirlwind occured and spread the dirt everywhere. Talked with DD#1 in New York, and she was telling me about the 2 tornadoes they had. Scarey. Has anyone heard from Phyl? Candice safe travels. Eat a catfish for me. I am going to try to find some next time I am in town.

Morning ladies, I agree with Janet, I love the virgin comment. Came home last night and worked on my drip system. Hope to get it going soon, managed to set up one flower bed. After that, tried to eat some dinner, but I was having amajor anxiety attack, so dinner didn't go down well. I am just feeling overwhelmed. I wish the world would stop for a couple days and I could get off. So bailed on dinner, had some kashi and yogurt later, read, did laundry, fixed the door that was trying to fall off and went to bed. I'm just tired, Over 6 weeks working 7 days a week always takes it tole about this time of year. I'll take a day off from the nursery when DD#2 comes up so we can lay tile. Well, short night and long day ahead, so I best get at it, TTFN

Morning ladies! Sounds like everyone had an eventful and fun weekend. Janet, thanks for the advise on the tile. While I love the dark one, you are right, it will get dated soon., plus I will be stuck with that color for EVER. Tired this morning. I need some down time. DD#4 came homelast night, so I had to cook dinner. I guess she is going to speak to the senior class tomorrow. She bought the new Harry Potter movie. I didn't see it when it was in theater, so we watched it last night. A lot of people said they didn't like it but I did. I think I will have to go to the theater to see the final one. The conclusion will be so much better on the 'big' screen. Phyl are you home? Candice, how much longer are you traveling? Today is suppose to be 66, I can't wait. Unfortunately then we have another front come in. I hear that Osama Ben Laudum has been killed. While I am never in support of killing someone I DO support the death penalty. (Sorry about discussing controversial stuff.) Yep and she can't spell either. Maybe now we can move on as a country.

Morning ladies, don't you know it is all about the hats! Personally I love hats, but I didn't catch the wedding so I can't comment. But I do remember the ones at Diana's wedding and they were hilarious. Work yesterday and today. Had to muck out the fish pond (the fish live in a small pond in the greenhouse for the winter). It had an entire forest of leaves and water from the winter. Let's just say if I never smell another decayed leaf it will be too soon. Got is scrubbed down, set back up and the fish moved. Basically spent most of my day on my head. But it is done for the season and looks great! Came home and planted a few plants and took shower. Then read for the night. Too tired to do anything else. DD#2 browsed tile for me in Idaho Falls and found some nice ones for a really low price. I'll send pics of my two favorite. I did find a killer deal on a few tiles in a marble mosaic when I went into town. They were normally $20 and I got them for $5. There were only 5- 12 inch tiles, but it is enough to put a back splash above the sink and stove if I find a nice bisque color to go with them. I'll try to find a picture of them and email it with the two favorites for the bathroom. We discovered that when the people put in the tub surround that leaked, they covered up a small window, so I am going to replace the window with those glass blocks and it will bring in some natural light into the shower. Well, need to get the laundry started and some breakfast. Check in later. You all have a glorious Sunday!!

Denise, sorry about your friend, I hope they find out what is going on, sounds like some type of virus. Janet, come on, call the doc. But I'm the same way. I don't really like dealing with docs, even though DD#2 is one. Nothing much went on last night, REALLY tired. Just am in a lousy mood. School is just being irratating. We are $250,000 short for next year on the budget. But do we cut sports or anything non-educational...NO. We cut the position of a lady (one of my quilting friends) who has worked for the school district for 40 years. The savings of cutting her is a whopping $6,000. Are you kidding me. Just feeling frustrated. Got my final grade for my sememster's master's class,..98%, so even though I got a B on my paper I am not going to complain. Okay, yes I am, I worked too dang hard for a B. Going in tonight after school to look at tile and laminant. I have enough saved up to buy the tile and part of the laminant. I may just buy both and put some on my credit card. I have enough $$ coming in over the next 2 months to cover it. Well, best get going, you all have a great day!! Yep Janet, when I have time, I'll hit you up for food journal ideas.

Denise, I really don't care if I lose any more weight, I am slightly below what Dr. Ortiz recommended, I want to maintain. I can maintain as long as I don't become obsessive. When that happens all I want to do is eat. So with my new mindset food is back on track. It may not always be solids, but it seems to work for me. Tonight I am having curry coconut chicken a a tiny bit of rice. Yep I know I should add veggies, but I had a good serving of raw carrots for snack. These are the things the doc doesn't want me to eat, carrots, blueberries, grapes because they are too high on the glycemic scale. But if I don't snack on sweet things I go for the chocolate. I tried eggs for lunch today and I almost puked them up after 2 bites. So went for popcorn. Again this would be things the doc doesn't approve of. But, what I did before worked so I'm sticking with it!!! And yes, I can handle it if you all yell. I am working on adding more solids, but I love my Blueberries/Kashi/light & fit yogurt for breakfast. I have added deli meat and a small piece of cheese for lunch, but I also love cheese and apples for lunch. AGAIN too high on the glycemic index. I am mostly over the grade issue, time to move on. Came home and quilted. My carpenter fixed my kitchen drain. I now have 2 sinks again!!!! He started ripping out the bathroom walls. I found a devine tile for the bathroom, so I will email it to you all to get your opinion. Well glad everyone is enjoying their trips. Linda, hang in there. Is there some type of handwork you could do. I crocheted 20 hats during recovery. It was mindless, but kept me from going bonkers. Enjoy your evening. Janet, what's up?

Sorry I haven't been in, I am struggling a bit with life.... I got a less than expected grade on my final project for class that I broke my butt off for. I lost all my points because of formating and what really ticks me off is that I asked the professor specifically how to format what I got wrong because I didn't understand the instructions. All he did was send me back to the instructions. I can't rip him a 'new one' because I have him for more classes. I am really struggling with food. I think I have figured out why. The entire time I have had my band I have never felt like I am on a 'diet'. Now that the doctor is nagging me to eat this or not eat that and I have to keep a food diary, I can't stop eating. He is resistant to giving me a fill because I am 'eating' the wrong stuff. Well all that 'stuff' allowed me to loose 95 pounds. So I am to the point I am going to fill out the diary to make it look like I am eating the stuff he wants and go in and get a fill. I can't live obsessing about food. I'm hungry ALL THE TIME and I have never really been hungry before. I know you may all yell and I probably deserve it, but I can't live that way.

Denise, good to hear from you! Glorious day yesterday, sun shined enough that I got a bit of a sunburn. Planted 13 shrubs. The house is a disaster, but I don't care. NO HOMEWORK until June, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just in time to dig in the dirt!!! Food was good yesterday until the evening. I didn't stop for lunch, had a good dinner and then disaster struck. The neighbor brought over homemade rolls. Ate one with butter (but just a little butter) and ice cream. I don't know what the heck the ice cream was doing in the house....okay I know, I bought it as a reward for finishing my classes. STUPID. Today is another day! Janet, I totally understand what you are saying about a lot of commotion in the house. I don't do well with it either. Mainly because I rarely watch TV and anyone who visits always wants it one. Carpenter comes this week to fix the bathroom walls and drain in the kitchen. Best get busy,
