Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Well I officially have the time off to go on the July trip, whowhowho. Dinner was good tonight, had 1/2 c of spaghetti sauce, no pasta, big salad, 1 slice of rosemary bread. I wanted the bread, so went without the pasta. I also splurged and has a small glass of wine. I usually don't have wine, but today at work it was crazy. We actually sold more today than we did over all of Mother's Day weekend and we only had 3 people working. I also took a hard look at ice cream. I love ice cream and not willing to live totally without it, so instead bought some sorbet. Calorie wise, 1/4th the amount. I KNOW I should live without it, but right now I can't. Phyl, you need to email me your address and the amount I need to send.

Candice you had a good food day, congratulations. Did you get the quilt pieced together? Maybe you should think about sewing the blocks into quarters, then quilting the quarters, machine sewing the tops together with the batting and backing folded back. Baste the batting together then hand sewing the backs together. It is like the 'quilt' as you go process. I can show you in July. I did my quilts that way until I got my midarm quilter. It is way easier on the body. I figure by the time I get to my quilt room, everything will be new to me. DD#5 leaves today to go spend the summer with DD#2 in Idaho Falls. She has a job with BLM and will live with DD#2. I'll miss her. You all will be proud of me, DD#4 'told' me that she was bringing a set of twins home to babysit last night. I told her no, that right now the house isn't baby proof and that there was not way I was letting a couple of 2 year olds in that could chock on something that wasn't put away. Her solution...she didn't come home last night. Her choice. School is over for the year and she will either come up with $$ or get busy doing chores. We have had the talk, now I just need to stick by what I say. Yeah right. Food yesterday was excellent, okay, good. I had blueberries, yogurt & Kashi for breakfast, a protien drink for lunch, and a bowl of low fat ministroni soup with a sprinkle of cheese. Before bed time I had a small custard sized bowl of Kashi & milk. I really wanted chocolate, but there is none in the house so I settled for the kashi & milk. Not enough fruit & veggies, but I am out. Tonight after work, I'm getting some salad stuff to have for lunch tomorrow and some tomato soup. A friend of mine picked me up a watermelon and strawberries so I will have them for this coming week. Well need more coffee, TTFN

I'm still sticking today, it must be in the air. Had a protien shake for lunch and don't feel like eating dinner. I got a lot done today, garbage dump run, gravel put in the floor of this cheesy tin shed that came with the property. Had enough gravel left over to put some in the driveway. Planted a tree, moved a pile of wood so that it isn't in the front of the house. Organized the 'garden shed' as it is now called, the tin one that I put gravel in. The light gravel really makes it more useable. The only bad thing was the DD#5's boyfriend shut my hand in the tail gate of the truck. didn't break it, but it hurts like hell. Cleaned up the yard a bit. I was suppose to go to a school bowling night, but it is clear in Missoula, 30 miles away. I decided to spend the last night with DD#5 before she leaves for the summer. Plus I have to work tomorrow. So I am staying home and being lazy. Hope you all have a good evening. Phyl, I know it is too late, but I love Red Robin's French Onion soup. but I bet the tortillia soup is good.

Phyl, go on some liquids for a couple of days or mushies. If you have been vomiting you are probably swollen. If it some rest. Then have a hot beverage before you eat, maybe that will relax everything. I've been struggling with being tight for a couple of days, but I am better in the evening after I have coffee. But last night was a no, I actually made stirfry, DD#5's favorite as a last meal before she leaves for the summer tomorrow. But after 2 tiny bites I was stuck on that. I had to kick out a student yesterday. He was throwing stuff across the room during a lab. I asked him to stop, he didn't, went over to talk to him about his behavior, and he had his cell phone and IPOD out. Neither are allowed to be 'out' during school hours, so I took them to be sent to the office for the parent to pick them up at the end of the day. At this point he looked at me and said, "You are such a bitch." Had we been alone I would have said, "Yep, you are right, what's your point." But since it was loud enough for the entire class to hear, I had to remove him from class. Class was great after that. I'm sitting here stuck on coffee. grrrrrrrrr.

Phyl, your hip probably hurts because you are compensating for the knee that needs fixed...a thought anyway. Janet, gorgeous flowers, yep I'm avoiding the inside. Just got an email that my sister and her big @$$ed RV is stopping by on Monday, great. Candice, question...said with love...Do you really want to go back to work? Could this be part of the food issue? Like I am one to say, right now I am struggling to eat anything solid, half the time I am sticking on liquids. Phyl, brown stuff...that could be blood. Maybe you should get it checked out!! Laid down for a short nap, DD#5 was suppose to wake me up at 5:30...forgot...I got up at 7:45. Nice...

Janet, I know, I'm just perpetually tired right now. Tuesday did allow me to recharge, but I'm looking forward to Saturday so I can get some yard work done. I feel the need to dig in the dirt. Get my glad bulbs in the ground and plant a couple of rose bushes. Plus the kids at school have a bad case of spring fever, heck I HAVE a bad case of spring fever. But not too many weeks left. It is suppose to be a glorious weekend, in the 80's. I may jsut have to shave the old legs so I can wear a pair of shorts, but I will have to remember tons of sunscreen. D#5 heads to Idaho Falls on Sunday to start her summer job. She will be living with DD#2, earning her keep watching their furry for 2 weeks while they go to Alaska. I hope that all goes well. DD#4 actually came home for the last 2 days with a much better attitude. At least she wasn't surley and actually did a few things. Linda, we are so glad you are here, hang out with us!! We are stronger when we are here to support each other. Well suppose, best get ready for work, but it is Friday AND I think I will come home and take a nap!!! I want to get the BBQ cleaned up and filled, I'm hankering for some BBQ'ed flesh. Maybe I can eat that without getting stuck. Next week I hope to get back into the habit of walking the furries after school. They will have so much fun sniffing out the new neighborhood! Well, best go TTFN

Hello everyone, I have been trying to eat something for dinner, unfortunately everything I try, I stick, so I have given up and having a protien drink. I hate when I get this way. anyway, had a good visit with my realtor & WIFE, he knows better than to bring someone new to my disaster of a house. They brought a house warming gift and a really nice note. Hope you have a good evening, tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! can't wait, I need a day off.

Candice, you and me both, I haven't even had time to finish reading Beck. Actually, I'm not even sure which box it is in...sad but true. My realtor is stopping by for one of my lattes. It will be nice to see him. He is a real inspiration, 12 years ago his family had an intervention for his drinking. The family was told that if he didn't agree to go into rehab within the first hour that it would be unlikely that he would. Two hours later, he still hadn't agreed, but before the night was over, he did go into rehab and hasn't drank since. He is active in AA and frequently gives talks about his addiction. His family never gave up on him. So...if he has controled his alcohol addiction, we can control our food addiction. Granted food is more difficult because you must eat to survive, but we don't have to eat sugar. We all need to remember that we can 'beat' our addiction

Good morning ladies, I'm dragging today. But today is Thursday, having a tough time keeping in eyelids open. Okay, just wrote a sentence & was on the wrong keysl that's what I get for typing with my eyes's closed. Well maybe more coffee will help, it better.

Janet, you would run a hell of a fat camp. 1st, just advertise your before & after pics and the entire world would be at your door step, me included. 2nd, you tell it like it is, which we all need. Food was good until...DD#5 came home with boyfriend and college friend AND brought Little Debbie peanut butter wafer things home. I ALWAYS get stressed when we have extra people in the house, especially now with it being such a disaster, then you wave peanut butter & chocolate under my nose...ate one, didn't really enjoy it, but ate it none the less. They better be gone before I get home or they are garbage!! Yesterday did me a world of good. I slept in & took a nap and feel awake for the first time in months. Got bills paid and taxes done for the teachers in China. Got the water plant order together for the nursery. Paid my own bills. Yep, my vet is cheap, but she is good. She travels in her vet van because she doesn't want to deal with office personel, plus she says, "There isn't anything better than a good roadtrip." Think middle age hippy. I just love her. She never leaves until all furries have given her a lick and taken a treat from her. Phyl, it must be just horrid for your sister. Hope they figure it all out. Phyl....GET THE DOG!!!!!!!!!!! And tell Earl, he has his airplanes, you have a furry. Life is too short not to have a furry on your lap. If he doesn't like it, tell him to 'bite it'. Besides, I like the idea of forced exercise. Well time to get ready, TTFN

Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Phyl, get the dog!!! I know I have to many in the house right now, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Even today when the vet bill was $170, it is worth every penny. But my traveling vet gives me a discount because she knows I can't afford much. The $170 was for 2 rabies shots, 3 bordidella (kennel cough vaccine), 1 distemper, another 'puppy' shot I can't remember, the cats blood work and cortizone shot, and physicals on all 4 animals. Simon is going to have to have a lump removed (could be cancer) and his teeth cleaned which will require anesthesia, but the vet says he can wait until I can afford it, unless the lump starts growing fast. Janet, I'd sign up for that fat camp!! Food was good today. Normal breakfast, 1 oz of cheese for lunch, 1/2 c chicken chowmein, bag of smartpop kettle korn.

I slept in today, because I am playing hookie. The vet came and I just wasn't in the mood to deal with students. Anyway, the vet is perplexed with the cat's hair loss. She thinks it might be an internal issue. She took some blood to check out for liver & kidney function. She also check blood sugar and it was LOW. She says she has never had a cat with low blood sugar. She is going to retest it and talk to a specialist. The vet gave the cat a cortisone shot to help with the skin issues and arthritus. The rest of the furries got shots, etc. Simon has a lump that the vet in town said was a fatty lump, but it isn't. So Simon with have to have it removed. Poor Simon, he always has something going on. I am going to spend the day trying to find bills and paperwork and maybe take a nap. I slept in until 8:30, had REALLY strange dreams. I usually don't dream with my sleeping pills, but it had my friend in them that was killed in May of last year. It was nice to see him, he was a handsome man, longish black curly hair and gorgeous eyes. As well as 'other' attributes that can't be discussed in polite company. Oh well, trying to eat Breakfast, but it seems to be sticking. Check in later, TTFN

Candice, the Consignment job would be in addition to the nursery job. Janet, I'd be 57 in six years so there is no way I would risk my retirement. I am not a gambler. But I might consider working there full time. Who knows, I'm not going to plan on anything. I am staying home tomorrow. I am tiredk and real grouchy, so it is safer for the students to not be there. Also Bailey the cat is not doing well. Since Saturday she has lost a 2 inch by 3 inch swatch of fur. It looks like it just fell out. The area is hot and bumpy. Also her arthritus is really bothering her. So the vet is coming by. I hope the skin issue isn't something really going to be a problem. If it isn't something that can be treated and it is just going to get worse and more painful I am prepared to have the vet put her down. She just is having a rough time getting use to the new house and stairs. Denise, did you get your DH into the doctor? Candice, focus, exercise, you can do it!!! I'm working on it to, I ate more junk food this weekend at work than I have for over a year. Hey Phyl, where are you?

Morning Ladies!! Hope you all had a restful weekend. It sounds like Janet shopped till you droppped!! Sounds like you had too much fun. Janet, you will get the sugar worked out of your system. You always do. Would love to stay home and sleep, not what I can do, but I'd sure enjoy it. Watched the Jesse Stone movie last night with Tom Selec. I didn't realize the author had dies, I did enjoy his books. Well, best get moving, TTFN

Well, today was busier at the nursery, that will help the boss. Only not so good thing...I backed into a customer's truck with the loader. The nursery insurance will pay for it, but I feel really bad. Have found an additional part time job. One of the ladies at the nursery owns a consignment shop, so I asked if I could work there. She said yes. She also is looking at buying the nursery and asked me if I would be interested in buying it with her in 6 years...it is something to think about. I'd really love to, but I dont' know how much of a risk taker I am. So I need to give it some thought. Anyway, watching a movie, so I'll check in tomorrow. Hope you all had a good Mother's day. Hanet, it sounds like you had a good weekend.

Home from work. It wasn't our typical Mother's Day. Too cold, we couldn't even bring the annuals out of the greenhouse. Normally we have people lined up to pay and have to have an employee direct parking. Not today. I could tell the boss is worried. I know she counts on this weekend to pay for what she ordered. Hope tomorrow is better. Half the time I had to 'find' work. Weather & economy. Came home on DD#5 & boyfriend cleaned the kitchen and my bathroom, sweethearts. DD#4 is no where to be seen. Her pal turned 21 today, so I'm sure they plan on being drunk for most of the weekend. Should we study for finals, hell no. Well, time for another latte, I've had a hot bath to get warm and will probably eat cereal and yogurt for dinner. Fancy meal tomorrow...cereal and yogurt. DD#1 sent pics of my dad from her wedding, naturally had to have some tears, if I knew how to post them I would, one of them just captures him. Wish I didn't just see him laying there dead. He got cold so very fast. His hands stayed warm for awhile, but then they even got cold. Sorry, a little pity party, best go get another coffee and forget it. Check in later

Linda, what a week. I think you win. What is it will all the deaths we all have gone through lately. Is it our age, that our loved ones are getting old. Or is the negative Karma. Who knows, but it still doesn' make it any easier Yep, DD#4 is the one who WAS in the nursing program, but she messed her grades up, so she won't be allowed to continue. She had full funding through Vocational rehab, books included and she has been 'playing' too much. Part of the problem is that she doesn't have a strong personality, she is a complete follower who doesn't know how to say NO. but that is really just an excuse. I think she went into nursing because that is what she thought WE wanted. I just want her to be independent and happy. But now she has lost her funding, so who knows what she will do. Her loss. Her friends have always been what I consider users. Her recent pal isn't much better. DD#4 is driving her to and from work, even though she doesn't have enough gas money to get HERSELF anywhere. When I rarely see her she is always with the pal. I haven't seen her alone in 4 months. But again her choice. DD#4 is afraid to tell her friends no, because she really believe they will dump her. She needs to go back into therapy, but again, not my decision. Janet, DD#1 lives in Syracuse, we where talking on the phone. Lately, I am so tired that half the time I'm typing with my eyes closed. Not good. She will give me a call on Mother's Day. Was a slug last night, didn't accomplish a thing, took a nap. Well need more coffee, TTFN

Janet, have fun on your weekend!!! We don't have a Marshalls, but when I lived in Nevada, I would stop at the one in Vegas. I remember getting some lovely things there, but that was a long time ago!! Phyl, good job on the exercise, I don't know that much about exercise, but I'm sure the trainer is right about giving the body a chance to recharge. Janet, don't kids just make you want to shake your head...and then smack them! How did the carpet turn out? Talked to DD#1 last night and she was telling me about a great job that she had for DD#4, but since her latest antics, DD#1 couldn't recommend DD#4. A full time nanny position that would have made DD#4 some good $$$$. From what I understand, there is a lot going on than I know about, probably a good thing. I guess DD#4 is not going to work regularly. I wonder if she isn't doing drugs, her behavior is irregular enough and so out of character. But this isn't my problem. She hasn't been home since Monday, and Monday was only for 45 minutes. Here's the really weird thing. Most of my spoons and bowls are missing... last night I went to get one and there were none in the drawer and all the dishes where clean. Yesterday morning there where several. I don't know if DD#1 is coming home while I'm at work and eating, or what. So I am going to go into her room this morning and see if there are a bunch of dishes stacked up. Sorry, I'm whining again. I need more coffee, so I'll check in when I get home tonight, TTFN

Candice, not only am I cheap drunk, I'm a cheak keep. I love to spend $$ on fabric, but not much else. Groceries now that I'm eating healthier cost more than I spend on anything else. So hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to go to town and 'splurge' on socks. I have plenty of summer clothes, well enough to get buy with. I only need about 2 nice summer outfits because I don't socialize much. Mainly work or work at home, that is grubby clothes. DeDe, the roofers wife, stopped by and gave me a hair cut. she did a fabulous job. Razor cut it just how I like, $15 including tip. So not only do I have a reasonable beatician, I have one who makes house calls. Doesn't get much better than that. I really need to do some paperwork tonight, need to get the taxes together for the teachers who are in China. Fortunately their CPA always gets an extention since they won't be in the country until June or July. Probably will be incredibly lazy tonight. I just hate being this tired. My daughter the PA, says it is just my body recovering from the last 4 months of being on an adrenaline high. I was to the point that I was thinking I needed to go to the doctor or something. But she says no, that it is just my old bod saying it needs some recovery time. So I have permission to be a slug. Can't get much better than that. Now if I could get her to write me a prescription for an afternoon nap, life would be grand. I am getting into a bit of a routine. When I get home, I immediately throw a load of laundry in rather than leaving it until the weekend. I'm getting to school by 6:30 am so I can leave by 4 pm. Lately, I'm too tired to get much accomplished in the afternoon. Friday is midterms, so that means the quarter is half over. only 4 1/2 weeks left. Of course when school is done, I have 2 weeks of masters work on campus and working at the nursery, so the first time I will get to slow down will be when we get together in July. I've asked for the days off, but haven't heard anything yet. Suppose I should go find some food. To tired to cook. TTFN

I barely think about calling my mother on Mother's Day. But this year I better. My girls usually call and leave a message since I work, it is always nice to listen to them after work. Janet, that is a good idea to crock pot it and then a bath. Janet, one more day and then your furlough day. Although you mentioned getting to sleep in this morning, so did you take Thursday off as well? Candice are you home? Phyl, you are a saint, I think I would have to hurt Earl personally. But then he spoils you in other areas. Just give him a gentle reminder, when he isn't in a pissy mood that he is acting a bit like his father. This he will deny, but oh well. It will make you feel better. yep I need to buy socks, but it will have to wait until next weekend when I'm not working. Typing with my eye's closed again. Not a good idea they may just stay that way. Well best get going, it will be more dificult to sleep walking. TTFN

Phyl, when we get together in July, I will bring my espresso machine and give you a lesson. However, Earl will find out that you don't save much money making them yourself by the time you buy decent Beans and flavoring. Plus since it is at home I have more than 1 a day, okay, I have 4, but it is my one splurge. I haven't even bought new socks, which I personally believe MUST be replaced every 6 months. Underwear and bras, heck those last years, but as soon as my socks get a little rough, out they go. I never wear holes in them, but they hurt my feet if they aren't soft. So I have lived without new socks for over a year. Once school is out, I'm buying some!!! Need to get my pond plant order together for the nursery tonight. By the way, I am starting to really enjoy this empty nest thing. So quiet!!! Relaxing!! Haven't seen DD#4 since our blow out on Monday. She SAYS she will do chores rather than pay rent, so we will see what happens this week. I suppose you all have Mother's Day plans? I have to work, which for the most part is fun. As I said earlier, my boss brings in lunch for us on Saturday & Sunday. We are 2 people short this year for retail, so it will be 2 long days, but it will be bonus days, so the extra $$ will be great. I do get a little teary on the way home on Sunday when I am tired & dirty and come home to an empty house. Oh well, no biggy. Sorry about the whine! Well time for another latte and a shower, check in later TTFN

Phyl, have Earl drop you off on the way to costco. Have the session with the trainer, you will enjoy the gym so much more if you know how to run the machines. Frigid today, can't seem to get warm!! Got my first watermelon of the year, not as sweet as I like, but watermelon is my favorite. So between the strawberries & watermelon, I'm set. Tired again today, my eye's don't want to stay open, I'll go my B complex shot this morning & see if that helps. Otherwise I'm going to have to come home & take a nap. Have a hair appointment with a new beautician. The lady who's husband replaced my roof. Well best get going, going to be running late, check in tonight. May have to come home & take a nap, TTFN
