Janet, No I don't buy junk food, during class, they provide an entire table of snacks, none healthy and we have lunch at the cafeteria. For the most part I brought healthy snacks, but I did find my hand reaching into the chocolate bowl. No excuse...But I am done now and Thursday I get a whole 2 days off...YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. After class we all went out for a couple of adult beverages and have work tomorrow, then my mother comes, bleck. -

Janet, I'd be melted by now! way too hot. We were in the high 80's yesterday and it was glorious, but anything hooter...I don't do so well. Linda, it is a huge weight of my mind dropping the class. I hope I can get some of me $$$ back, but if not...at least I can breath during some of the summer. I put all my pots on a dripline last night. If felt good to putz around outside. Food this week sucks. I am eating to stay focused, not so good. I can't wait until after today, no junk foo around and not sitting. That should get some poundage moving. Candice, sounds like your freied is a real trouper. She will enjoy your visit , have fun. LAST DAY OF CLASS, who hooo. It will be an intense day, but I don't really care I can make it through. You all have a great day, have we heard anything from Denise about her job yet? -

Morning ladies, I had an ephyphany last night....I can't do this additional class and be sane. So am checking into a four day class that will give me the same credits as this 6 week class. The new class is on archeology of plains indians. I have an email into the program coordinator to see if I can change. At this point I don't even care if I don't get a refund. Last night after my other class I needed to watch 4 hours of video and then do an additional 2 hours of other work. Plus a bunch of assignments due on Sunday, all for a 2 credit class. Guess what there are just not enough hours in a day. I am normally not a quitter, but I can't deal with this right now. Well class today and then only tomorrow left, yeah! -

Morning Ladies, Candice, thanks for the kind words. I am meeting with the prof after school today to figure out what I don't have figured out. Yep, I bit the bullet. I kind of put the 'fleece' out there, and put my mega quilter up for sale. If it didn't seel, then I wasn't getting my SIL. However, it sold instantly, so here I am. My SIL seems to be happy that I won't be paying here very much each month, so I'll just go with the flow. Man, I sure didn't realize how much 'dowloading' you have to do to start over. After the internet, then I had to load Microsoft Office, then my printer, then Adobe. I justg hope I got it all done. I haven't go to bed before 11 pm everynight and I am sure beat. I am 'skipping' lunch today so I can work on homework. That will get me a bit closer. But I sure would like to know who thought it would be a good idea to paint in the middle of everytrhing. The color for the living room just rocks. Now I need to ppick out the color for my bedroom. I think I found a nice one. Anyway, I better get going. Denise...any word? -

Okay, I am finally back on...My computer is still not working perfectly, the disk driver needs replaced, but I can live without that until my class is over. I just have to make sure I take it back before my warrenty is over. But I need it tonight to get started on class. I really, REALLY missed you all, you don't know what it has been like without you all! Okay, Candice, I sold my mega quilter and frame, so I get to buy my SIL's Sweet 16. I am sending her the $$ that I sold mine for and will make payments for the next 10 years. She seems to be fine with the fact that some months I won't be able to pay. School is horrid right now, I broke down and cried during class today. I just don't get what they are teaching. I know it is just because I am over tired, but I feel like such and idiot. I can't make sense of what they are saying. Phyl, take care of yourself!! Janet, sounds like you are busy working out, and funerals, bleck. Candice, I was told that if you garggle with vinegar your vocal cords would be better? Denise??? what is up with the job? Linda, how is retirement? Well, I have to go download all my class stuff and get started, I am already a day behind for my internet class, TTFN -

Hi guys, nope Janet, I don't get to sleep in. I have class for the next 2 weeks, so am up at 5 am. The reason I haven't been on is that I lost my hard-drive on my computer, not even paid for. but it is under warrenty, so I don't have to pay anything. The problem...I lost all of my masters stuff. I'm borrowing elyse's computer for a couple of days until my is fixed. I could just kick myself for not buying that external hard-drive. I WILL be buying one when I get my computer back. Next week I start my online class so will be busy. Denise..AYP, Average Yearly Progress. Our middle school science students rocked on their CRT scores, but the HS bombed, so we have to meet for 5 day's this summer to figure our what is going on...could it be that we only teach the elite in the HS. But because they did poorly, they get to tell us what to do...over my dead body, which the HS Biology teacher would gladly see. Anyway, I am here, but will only be checking in intermittently until I get my computer back. TTFN -

Got most of my pond dug, as soon as I finish everything I'll post some pictures. I have to not think about banking calories. When I do, I over eater later, I battled the chocolate demon last night and won. I had popcorn and a piece of jerky instead. Food was good yesterday. Didn't get around to eating lunch. Flooding in my home town is worse than a couple of weeks ago. The town is pretty much cut off from civilization. Unfortunately the snow pack hasn't melted yet it has all been because of rain. I guess the Clark Fork river that runs through Missoula is flowing at 4800 gal/min, normally it is 1500 g/min. Drove past it on Thursday and you could have surfed on it. Phyl, thanks for the hookup for Fire Mountain. Janet, did you get some rest last night? Hopefully your energy level is back up! Candice, has your company arrived yet. Remember...moderation. Plan treats & beverages. Well have to work, so best get ready, TTFN Have a great day!!! -

Janet, I even have a few trophies for my roses. Anyway, you are probably using "Safer Soap" which is excellent and safe. Be sure to spray the underside of the leaves, that is where a lot of pests hang out. Candices recipe is excellent as well. These won't work for powdery mildew or blackspot, for thoses check out Neem Oil. I'm not sure of the toxicity. I use to use Banner Maxx for fungus, but I am sure it probably is toxic. To avoid fungus, make sure that the plants are not too crowded that they prevent air movement. Also pick off affected leaves and it will help prevent spread. Also Dip your pruners in a bleach solution after pruning a diseased plant and between each plant. That will help avoid spread. Yep, last day done!!! I went out and bowled a round with our middle school staff and had an adult beverage. Came home early as I was tired. I have today off! Hope to get the rest of the pond dug!!! AND the sun is actually shining! Alexa, DD#5 had to make a rush trip back from Idaho. The house she rents in Missoula is under the threat of flood and they are calling for volunteer evacuation. So she came home to move all her stuff. Hope I get to see her...well, I'll see her when she moves all of her stuff into my living room. But hope to spend a little time, but I work all week end. Well, sorry this seems to be all bout me, I miss you all. Candice, great job, keep at is!! Janet, fill is good, congrats on the new baby! Phyl??? Linda?? Ddenise, glad you are back!!! TTFN -

Denise, I like the minatures for our climate, Jeanne Lejoie is my favorite. But you are right about roses. When I showed roses, I used lots of chemicals, but I quite showing and now I am down to only 3. I don't bother with spray anymore. Hugs on the school issues. Is the reconstruction the result of AYP? We have been lucky so far in meeting AYP, but this year I high school science scores were low. Even though my student's scores were excellent, I am having to justify everything. We are suppose to get new textbooks and I have always made the selection, but now even though I researched for over a year, the superintendent is making the selection. What a bunch of crap. I'm getting to the point I don't care anymore. Hang in there, I am sure that you will get your job back. Just through around the lingo and they will be impressed. Sad but true. You are a good teacher, so don't let them get to you!!! Last day!!! Just need to get through. Won't go into all the drama and pain's in my butt, but it will be nice to be done!! Food yesterday sucked, stress ate. Came home and got the last plant planted!!! Our field trip was cancelled because of rain and flash flood warnings. The students were great about it. I had all 80 of them in my classroom most of the day and I was impressed with how they conducted themselves. Nice thing was that I got most of my room packed up for the summer. Well, best get to it, have a good day. Oh Janet, I don't understand all the legal crap either, but I hope things work out. What a pain, not only do you have to deal with loosing a brother, dealing with lawyers can be such a pain, (huggs). -

cramerk replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Janet, for your roses you need good drainage and they like acidic soil. The love moisture, but not wet feet. So you probably need to add some compost, don't get steer manure, something like Eco-compost or any good compost that you have locally, then add some Soil-pep for drainage, and maybe some peat moss. If you have clay soil, add some sand. I use to mix equal parts of topsoil, compost, Soil-pep, sand, and peat moss. Thanks for putting the quilt machine in perspective. Yep I want it, but I can't justify $5000 now or ever. You are right, that would make a good dent on the mortgage. I'm going to say what you guys said, "I want it, can't afford it, so go ahead and sell it." If they offer to give it to me, you bet, I'll jump at it. But I can't justify that hanging over my head. Just got home from dinner at an old friends that I haven't seen in years. We use to be very close, even went on vacation together. We had a nice time and the steak was devine!!! I am going to clean up my BBQ and do a little more cooking. I had about 2 oz of steak, 1/4 cup of green beans, and 3 bites of potatoe and was full. So I guess my restriction is good. I also had a glass of wine. Overall a great evening. The river is rising fast, it even is making the news. could be interesting! Well need to do a few things before bed time. Taking the students on a field trip tomorrow, pulling weeds and hiking...the forecast...90% chance of rain. FUN an entire day in the rain with 6th graders. bleck. -

Phyl, men....can't live with them & can't kill them... Glad you made it home safe and sound. I hate when techy stuff goes down. I think it knows that we don't know what we are doing and gives us grief. But as soon as a tech person comes along, they get scared and behave. Glad you are getting some nice weather. We are raining off and on. Candice, use peat moss and coffee grounds to get your soil acidic. Also, I know that vinegar will kill weeds and grass. So I am going to use that from now on. I love creeping jenny and wooly thyme. I use the jenny in my pond as a water plant and the wooly time inbetween stepping stone. I have a delema (sp), my brother bought my SIL a new long arm quilter and she is offering me her old "long arm" (technically a mid-arm) quilter for $5000 (Candice it is a sweet 16). I can't afford that outright, but she says she will take what ever I can afford each month, even if it takes forever to pay it off. I want it bad, But do I need it??? Should I really take on another debt? Janet, I wish I could grow roses like you do. I use to have 150 roses in my yard, but now I only have 3. That is easier to take care off. I lean towards miniatures on their own root. That way if the die clear to the ground they won't come back wild. What type are you getting? -

Candice, thanks for the info on Roundup, I just assumed it was because it got into the water ways and then impacted the water plants. That is scarey. I won't be using it again. Especially with Elyse and the baby being around. Linda, we also just had a line of storms go through, but I got 2 more pots planted before they started. I don't have THAT much energy, it is just needing to get things done. I am looking forward to Friday, a day off!!!! I hope to get most of the pond built and then finish up the area inside the fence so I can sit on the deck and enjoy. I do want to know WHAT I was thinking when I thought those 5 huge maples were just perfect. I have never seen a tree that is so messy. I understand the leaves in the fall (2 pickup loads), but what is with the flowers, then the seeds, then the nector. My car is just coated with sticky stuff, so are all my plants and deck. I am wondering what the pond will be like when I get it done. I think I am going to have to cover it in the fall while the leaves drop. bleck!!! Well need some dinner. I sure am envious of your guy's trips...someday!! -

hum, Candice, I hadn't heard that about Roundup. Is it primarily because of it entering water ways? What do you guys use for killing off unwanted grass and weeds? Sorry I didn't make it in yesterday, some computer issues. Lovely day yesterday, we made it to 81, rather glorious. Naturally busy at the nursery. Came home and had a Mike's Hard Lemonaide light and sat on my deck for awhile. Then needed to fertilize everything and bait the grasshoppers. Of course after baiting the grasshoppers it rained last night. So much for the bait. Only 3 & 1/2 days!!! -

Okay Candice, how about if I just borrow him for a yard slave for a month? Crazy day at work. BUSY, nice weather, it was sweet. All the pond plants came in, so I had to clean and set up two above grounds pons to get the plants in water. Worked my tail off, but got it done. Today will be busy as well since our weather is doing great. Came home and Rounduped all the weeds. finished about 8 pm, so short night. Just trying to get things done! Have a great day! -

Phyl, keep us informed. I'll ask my DD and see if she has as soon any ideas why the doc would send you to cardiologist, remember she is a PA at Idaho Heart Institute. But I am pretty sure that is can't be critical or they wouldn't be waiting 2 weeks. I'd also call your regular doctor and ask why they made the referral. I'll also ask DD if there are other options besides the treadmill. So far so good with the fill. My portions are smaller and I'm not having trouble with sticking. I'm still not restricted enough, but I need to leave it for a couple of months. I know that as soon as I'm out of school that I won't care about eating. Yep, only 3 1/2 more days of students. For the most part things are going well. The kids are being great. The staff...not so much. With all the rifting and cuts, everyone is bitching. I am just about as bad as everyone else. Phyl, do you think your bead lady would mind if I joined the group that she allows to use her business # for FireMountain. I have my eye on some beads for a bracelett. That or I could send you the order with a check and you could have it shipped to me. Candice, how are things going with DD? Hang in there. By the way, you never answered whether I could take Mark home? (The guy who sings with you, can't remember the name, but he is rather cute.) Linda, how is retirement? I am so envious, getting to stay home!!! But only 10 years and 3 1/2 days....I'll make it. I hope. Janet, hopefully the last bit of legal stuff will go easy!!! -

Fill seems to be working, portions are better, but still too large, but I'm eating mushies. Actually I'm suppose to still be on liquids, but I was starving. So I moved to mushies. I will be glad when I am back to more restriction. But I am being good about what I'm eating. Had a bit of a run in at school with the special ed teacher. Ended up having a 'discussion' with my administrator. It went okay. hopefully I won't get into trouble. But this time of year we all get short tempered. It sounds like they are discussing whether to declare Montana a disaster area. Hopefully it will help people get back on their feet and rebuild. Only SIX more days of school. Then....well okay, then class for two weeks and 6 weeks of online classes...but I'll make it through. I haven't had time to quilt...okay just not the energy. How is everyone is doing well.... Janet, I bet you will be glad when all the legal stuff is done. It couldn't have been easy. Where is everyone? -

Yep, I got my fill, I should say a microfill, only 0.3 cc's, But we agreed slow is better. I am on liquids & mushies for a bit longer than normal just` in case. I actually had a little watermelon last night, chewed the daylights out of it, and all appears to go down well. My gain, let's just say it was way too much for 2 months. But it will come off. That is what the band does for me, I KNOW I can loose weight! Pretty boring night, which was okay, came home, drank dinner and read. A bit tired. Hopefully today I can get something done. -

Candice, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about your DD. Having been there twice myself, I can add these words of wisdom...will you be better alone? Because that is what you are looking at. Now I don't regret one of my divorces, he was psychologically abusive, but the other...I'm not so sure. I definitely didn't try to work it out. I have been alone for 17 years and for the most part it is okay. But raising kids alone is a nightmare and if she thinks the 'grass is greener' elsewhere she is a fool. What ever the problems are, you are half of it and guess what that half goes with you! Planted some of my pots today, okay 12 of my pots...I have a thing about pots. I have at least 4 more to go... Tired and my house is a disaster, but it will be there tomorrow! Janet, you are right, right now I am not eating the 'wrong' things, just too much. But fill is tomorrow and that will help get things under control. Have a good evening! -

Candice, I know it is hard, I'm struggling also. Hopefully a fill will help, have appt for Tuesday. You know we love you, and there is no tough love here, I know how hard it is to get back into the swing. I imagine after all your travels you have a carb and sugar addiction going. Drink lot of water, that will help to clear some of it out. I wish I was like Janet and never had a slide. She is so strong. But between you, Linda and I we can do it. The dreary weather doesn't help. My hometown is flooded to the roof on some of the houses and business. The area has a depressed economy already and this isn't helping. I will try to find some pictures to send you all. I love you all, just tired after work. Maybe check in later! -

Phyl, can I get in on that Firemountain deal? I love their stuff. Linda, get yourself a couple of basic beading books. Firemountain is great because it gives you ideas and patterns. It's FRIDAY!!! Only one for Friday to go!!! I hope to get my pots planted this weekend on my day off. I bought laminent for my livingroom, hall and bedroom. Shouldn't have, but I don't really care, It is only $$$$. Actually I got a good deal, enough for all three for $750, not bad. It has a 25 year warrenty, so it should last my lifetime! Truck is and the mechanics again, I guess the carburator wasn't the problem, it sounds like the fuel pump now, oh well. Work this weekend the Monday off, I can't wait!!! Janet, enjoy your 5 day weekend! -

Jackie, so glad to see you back!! We miss you, glad to hear both you and Courtney are doing well! Linda, Candice...we have winter storm warnings for this week. We could get 3 to 8 inches of snow! On the east side of Montana they have major flooding, in fact at one school the students got trapped at school and had to stay the night, Oh hell, over my dead body. I'd swim them across if I had to. Raining like crazy right now, I just hope I don't get trapped at school. To get home I have to go over the bridge that crosses the Bitterroot River. We still have a lot of room between the bridge and the river, but I'll be totally ticked if I get stuck at work. Getting stuck at home, well THAT is a different story. Food is WAY crazy right now. I'm not eating junk, but I can't stop eating. Last night went out to dinner with my friend who's husband committed suicide, had a reasonable portion. Came home, had a smoothie, then a bag of popcorn and was still cruising for food! I am scheduled for a fill on Tuesday. If they don't give me one, I'm going back to my doc in Kalispell, even with the drive. Not surprising, my friend is not doing well. Now that she isn't functioning on adrenaline, the reality of the situation has taken grip. She says she can't stay here, that she has to move away because everything is too hard. I didn't have the heart to tell her that the problem will follow her. I don't want her to leave, but I understand the reasoning even if I think it is faulty. Elyse had a job interview...get this, 50 miles away. Are you crazy! I think she applies for these unrealistic jobs so that she can say, Yep I found a job, but it would cost too much to get there. Phyl, I think we are getting more rain than you are!!! -

Morning folks, I guess I have really missed things on the news. I rarely watch the news, like never. Heck I wouldn't have known Aboma, the terroist not president, was killed if Elyse hadn't called to tell me. How sad to lose everything. Our house burned down twice, one to chewed wiring and one to a forest fire, and that was horrid enough. Well nothing but rain and more rain right now, I feel like we live on the coast. Need to get some weeds killed and can't until is dries out/ Linda, sorry about Cora, maybe they did it so you weren't working on your anniversary? Well we can hope. Had a nice visit with DD#1, she still can't talk about Elyse and the baby. I am sure it is about her infertility problem. My heart breaks for her. She is 33 and is worried that the opportunity to have a child is slippping away. I hear that Alex got stranded during work for 6 hours. She was hauling a trailer, think the boat they use to check people for PFD's & licenses on the river, and the truck quit in a dead zone. Work finally hunted her down when she didn't sign out at the end of the day. But other than being bored she is safe and sound!!! Candice, I'm with everyone else, between you and Phyl, you all make me tired! Phyl, hugs on the knee and back issues. I hope you get relief soon. Janet, a 4 day weekend, how lovely!!! -

Morning, awful quiet around here? Janet, now I remember you talking about no more furlough Fridays. Good for the $$ not so good for the sanity time. But that must mean that the company is doing better financially. Raining Cats & Dogs right now. So much for yard work tonight. But that is okay, I'll come home and do some quilting or reading. Maybe even cook a little dinner! You all have a great day!!!! -

Phyl, how frustrating. I hope the shot works to reduce the pain so you can get walking again. Linda, keep drinking our fluids. It isn't surprising that you caught a cold. You have been running on fumes the last week or so. Rest and catch up your energy. Busy day at the nursery yesterday. But I get next Friday off. No school and the nursery is closed. Hopefully I can get the rest of the pond done and set up!! Janet, it is nice to have a weekend without much you have to do!! Is this furlough Friday so you get a 4 day weekend? Not much going on here. Both of my science classes are completing labs over the nest couple of day. So pretty uneventful. Candice, when is your next gig! -

Well, the baby is a boy....what am I going to do with a boy? I don't even know how to diaper a boy. But Elyse went into town with me after school so we had a nice evening. Yes I bought some baby stuff. I kept drowling over the girl stuff, but found some boy stuff I could live with. What is the problem with the designers of boy stuff, it is all pea green and light blue. Don't boys deserve color? I had a chat with Elyse about how she is going to have to take charge if this baby is going to have half a chance. The BF's 6 year old son has already been suspended from school 3 times for violence and rarely makes it to school and NEVER does homework. He can't even write his name. I pray to the dear Lord that this boy doesn't take after his father. Okay, enough of that. The baby has all of his fingers and toes and all structures look good. AND that is the biggest blessing of all. Well it is 10 and I have to work tomorrow so best go.
