    Hunger Post-Op

You will be fine. It is almost shocking that your not hungry. You think you are but you are really not. The hardest part for me is knowing when I am really hungry or it is my appetite that is hungry. There really is a difference. Most of us that are heavier eat because it is satisfying. We have to retrain are thinking pattern to eat only till your not hungry, not stuffed but just satisfied. I use a dessert plate instead of a full size dinner plate.that way I am seeing a full plate.I am ready to go down to a cup saucer. I have hit a plateau an have to make more cutbacks. There are times when I eat alot an sometimes when a couple bites is enough. Food did not stay my main priority. You will start getting so much energy that you don't think about food.I had problems getting everything in that I was suppose to. But that is ok you will eventually be able to. Do not get discouraged. I have lost 115 lbs. Banding 03/08. You will have so much fun shopping an other things you avoided because of your weight you will want to do . Always here to listen or encourage.
  3. Ninner I have to commend you for your HONESTY! Thanks
  4. I don't think it sounds like a lot. I eat a lot more than that. B -1 c. Oat Cereal S -2 pieces of toast L -3/4 c. french fries,1 pc. fish,1 cheeseburger,no breads S - 1/2 c. Fried Cabbage with onions,1 bratwurst, no bread S - 2 slices Prov cheese,3 slices lean ham I have also hit a plateau. I have lost 115 lbs.since March 08. But I have started excercising to try an get off this plateau. I am getting my band filled on Thursday . It has been since November since I had it filled.

    I have SUCEEDED!

Only you can make this decision. But my experience thru all of this . I would recommend it to anyone with health problems especiall an weight problems. even if I do not loose another pound it has been worth everything I have gone thru good or bad. I will actually get to see my little boy grow up an I am also able to play ball an basketball with him now. The Lord will see you thru this He has gotten you this far He will see you thru to the end of this journeyalso!

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

I can relate about the size being small. I am down to 195 an I just got into size 8/10 jeans. I still have somemore to lose but excercising to get the skin tightened up now for summer. I have hit a plateau. Did you?

  11. Ask away? Not sure what all you wan to know.

  12. Hi there, just looking to talk to people who have had the lap band put in and what their experiences are/were like. Both good and bad. I want to know all the stuff that doctors don't necessarily tell you. I'd like info from real people who've done weither it's good or bad.

  13. I have had good results with my lapband. Post op (03-08). I have lost 115 lbs. I would recommend it to anyone. I was on 13 different types of medicine an was on my 8th surgery in 3 years. Nothing that is worth it is easy. But everything has been worth it all for these results. When you go from a size 30/32 to an 8/10 you have all the incentiive you need.I have never worn these smaller sizes since 2nd grade. I can actually walk in almost all stores an find something that fits me.But the main thing is I am off all medications an I am healthier than I have ever been. I have energy to keep up with my 5 year old son. I feel like I never want to sleep I have so much energy I want to keep doing an have to make myself go to bed. I thank God for allowing me to have the LP.My insurance would not pay for this to be done so we had to have the money up front . It was $22,000.00. Dr. Makami was my Dr. I couldn't of had a better or nicer Dr to go thru this with me. His office staff was tremendous an helped me with anything at any time. My LB did slipped in October. I had gotten the flu an I lost a lot of weight an the band slipped down over half of my stomach when I was getting sick. I had a 2nd band put in October 2008. Since than I have had no problems. I have started to hit a plateau as far as loosing. But that is ok with me I am using this time to excercise an tighten up the skin from loosing the weight. I would recommend this surgery to anyone with health problems. I didn't realize how much I was missing until I was able to lose the majority of the weight. May you all be BLESSED like God has BLESSED me thru this whole procedure.
