FabBy50 replied to Booklean's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Brookleen My starting BMI was 33, I'm now at 24. I was also self pay, I did not have a high enough BMI and no co-morbidities. Where are you having your surgery? And when are you planning to do it? Good luck and keep us posted!! -

FabBy50 replied to DeeDee58's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
DeeDee Welcome to the group of sleevers!! I had the band, HATED it, I now have the sleeve it is the best!! You will not be sorry!! Good luck on your journey, and keep us posted! -
Okay everyone!! Confession time for me too! I had a family gathering and my sister brought pretzels and jalepeno cheese dip. Okay for most of you that is no big deal!! But for me, that is my downfall!! I love salty foods. So I of course bought a bag of pretzels and some cheese dip, well I finished the bag in 4 days!! I told my husband NO more!So I'm not allowed to have them in the house, or I will end up gaining all of my weight back. So that is my confession and I'm back on the wagon!!

FabBy50 replied to girldep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way to Go Girldep!!! If you made it to day 10, you are doing good!! I cheated a little before that with yogurt! But you know the good thing, I really was not hungrey, it was just habit! You will love your sleeve, and food will no longer be your best friend!! Good luck! -
Hi Ishary I post on both too, if it is because of nasty people, you will find them on both sites. Sorry that is just the way is is, some people have nothing better to do than hurt people's feelings! I wish you all the best!! My name over there is bdette49, see you there!

Alex Thank you very much for answering everyone's questions. I think this will help people understand why "certain" posts are deleted.

Boy can I relate to this topic! I have had a low sex drive for a few years now, and even the weight loss has not helped. Mine started after I went through chemo treatment, which sent me through menopause within 8 months. I cannot take testosterone because of the type of cancer I had, so I'm stuck. If I were you, I would grab that testosterone and hang on!! I miss the closeness that sex brings to a relationship.

Great job Cajun!!!! Keep up the good work!:lol0:

Hi Mini Me Just wanted to jump in and say I could have written this post!! I think I was in the same boat as you are. I lost weight, dropped sizes in my clothes but I felt like I still looked the same! I really did not see a difference until I hit the 50lb mark!! I have actually read about other people posting the same thing. All at once I felt much lighter, I dropped more sizes in my clothes and I could truly see a difference!! So give it just a little longer it will happen, and then you will say YES this is why I did this! Good luck!!

pre-op "what you wish you had known"
FabBy50 replied to citygal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Grace First of all congrats on your up coming revision!! You will LOVE the sleeve, and the weight comes off so much faster with the sleeve! I had the band lost 40lbs and that was that, could not lose anymore then started having trouble with the band. I have been to Mexico twice by myself. The things I would recomend are chapstick, sweats, loose tops, heating pad, gas x, slippers, robe and that is about it. I took my lap top last time and hardly used it, and it was a pain carrying it through the airport. I took the smallest amount of clothes possible, you are in a hospital gown most of the time so you don't need them. Just a carry on bag will be plenty. Oh I forgot I did take a book and enjoyed reading before surgery. Good luck and happy losing! -
My 1st Week's Experience Post-Op Sleeved!
FabBy50 replied to goodday's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Michelle Thank you for you detailed account of your surgery, it really helps pre ops to have an idea of what it is really like! So glad to hear that you opted for the sleeve, I made the mistake of having the band first...hated it! Your scars will be just little silver lines after awhile, I'm 3 months out and mine are just little silver lines. The ones on the sides are so small you can hardly see them. Yes your new stomach will definately tell you when you have over done it. I get a pain in my chest when I'm getting full. I have only pushed it past that once, and I did not like the amount of pain I had. Now when I feel that slight discomfort I stop. It is very hard to get your water in, especially in the first few weeks. If you are getting 55 oz in right now you are doing good. Just keep trying to get more in. I think one of the hhardest things for most of us to deal with is the fact that we can't gorge ourselves anymore, but you really won't want to. My favorite thing about the sleeve is that I can eat anything!!! I have not found one food that bothers me, I just eat smaller portions. You won't have to feel deprived at all. Good luck and happy losing! -
A small but significant event !

WONDERFUL job!!! You look great! -
New here - just had sleeve done
FabBy50 replied to EdZinVA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
CONGRATS ED!! Yes a lot of times you will come home heavier, but as you found out it falls right back off! Getting your walks in is very important too, looks like you are doing a great job! As far as the pureed foods, there are a lot of them you can grab on the go. Cottage cheese, yogurt etc. You will find that you are still able to do your cooking and go out to a nice dinner. My husband and I love to dine out, I usually make it through 1/4-1/3 of the meal. I just take the rest home with me. That has been very different for me, I used to clean my plate everytime!! You will be able to eat all foods, just smaller amounts! I have had NO problems and I have tried all foods. Good luck and happy losing!! -
Wannalise So glad to see you posting, and that you are feeling good. Sorry you had a bit of a rough start. You are to the point now when it is much easier. The first 2 weeks are the hardest, everything after that is gravy! Good luck, and happy losing!

I read about this lady too, and then I saw her on TV. Good LORD.....who would want that title???? I think she needs to spend some money on mental help, not just food!! SICK, sick person!
-
Tiffany I must be an old cogger, because I could never in a million years imagine doing that!! My big splurge is to get into a 2 piece bathing suit! I think the vacation idea is great, just not the naked, body painted part! Enjoy, and keep us posted on the budding romance!!

Dr. Aceves patient's...HELP!
FabBy50 replied to Dalisgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Dalisgirl So sorry that your family is giving you such a hard time. You are not the first one who has went through that, and I'm sure you won't be the last!! My family freaked out when I told them! They told me the Dr would kill me, or I would be killed by some of the drug lords!! Like I'm going to be wondering around Mexico all by myself! I can assure you we are real patients, just look at how long some of us have been on here and read our posts. Don't let them discourage you by saying that you will eat too much. The sleeve does not allow you to eat too much, I get a VERY distinct pain when I'm getting too full. You will not eat past that, believe me!! You also have chosen an excellant Dr. He has the best stats out there. You will be in very capable hands! Do this for you and your daughter, you will not regret your decision. Good luck and happy losing!!
