Hi everyone!!! I hope all is well. For me, my band is not so well. I have had one issue after another with it being too tight, then not tight enough, then too tight. Rigt now, drained. My doctor wants me to think about the sleeve. Does anyone here know of anyone who had it? He said there are people out here that the band just isn't the right thing for them and I seem to be one of them. He said he has success with the sleeve on people who did not succeed on the band. Any thoughts? Comments? Thanks! Carole

Not going so well for me, I am sad to say. My last post I believe was where the 3/4 cc was too much, so he drained the 3/4cc, we waited a few weeks and he put only a 1/2 cc. Well, that has done nothing for me and I am actually gaining. I go back to him on May 10th so we'll see what he wants to do. I am really discouraged HandInHand, that is great news about you losing. Keep up the good

Hi Winegoddesstx...yes, I did go back to the liquids for 2 days and then soft. When talking to my doctor he said he doesn't feel I am doing anything wrong. So we'll see what happens. He did say some people just don't do well with it.....it's like their bodies don't tolerate the band. But, I am not giving up yet!!!

I am off track again When I went to my doctor on Thursday to have a 1/4 cc removed, he felt it best to remove the entire 3/4 cc that he gave me the week prior.....rest everything and then start up again. So, right no I have hardly no restriction. I go back on April 12th and he will give me a 1/2 cc and we shall see how it goes. That is great HandinHand!!!! I am so proud of you. 6.2 lbs in a week is awesome!! :wink3:

I am actually going to my doctor today to see if I can a 1/4 cc drained. I went last Tuesday and got a fill of 3/4 cc, but I started to 'slime' on Saturday. I have lost 7 lbs since then and I am miserable. I can't keep anything solid down. Let's see how I make out.

It is so great to hear from all of you. Ok April Bandsters....lets get to it!!

That is great Kalipso. You give us hope that we will also get to our goal. Thanks for updating us and letting us know how you did.

That is great news!! Well, here we go, a new journey for us!!!

That was the first step....calling your doctor. Good for you!!!! I agree, I am glad to be back on here....it makes me realize I am not alone and it is also nice to talk to others in the same situation. I wish you luck and let's keep the numbers going down. (BTW, I changed my ticker this morning...but that is ok, it will start going down again).

Hi Handin Hand, I know how you feel. I feel like a failure myself, but I am trying to remain positive. I was so excited when I got banded and was doing great with it, until I had gotten sick and I have just never been able to get myself back on track....even after several attempts. So, here I am again. I really need to get myself motivated. My old Dr. changed toward me when I wasn't a "sucess" for him. He beame very rude and the last time I saw him, he had given me a fill, which was too much and I had lost 12 lbs in 4 days, so I went in to have some removed. He was so pissed that he must have stuck me like 20 times and finally sent me to x-ray so he could get in. After that I was devastated.....but I found a wonderful doctor closer to me and he really wants to help me. I wish you luck!!!!

Hi all. Well, I have been struggling too. I was banded in April 2008 and the most I lost was 58 lbs and now I am only down 30 lbs.....I had some issues when I got sick in September 2009 and had to have it drained....then I had some issues with Dr. Meilahn......I ended up hating him. So, here I am now, with a new doctor and just had a fill, so I am hopefully getting back on track. I really need this!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. That is what I need. My surgeon's assistant suggested I get involved in an online support group and I am so glad I followed her suggestion.

Hi everyone. I am new to this group. I was banded April 8, 2009. I was doing great up until December when I had foot surgery and became immobile. I was supposed to be "down" for 3 mos, but it is now 6 mos....but that is getting ready to change....I should be back up and about by month end. My struggle was I lost 60 lbs up until surgery. My dr. did say I would put weight back on because of being immobile with the band....well, I did and I an up 10lbs and digusted. I did just get a very small fill last week (the last 2 fills had to be removed because I couldn't even swallow water), but I just don't feel that restriction like I use to. It is very frustrating to say the least.....but I know I will get back on track!!!! I just need some support and that is why I am here. I see your weight loss so far and I am soo very happy for you .... it is very encouraging to me.

Hi everyone! Well, I went to my doctor last Wednesday and I lost 3 lbs since my last visit (November). Of course I was disappointed, but they were actually surprised I didn't gain since I have been immobile since beginning of Dec with the foot surgery. Anyway, I did have them give me a .5cc fill but by the next morning I couldn't keep even water down....so needless to say I had to get it removed. This is the 2nd time this happened. My last fill of 1cc I had to have .5 cc removed. My doctor said I may be where I need to be. Does this mean just for now and when I lose a significant amt more, I will need an adjustment again?

Hi everyone! I am new here, as you can see. I have been trying to figure out how to navigate this posting board. Can someone tell me how I can find this again?? I was banded on April 8, 2008 and I definitely have no regrets. I am down almost 60 lbs but feel I should be further along. I did have foot surgery in December so I have been immobile for the past 2 months. I go back to my doctor next Wed and fear I have lost 0 lbs since my last weigh in back in November. I know I need to get exercising........my downfall. I get motivated and then I STOP!! I am glad I found you!! I think this is what I need. Thanks! Carole:wink2:

NJ - Looking Fine in 2009 Exercise Thread
casjosh replied to SherryW's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone!! This is my first post. I have been trying to find out how to work this website!! :crying: Anyway, I was banded on 4/8/08 and I am down about 60 lbs (I get weighed this coming Wed). I definitely think I should be further along and really need to get myself motivated to exercise. I had foot surgery in December so I have been sitting/laying around for 2 months and it is time to get started. Does the Ab Lounger count? I can do that since I don't have to be up on my feet. I promise to get on it tomorrow. Thanks for this thread!! It's just what I needed.
