Well I did not have to lose wieght because I was not that big. Yes I weighed 270 but I am also 5'7. I have always been able to carry my weight well. Most of my weight was and is in my mid section, but they only will require you to lose weight before surgery if you are like really big. If they have not told you anything yet. I am sure it is because it is not a concern of theirs. I did take it upon myself to lose 8 pounds before I went in. I did that of course for obvious reasons, which are the healthier you are going on the better. I hope my answer helped =-)
