Hello and Welcome to LBT!! THis is the best place to find support and friends going through your journey with you! I wish the best of luck with your band and it's already changed my life over the past 3 1/2 months. If I could give any advice or words of encouragements: Remember tomorrow is only a day away and don't fret the small stuff. A brownie today is still a brownie tomorrow. (meaning it's ok to say no to "comfort foods" because they will always be there and there are a time and place for them:) ) :welcome:

Count me in!!!!!!! My goal is to be at 205 by Christmas!! I am currently at 230 and I have been at a standstill for about 2 weeks! SO hopefully this is the kick in the butt that I need! I to LOVE Christmas! It's been fun ready all of your Christmas memories, ideas and recipies. Our fun tradition we started in our family about 4 years ago is playing dirty Santa and Christmas trivia. Since most of the family is over 20 years of age (with the exception of my 2 little ones and my cousin's two new babies) we decided to do the dirty gift exchange and call it Dirty Santa! (this is where everyone who wants to participate brings a gift at a 25.00 value and we draw numbers and #1 grabs a gift , opens it and then #2 grabs a gift and can either take #1's gift or grab an unopened gift, then you keep going until all #'s have gotten a gift. We had to put a 3-steal limit on it! It can get pretty crazy in our family! We usually have about 15 people participating! After this is done, my aunt gets us all together to do Christmas trivia. She has a bunch of x-mas related trivia questions and the winner of each questions gets a Lottery Ticket. Good luck to all of you on completing your goals!!!!!!! Thanks Funny for starting such a fun thread!!

Telly: I have been off line for a few days and I come back and your Avator is changed to some scarey person! What the heck happened? Is this what kick -ass working out does to a person! LOL

MoOrless: The best way to work up to 45 minutes is to START NOW and I don't know what level you do. But here is what I did..........back in March when I started this adventure I was out of shape and I hadn't been on my treadmill since before my daughter was born the year before. So...I started at 30 minutes on 2.3 with a 2.0 incline. I did this for a week. Then the next week I did 35 min with on 2.5 w/2.5 incline. I did this for a week and then the next week I did 40 min and started with 2.5 and if I felt good increased it to 2.7/2.8. THen next thing I knew by the end of the month I was at 45 minutes at 3.0 with a 3.5 incline. I am now doing an hour at 3.5 with a 4.5 incline! OR the Eliptic machine (which I HATED at first and could only do 5 min.) I am now up to 50 minutes on the Fat Burner level. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Hello Everyone! After talking with trainers and reading LBT (of course) I have changed up my exercise routine. I am going on my 3rd week of this. Well actually 2 1/2 weeks since I started this on a Wednesday. Here is my exercise routine that I can honestly say that I am doing faithfully. M-W-F = 10 min warm up on Eliptical (fat burner level) 3 reps of 15 -20 of leg extensions, leg lifts, squats, calve raisers 3 reps of 15 -20 of several arm exercises (free weights, machine and ropes) 100-150 crunches 30 minutes of cardio on either Eliptical or Treadmill Tu - Th = 1 hour of cardio 100-150 crunches I was at a Hotel on Friday and wasn't able to make it to my local gym. SO....after coaching 3 games, walking around in Huntington beachfor 2 hours, I hit the Hotel Gym at 10:00pm and did an hour of cardio!! Needless to say I was dragging yesterday and my girls had an 8:00am game that I needed to leave the hotel at 6:15am for!! It's back to work on Monday!!!!!!!

AMEN....LaMadem!! I couldn't agree with you more!! I have now been officially tanning for 1 month in a half and I feel so much better. I got my base tan in a standard bed and now I am in the Euro-bed. THis has no UV light and it' equivalent to 6-standard tans. I only go once a week now! As for my scares, I have a tan tummy with a touch of red! I call it my war wonds!lol.........

WOW.....that's a scarey situation! I just finished up swim lessons with both of my girls age 5 and 1. I take them to a ladies house who does private lessons of 5 kids at a time in her own pool. It's every day for 2 weeks, 30 minutes at a time. My oldest daughter has been doing this for 5 years. (the past 4 years with the same teacher) She NEVER sent them down to the deepend until after the 3rd day. And what she did was start them in the shallow, they would swim at an angle to the middle of the pool. Stop, wait for all the rest of the kids to get there. And then start from the middle and diagonal to the deep-end. Then she would have them pull thereselves out of the Water and bring them all over to the deepend and then teach them how to properly dive in and then trail them to the wall until she felt comfortable with them swimming to the wall themselves. A suggestion would be to call a local highschool, JC, College or swim team and ask if they can give you a number of someone that they would recommend for private swim lessons. I only paid 60.00 for 2 weeks! Private (meaning that they will do it at there house or your's if you have a pool) I know it does cost a little more to have someone come to your house. Good luck!!

Hi Girls!! It sounds like all of you are doing great! I am with Julie on the Propel, that is my saving grace to liquid! The berry, manderaine orange and grape are my fav's. If you have an Albertsons in your city, they are $1.00 each right now. As for my weight loss, I am doing well. I was banded on 4-3-06 and I have lost 50-53lbs. Some days I have hit the 229 mark and others I am back at 232! I have told myself I need to only weigh on Fridays at the gym in the morning! I just love the fact that I can dry my clothes and know that they will fit the next time I put them on! My energy level has sky rocketed and I can FINALLY keep up with my energetic baby girls (age 1 and 5). This is defenitly a journey worth taking and I am so glad I have the support of my family and this great networking of "internet" friends! My goal is to be down 85-100lbs by next April!! I am half way there!!

Hi All!! I know I made a promise to Telly that I would post my workout daily, but I guess that's a lot easier said than done! IT's been a CRAZY two weeks; dance recital, double birthday parties (daughters turned 1 and 5), swim lessons and softball tournaments (I coach an 18-under travel team). My workouts are going great. My daily routine (the past 2 weeks) is as follows: 8:15-9:15am: get girls fed, dressed and ready for the day 9:30am: go to the gym w/girls (they go to the daycare) - 45-60 minutes of cardio (fat burn level on eliptical machine) - 3 sets of 35 crunchs - M/W/F: Arms: 2 sets of 25-35 of arm pulls, triceps, biceps - T/Th : 3 sets of 20 leg press, in/outs (thighs), squat machine, calves 11:00-12:00: off to swim lessons for an hour / Mommy and me w/1yr old 12:30: lunch 1:00: watch Days of our Lives and take nap!! (girls napping:) I have been taking the weekends off, because I need it and usually I am out of town for a tournament. It sounds like the rest of you are all doing great!! Keep up the great work!

I have a question for all of you.......I had my first fill yesterday and my doctor told me to be on liquids for 2 weeks. Is this normal?? I have heard that some doctors only suggest it for a couple of days. I would love to hear what your doctors are saying or what some of you have done. I have a 10cc band with only 1.6cc in it. I was wondering if it's liquids and mushies or just liquids. Please let me know. THanks!!
-
My doctor said that I am back on liquids for 2 weeks, yes because of my fill. Is that not normal? I think I need to start a new thread and ask, because I really don't want to be on liquids for 2 weeks!
-
I was so glad to know that I am not alone! I had my first fill yesterday and YES I did pass out!! It happened after I was numbed and as he was inserting into my tube. I told my doctor that he was loosing me and I was going under. THe next thing I knew I was on the floor and felt like I had been asleep forever. IT was only seconds but it felt longer! I have a very weak stomach and I used to pass out all the time. After having 3 pregnancies and many blood tests I kind of got used to needles so I haven't fainted in about 3 years until yesterday! I was so embarrased, my doctor is awesome and it wasn't caused by him poking around. It was caused by my weak stomach and we think because he filled me standing up. Next time I will be laying down during my fill to hopefully avoid this. I too was dizy the whole rest of the day. I couldn't imagined having a fill without the numbing solution so I guess I know to not schedule anything on the days of my fills!! Hopefully this will get easier!!
-
Hello Cheaters........jk I was right there with you!! I only lasted about 5 days post surgery on liquids and then off to mushies. That lasted about 2 weeks and then I started eating soft foods. I was calling my girlfriend who had the surgery in September and asking her about everything that I put into my mouth!! As long as you don't abuse it and are smart about what it is that your eating your FINE!! I lived on Taco Bell refried beans and cheese, cream of wheat and baked potatoes for 2 weeks. (that was during the mushy stage) I had surgery on 4/3/06 and I have lost 48lbs (as of yesterday). That does include the 17lbs I lost prior to surgery date. Everyone is different and all bodies are different, you will know what works for you. As long as your not over eating, eating fast, drinking things with sugar, drinking carbonated drinks, eating ice cream or picking inbetween meals you will be fine!! I can pretty much eat anything now ( I do stay away from red meat and breads), BUT I eat slowly and in moderation. That along with working out is the key!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!
-
Julie.......I had an "eventful" fill yesterday!! I passed out in the doctors office as he was about to start my fill!!!!!! I was so embarrased, but I felt it coming on so I was able to warn him and his nurse. He likes to fill the patient while they are standing up. I have a weak stomach and what did me in was when he attached to the port, it wasn't painful I could just feel the pulling. The next thing I knew I was sprawled out on the floor and felt like I had been to sleep for hours!! It was only seconds. My doctor is very good looking so that made it even more embarrasing and then as I was all done and trying to pull myself together I heard his nurse telling the front office staff..."that girl fainted on us, she just went under and fell to the grouund" My doctor was trying to be funny about it ....did I mention he is good looking and has a great personality!! (yes, I am happily married but it's ok to appreciate an attractive man) He only put 1.6cc in my 10cc band. He said he didn't want to over do it and the fact that I was loosing weight with an empty band he wasn't to concerned. I have another appointment in 8weeks. This time I will lay down for my fill!! As for my success so far, I think its the fact that I try to burn at least 700 calories during my daily work out. (I work out 5 days a week with at least an hour of cardio each day) Honestly, my eating habits arn't that good. But I feel that if I can burn off at least 1 1/2-2 meals worth of calories then I make up for the baked potatoes, pizza (only 1 piece), occasional bowl of ice cream or my favorite PE Orange chicken!! I eat a lot less of what I used to eat, but I still eat a lot of the same foods. (I know that' s bad, and someone will probley read this and lecture me!!) I look at it this way.. I had surgery to give me a tool to loose weight. I did not have surgery to end my life. I am still going to enjoy life and what it has to offer. If eating foods I enjoy (at moderation of course) makes me happy then I will continue to do it. As long I am still loosing weight and it doesn't hurt me. So far so good!! Now I am off to enjoy my 2 weeks of LIQUIDS.......YUCK!!
-
I will post daily or at least weekly!! Todays work out I did an hour on the EM, 2 sets of 35 on the arm press and some other arm machine. 3 sets of 30 situps. I know I should really know the names of these machines, it's amazing how much you forget in 10 years of not working out with a trainer or coach. Good Luck Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tellymelly..........YOU ARE MY IDOL!!! I have really enjoyed reading your replys and you are very motivating!! I have been an athlete my whole life but an overweight one. I played college softball and struggled with my weight all 4 years. I have lost 48lbs since being banded on 4-3-06 and my energy level has sky rocketed! I was doing 35-40 min of cardio and thought that was good UNTIL I read your exercise thread one day. Because of that I am now doing an hour!! I switch off each day from the treadmill and the eliptic (can't spell it or pronounce it) machine. THanks for your encouragement. We are both in the thirtysomething and had surgery around the same time, I can't believe your goal! I hope to be down to 200lbs by CHristmas maybe I should shoot for my 33rd birthday (OCtober)! My husband is very supportive and my 5year old daughter wants to know where the weight has gone. (Did I throw in the trash.........from the mouths of babes!!) Good luck to your goal, if anyone can do it will be you!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I will be tanning tomorrow!! I always feel better when I am not so pale white! Plus I live in hot Bakersfield and it's a sin to be pale white during these months! Happy Tanning..........

lightnerbride........ I think I skimmed through a long message of yours earlier and you have had tons of medical problems. So, I would say 32lbs is AWESOME!! You should be proud of that not discouraged! You are ahead of the game, remember this is just a "tool" and the average weight loss is 1/2 -1lb a week, if you do your math you are about 22lbs ahead! Keep up the good work!Jen

Julie....WOW 3 fills and my doctor hasn't allowed me to have 1 yet! IT's amazing how all of these doctors are different. I have my first fill next Tuesday, wish me luck! I am nervous but anxious due to the fact that my appetite is slowly starting to increase. Hopefully this will give me a quicker sensation of fullness! Good luck with your "new life" weight loss! I am calling it a "new life" since I can already see how this is changing my life in so many positive ways!!!!!!!!!

Hello All....... I am 32 will be 33 in October. I have been married for 10 1/2 years and I am the lucky mommy of two beautiful girls. Lexie will turn "5" next Thursday and Jaycee will turn "1" next Friday!! YIKES!!!!!!! I am done having kids and I am enjoying my "new life!" I was banded on 4/3/06 and I have currently lost 45lbs. (includes the 17lbs I lost prior to surgery) I love the fact that I can actually put clothes in the dryer and know that they will fit the next time I wear them. I have my first fill next Tuesday and I am ready for it, as I feel that my appetite is gradually increasing. I am hoping this fill will put a stop to my increasing appetite.<!-- SpaceID=150500004 loc=FSRVY noad --><SCRIPT language=javascript>if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object();window.yzq_d['UwUUB9j8YnA-']='&U=129vnmrjk%2fN%3dUwUUB9j8YnA-%2fC%3d-1%2fD%3dFSRVY%2fB%3d-1';</SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><!-- SpaceID=150500004 loc=FR001 noad --><SCRIPT language=javascript>if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object();window.yzq_d['TAUUB9j8YnA-']='&U=13aeqhnht%2fN%3dTAUUB9j8YnA-%2fC%3d229842.2969337.4301153.1958505%2fD%3dFOOT2%2fB%3d1453328';</SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><!-- SpaceID=150500004 loc=RS noad --><SCRIPT language=javascript>if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object();window.yzq_d['TQUUB9j8YnA-']='&U=126disrbb%2fN%3dTQUUB9j8YnA-%2fC%3d-1%2fD%3dRS%2fB%3d-1';</SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><!-- SpaceID=150500004 loc=RS2 noad --><SCRIPT language=javascript>if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object();window.yzq_d['TgUUB9j8YnA-']='&U=127p87an2%2fN%3dTgUUB9j8YnA-%2fC%3d-1%2fD%3dRS2%2fB%3d-1';</SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT> <IFRAME style="DISPLAY: none" name=asynch width=0 height=0></IFRAME><SCRIPT type=text/javascript> var oReplyTop = MenuButton('replytop',Reply_Click,'replymenu',ReplyMenu_Click); var oReplyBottom = MenuButton('replybottom',Reply_Click,'replymenu',ReplyMenu_Click); var oForwardTop = MenuButton('forwardtop',Forward_Click,'forwardmenu',ForwardMenu_Click); var oForwardBottom = MenuButton('forwardbottom',Forward_Click,'forwardmenu',ForwardMenu_Click); var oMoveTop = MenuButton('movetop',Move_Click,'movemenu',DestinationFolder_Click); var oMoveBottom = MenuButton('movebottom',Move_Click,'movemenu',DestinationFolder_Click); </SCRIPT><!-- v3.305.22 1148348161 --><!-- 0.28861 --><SCRIPT language=javascript>if(window.yzq_p==null)document.write("<scr"+"ipt language=javascript src=""http://us.js2.yimg.com/us.js.yimg.com/lib/bc/bc_2.0.3.js></scr"+"ipt>");</SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=javascript src="http://us.js2.yimg.com/us.js.yimg.com/lib/bc/bc_2.0.3.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=javascript>if(window.yzq_p)yzq_p('P=IjkGN0SOx.PY0zsJRClR2gDnP8G3mUSKT.wAC3Mn&T=13pgn9ip0%2fX%3d1149915117%2fE%3d150500004%2fR%3dmail%2fK%3d5%2fV%3d1.1%2fW%3dJ%2fY%3dYAHOO%2fF%3d658531472%2fS%3d1%2fJ%3d26C78E44');if(window.yzq_s)yzq_s();</SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><!-- web81415.mail.mud.yahoo.com compressed/chunked Fri Jun 9 21:51:56 PDT 2006 --> Since I am lucky enough to have my summers off (I am a high school RSP Math teacher) I will be hopefully working on my tan and enjoying the new found energy with my girls!!
