Bigsis/Gillian - how do you make the ground rice? My baby may like it and I'm sure I could help him out if he gets full! -

Mmm do keep us informed about your daughter. It's one of the reasons I had the band. I would like another baby in a year or so and don't want to put on another 3-4 stone! I really struggled near the end of the pregnancy with pelvis gurdle pain and v v swollen 'elephant' feet! -

Hi there Gary - I am 1pm in Manchester next Thursday. Is it near the airport? Have'nt looked yet! I will see how this goes and may go for WLS package after that. I am as hungry as ever and want my fill!! I will see my mum over the weekend she's expecting me to be a size 12 - I think she expects an overnight miracle! :w00t: I have lost about 12 lbs or so and that was the first week or so. I am planning to get exercising soon though. It won't be the gym, probably nice long walks with the pram! (And baby in it!!) Freckles - sorry to hear ur mum is still not good. I hope they sort her chest infection soon. It must be very stressful for you x I think you have a fill 1pm next week too! I had to check the time as thought they'd double booked! They probably do that though in case there are no shows. I'd love to have a natter with you in the waiting room! Wishful - I might see you there too! Not sure what you look like though. Are you on Facebook? Gillian - how's ur restriction today? I hope you are getting close to ur sweet spot!! Flirtylass - how's ur restriction? U must be getting sooooo frustrated! You poor thing. Kaka - so glad ur daughter is doing well. Caroline - thanks for the advice about the fills and how cool having ur mum to do them! Hello to everyone else - it's nearly the weekend! -

Good luck Gillian!! I am thinking about doing the WLS package as I am probably going to have to go into London anyway and like you said you can have unlimited fills in 6 months! Are they nice? Would you recommend? It is Wendy who also goes to London. -

Thanks - that's good to know. Do you know where he has clinics? I'm in Reading and the nearest place the other Dr Chris goes is London which can be a bit of a pain. x -

Heck - I managed a litre of pear juice and 1 or 2 (can't remember!) cup a soups the next day. I ordered soup from the restaurant but gave in as it had too many lumps in! Could have murdered my hubby's roast chicken and chips!! Actually it was the day after that I fancied nicking a chip but I didn't. He actually commented on him having the ability to eat all his meal without me having a taste was the best bit of me having the op! Cheeky b! -

Hi Freckles - that sounds like a good tip with the fizzy drink! I did manage to get the toast down eventually but I could feel it getting stuck!! I'm off to the out laws I mean in laws in a minute. That'll be interesting as I haven't (and am not!) told them about the band. We have long sit down meals too - I just hope I don't vomit at the table ! What's a 'PB' by the way?!! I'm probably being stupid! -

I just tried some toast for breakfast - half went down OK then it really hurt! Just as well as bread was probably my biggest downfall!! -

Hi there! I am only a few days on from you too and I have no restriction. I haven't tried meat and bread though - too scared!! I've had scrambled egg, those crisp bake things they gave us in hospital, cottage cheese, quavers/skips (they stopped me feeling sick), jacket pots (I tried the skin today and it was OK), grated cheese. Have you tried any of the above as they are mushy'ish! I just couldn't stand anymore liquids!! I have also tried pasta and it's gone down OK. I live in Berkshire too -near Reading! -

I know exactly what you mean about looking in the mirror - I have avoided them for a while now. I have also started not wanting to see people since having my baby as I had put on another 3-4 stone. But am feeling positive now (but hungry today!! :crying:) I can't wait for my first fill. -

I'm in the Reading (Berkshire) area. My mum lives close to Chester if that's any use. Would love to meet up at some point. Can be difficult though as hubby works away alot and I don't really have any baby sitters here. But if he's home or have notice I could hopefully sort something xxxxx -

Oh I forgot to say. I went to the doc's yesterday to tell him about the band - he already knew! Not sure if he had spotted the note on the computer the nurse made after removing my stitches or rumor control had been working over time in the staff room.! :cursing: Anyway he was very supportive which was great. -

It depends what you call mushy?!! It was mushy by the time I swallowed it!! :cursing: When I was on liquids I had some of those biscuit things we had in hospital - I was given permission! Also some quavers as they are similar texture and helped me to stop feeling sick!! This week I am mush. Mainly mashed veg, well cooked jacket pots, porridge etc but I have had pasta and it went down fine oh and a little bit of ready cooked chicken (but it's quite soft). I could eat a horse though!! What have you been eating young lady?!! :tt2: Wow your daughter has done brilliantly - how long did it take her. How many fills did she have? xxxxx -

Hi Lisa I agree with everything Freckles has said. She was very unlucky to have a leaky band poor thing. Some people (including myself!) are saying they are hungry because they have not hit their 'sweet spot' which means the band is giving restriction making them feel full earlier than without the band. This is achieved with the fills - you have saline (I think) injected into the port of the band which inflates the band. In turn this makes the gap between the top and bottom of ur tummy smaller making it slower for the food to pass through, and u are satisfied for longer. I can send you some info if you like that Dr Chris's assistant sent me. The band alone will not achieve that full feeling as it is not inflated when they operate on you though you may feel a little restriction whilst your tummy heals. I had my operation on 13th of this month. I do feel hungry but that is expected as I have had no fills yet (recommended after 4-6 weeks). The fills cost around £80-90 depending on where you get them done (Dr Chris/Frederik come to various places in UK once of twice a month). Does that help? Any other questions just fire away!! :cursing: -

Hi Freckles So glad you are back. Poor you saying goodbye to your daughter for 12 months. I am sure the time will fly by. She won't recognise you when she gets home! I hope you poor mum gets sorted out soon, I am sure she will feel a bit better when she gets the stability she needs. Just hang on in there honey x Good news your clothes are feeling looser. It is better to lose inches over weight for sure. I think I am losing quite a bit of fluid as my rings and watch are looser. I have lost about 11 lbs so far. I didn't get to weigh in the day before the op as we left for Belgium a week before. I am starting to get really hungry now but trying to be good! It's difficult as you can't just go and grab some fruit when you feel peckish! -

Just a quick question - the past 2 nights I have been getting a pain in my left shoulder. Is that likely to be the gas (11 days post op)? Does it feel like cramp? Thought I had got away with it!:huh2: -
