Hi there Sorry not managed to get on much since back off holiday but trying ot spend time with hubby before he goes back so I'll catch up next week. Garry - i had reallllly tight restriction about 6 weeks ago. I was choking when I woke up at night and found it very difficult to even get liquids down. I phoned Wendy and she said to eat lots of lollies or iced cold drinks. It defo helped. It was uncomfortable for well over a week and I was still struggling 2 weeks later but could get fluids down OK. I went back after 2 weeks to WLS and felt I didn't need a de-fill. In fact either a month or 6 weeks later I needed a top up. I'm tight again this week not on the same scale but have been on liquids for 6 days. Oh yeah she said ot stay on liquids for 7 days if it's really tight. Freckles all recommended some suppositories but my doctor (well the duty doctor) would'nt give me any and was v unhelpful as they are prescription only. Get some nurafen melts down u 2 if it's still bad as they're an anti-inflammatory. Unless it gets too bad stick with it - it'll get ur weight moving. Just make sure u try and drink some fluids x

Hi Guys! Well I'm back from 2 weeks in Tenerife, I didn't blow up on the plane or set the security alarms off!! In fact my band didn't seem to tighten at all on the plane which is good but if I was going any further I'd have had a bit of a de-fill. We stayed in a hotel half board for the 1st week which was buffet meals. I was surprised at how much I could eat, an omelette for breakfast and a reasonable size plate of fish, veg, pasta/rice for dinner plus pud!! There was some restriction thankfully but it was clear I needed a bit more so I made an appointment for the day after we got back (actually it was the same day as we didn't get home until 4am!). So, Wendy put another 0.5ml in (I thought that may have been a bit too much so I was very careful drinking the water after!!). I'm on liquids now for a week, just as well after indulging on holiday!! I can defo feel some more restriction but not like it was a couple of months back thankfully. I thought I may have put a bit of weight on but had lost 4 lb (a all fat according to the all singing all dancing WLS sclaes!!) over the last month, 2 of those weeks being holiday. I could easily put on 10+lbs on a 2 week holiday without the band! How's everyone else doing? I'll try and have a flick through the previous 2 weeks worth of posts but not sure if I'll have time. Welcome to all the newbies, ur in the right place and good luck to those who are being banded in the coming week x

Sorry didn't get to look at the past few pages. Hubby has been hogging the computer doing technical stuff!! We're off to Tenerife in half hour so see you in a couple of weeks! I just hope I don't put too much weight on as I can eat quite a bit more now, loads less than I used to be enough to cause some damage!! Suefee - glad everything went well. I had an upset tummy too. Muy butt was vvvvery sore!!!:tongue2: See you all in 2 weeks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hahaha! I just hope pink is ur colour!! I did try to find my hubby some yesterday but they'd sold out..............you must've started a trend:cool2: Off on hols on Saturday, spent I don't know how long looking for a swimming cosy yesterday! I'm very excited though especially as over 2 stone lighter since having my band. I;ve a long way to go but every lb is nearer to target!!

Yes I can defo recommend WLS, they are great. I did the same thing as you, went to Manchester for my 1st fill (as I couldn't wait!!) and then to WLS. I've had just 3 fills and have very good restriction. I agree with Boobaldy, you will get to ur sweet spot within the 6 months as long as u get regular fills! x

Morning Wishful - how's it going on liquids? U have done so well to lose 32 lbs since ur op. My weight is moving slowly again, I weigh myself in kg so it takes longer to move down therefore a little harder to believe u've lost anything!! I think I'm at about 30lb loss so far since my heaviest the day before the op! It's really weird as I don't feel like I've lost much. Once I lose another couple of stone I'm sure I will feel it. My first mini goal is to lose another 7kg before I go back ot work mid August. That'll be my pre-baby weight so I won't have to buy anymore work clothes and most people won't even know I put on so much weight!!! It sounds Ok but I've got a 2 week holiday in Tenerife and a 1 week holiday in Tuscany before that!! And I didn't think I was getting a holiday this year!! Lucky me!!!

Sounds like a little fun was to be had last night! Garry - are you gonna wear ur pink speedos to ur next fill?!! I'll have to get my hubby a pair or one of those mankini things Borat wears! :w00t: Freckles - glad u have booked ur flight, it'll be lovely to see ur daughter. I'm like u still struggling with lots of foods but it defo eases throughout the day. We've re-booked our accomodation (yes it was pre-paid  so we'll have to try and clain it back from Mastercard), flights were booked with Monarch direct. My mum has stayed at the hotel we're gonig to now and she liked it (and isn't easily pleased!!). Mmm - I have a little more in my band than Freckles, 6ml (7-9ml band) and have good restriction if a little tight to begin with!! Good morning everyone else and hope ur fine n dandy this sunny day!!

U are doing fab Garry. I'm slowing down weight loss wise as most of the stuff I can eat is bad! I've been trying more stuff though and managed to get some chicken and sweetcorn down last night and more than I thought!! My band defo is tight in the morning and then loosens throughout the day. It's no problem, just getting used to it and adjusting my new eating regime!! Just to have a rant. The company we booked our accomodation with for our hols on Saturday have gone bust! It was only by chance I found out as I was showing my hubby the booking voucher. So I'm not impressed! We should get our money back from Matercard but who knows how long that'll take and everything has gone up in cost now ! So I'm surfing the net right now, hubby still in bed the lazy toad!!

It is a very basic hotel but the staff are very helpful and it was clean. I took my husband and 6 month old son and would do again. We'd just been staying at the Crowne Plaza in Bruges so had been spoilt! We asked for a bigger room as the travel cot wouldn't fit in the room and they gave us a disabled room which was much bigger - you may want to do the same. Plus the handrails in the bathroom were quite useful after the op!! As for the restaurant I only had one meal but my hubby ate there and said it was quiet nice. It isn't cheap esp because of the euro exchange rate but it was a lot cheaper than we'd been paying in Bruges!! I think it was around 12 euro for a main course. The roast chicken my hubby had the day after my op smelled gooooooooooorgeous!! I'm not sure how old ur son is but there's a pool table in the lobby and a TV (not many English channels though but we picked up the rugby in French).

Hi guys - so many posts, it's hard to keep up!! I'm starting to get my appetite back a bit now so I'll have to watch it. I'm still experimenting with food. I'm OK with things to have for dinner but I don't really want ot cook at lunch time. I'm used to having sandwiches. Any ideas what to have? I've had cottage cheese and crackers which is OK but salad is a bit harsh still!! Also can, for those with good restriction does the roof of ur mouth swell up a little bit when u first eat? It's a bit weird!! I'm off on hols a week tomorrow but nothing much fits  and I don't want to buy much as I'm hoping to lose a lot more weight after forking out all this money!! Any ideas for a key capsule summer wardrobe?!! So far I'm going for linen blend trousers and 3/4's!

Yup - I can't count how many last suppers I had! I put on about half a stone in the month between booking the band and my pre-op diet!!

I know what you mean CW, it's so hard when all that lovely food is sitting around!! I've got good restriction now though so am not that tempted. It's only the last few days I've actually felt hungry (over 2 weeks post fill). Wishful - I know what you mean, meat doesn't really go down very well. Sausage was Ok ish but I guess that's been minced and isn't as stringy. I'm still experimenting as to what goes down. I saw my hubby on Tuesday night and he got to finish my meal! He couldn't believe it. We stayed in a hotel overnight. I only managed a spoonful of scrambled eggs and half a sausage for breakfast - a bit of a turn around from what I would've eaten!! He's back home tomorrow for a month so I am vvvvvvvvvvery happy!! I don't think I've lost anything this week even though I've been really good. Hopefully it'll come off next week as I've got a couple of pairs of trousers I really want to get into for my hols a week on Saturday and they're just a bit too tight ! Good luck to everyone being banded in the next weeks x

Freckles - we have to be good now!! No more chocolate and ice cream!! Mind you I still managed to shift 11 lbs in 2 weeks! I am able to eat bits of other food now so can't really use the 'it's the only thing that goes down' excuse! Fun whilst it lasted!

Don't worry. I felt like this. I got my appetite back quickly! It shows you are healing well too to want food. I am with WLS and can really recommend them for fills. I'm lucky enough to live near ish to London so can go every 2 weeks. It's only taken 3 fills for me but everyone is different. Wendy keeps a mobile with her 24 hours a day for emergencys which also gives me some comfort if anything were to go wrong (not that it will!!) x

Hi Gary - glad you had a fab time. U look great by the way! I seem to have proper restriction now after being v tight for nearly 2 weeks. I can only eat v small amounts and then feel full. It's not the full feeling I got without the band it's a lot higher than that. It almost feels like something is stuck but it soon wears off. Does that help? I still get a bit of the pb gloop and it does feel different. I'm only able to eat small amounts for example I've just had a mackerel fillet and am full. I think I may eat 5 small meals until the band loosens slightly as I want to get in proper food not just snacks like I was last week. I got some new vitamins todays. Bassetts Soft and Chewy with Omega 3. They were OK but did taste a bit fishy!! I'm gonig away a week on Saturday so hope it's slightly looser else I'll be on shots not cocktails!! And it won't be pretty!

Hi there. I think Gary is right, everyone feels this, it's only natural. Dr Chris has NEVER had anyone die on his operating table and has performed 3 or 4 thousand procedures (can't remember which). The hospital hasn't had any MRSA cases (if that makes sense!!) either which is rare these days! You will be banded in no time and you won't regret it. Just think about the pluses to ur health and how great you will feel! x

Hi Shoes - sorry to hear you are in pain. Not heard of it before, hopefully someone can help u out. Funnily enough I have had pain in my left shoulder the past 2 nights, like the gas pain in the shoulder I had after the op. Anyone had this 2m post op? It may just be a coincidence, hopefully!

Odgemodge you are doing really well, keep it up girl! My weight loss really slowed/stopped after the first 2 weeks as I got my appetite back, only now has it restarted. Wishful - hi there. Mum is fine thanks, she's coming to see us for a few days tomorrow so I'm very excited!! Harrison is OK, he's still got a cold poor thing (so have I) but is still managing to get into everything!! Hubby is back in UK on Tuesday (YAYYYYYYY!!) and will be back home on Friday night so I am very excited as I haven't seen him for 8 weeks. How's everything with u?

Hello everyone! Had a busy few days and came back to a duff computer, well internet! I'm not sure what I did but I fixed it!! I have read a few posts but can't remember who did what so here goes!! Good luck to everyone who's having their op in the next few days - u won't regret it!! I hope everyone is recovering OK (esp the peep who had the blood transfusion - sorry to hear that and sorry I can't remember ur name without looking back x) Someone also had prob's drinking water. I ddin't have it initially but after this last fill I thought it was the hardest thing to get down! Try some juice lollies and it also reduces the swelling x Flirty - u will be a new woman before u know it!! How exciting!! Hello everyone else! I went for a review today with WLS. I did'nt have a fill as am still tight!! Wendy and Steve are lovely. I decided not to have any out. Wendy says usually over 5 hours she does an unfill. I will see how I get on over the next 2 weeks and may go via Harley Street to the airport if I think I am still too tight!! It's paying off though as I lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks!! So I think I'm around the 2 stone mark. I weigh myself in kg firstly to please my hubby (so new school!!) and it looks better as I don't really know what it is in stones!! I'm still experimenting with what I can eat. I jsut can't believe I don't feel hungry. It's great!! It's really worknig!!!

Well if they can do it 'the natural way' that's great but after years of yoyo'ing I think the band has been a good option for me. Trust me I'd join WW (again!!) tomorrow if I thought it was the solution! U probably feel the same. I just hope they give you the support you need, if not we are always here for you. The words 'gastric band' seem to be very emotive!! Everyone seems to have an opinion, but at the end of the day it's ur opinion that counts! Go for it girl!!! I'm only 2months post op and I know 100% this was the single best decision I have ever made!!
