Yeah, it was tight after the 3rd fill then lasted about 4-6 weeks. On my 4th fill 2 weeks ago it tightened up again. I think the 1st time I got restriction it was defo too tight so going forwards I'm just gonna ask for very little fills when I need them even if it does mean going back more often. It's been very uncomfortable at times. Ur doing really well too especially without restriction! I'm going out for lunch with the guys from work on Friday to a Chinese buffet. We all usually get really stuck in but I won't be! I just tell them that I'm on a diet. Surely they must realise I've lost over 2 and half stone since I saw them last!! Still a very long way to go though but I'm in no great rush! x

Morning Freckles!! The message was for mmm not wishful!! ! Silly sausage!! How's ur mum doing? I hope she's being looked after. xxxxx Mmm - I'm glad u've sorted it out. I did look at Spire in Farnham which is only a few miles from where I work but they didn't seem keen to take on aftercare only patients so I gave it a miss. It's good they do one off fills though. It's worked out OK as I've only had 4 fills and got good restriciton on the 3rd. I was worried I'd be in London every 2 weeks spending a fortune on trains and taxis!! It'll be a good excuse to go shopping though when I've lost another few stone as Harley Street is just a few mins walk from Oxford Street!

I had so many last suppers!! Last Indian, last Chinese, last pizza................the list was endless!!

Freckles you poor thing, we're hear to listen. We're your friends x. Don't worry about texting me back, you have enough on ur plate. I just wanted to know that you were OK after ur fill as I know I found it quite scary and uncomfortable when I had a bit too much put in. I'm actually feeling a bit hungry today so I'm gonna make more of an effort to eat better! Before I was eating in such small quantities it wasn't as important. All you guys having ur op this week good luck, I'll look forward ot hearing from u on ur return. U'll all be just fine x BTW - does anyone take anything specific for hairloss as mine is coming out quite a bit. I'm taking Bassetts Soft and Cheey active health plus with Omega 3 (vit A,C,D,E, B2, B5, B6 and Omega 3) but thought there may be something specific for hair in chewable form! I can recommend these vits btw, they go down even with good restriction and they taste nice. I'm normally terrible at taknig anything soluable etc that tastes of medicine!! These taste nice!!

Hi mmm and welcome back! I hope you had a good holiday, you have been missed! How has the eating gone? I went away for 2 weeks and didn't put any weight on which I was amazed about as I was losing restriction. Well I say I didn't put any weight on, I lost 4 lb in a month (which my holiday fell in) so I could've put a bit on then lost it but nevertheless I was happy! Did u manage any french bread?!

Marmite rice cakes rock!! I'm trying to get my little one to be a marmite fan as my hubby hates it!! Hahaha! I will win the mission! BTW - I weighed in today, another 4 kg of since my last fill 2 weeks ago so that's good news. Only 3 kg to go until my 1st mini target of 20kg down. It sounds so much yet I don't feel as if I've lost that much. Don't get me wrong I feel better and can tell I've lost but it doesn't feel like that much!! I guess the next 20kg I'll really be able to tell. Adagiodiva sorry to hear u had a bit of a bad time. I was ok with the anesthetic but had the same prob's with the barium meal!! :smile2: Good luck with the weight loss x

Freckles - only just read ur post. How u feeling? I felt exactly like this a few weeks back and it is scary! It does ease but will prob take a week to feel comfortable (in my experience anyway but hopefully u'll be better soon). I had this on my 3rd fill (taking me to 6ml in a 7-9ml band). I had a 4th fill just under 2 weeks ago and it's still tight. Not on the same level but I can drink very little until the afternoon which has been bad as it's been so hot. I've ended up forcing 1 litre plus of fluid down in the evening. I wake up so thirsty but can only drink a small amount, it's been ice lolly's for breakfast and lunch. My freezer is playing silly buggers though . I've been trying to eat some fish every night for dinner but have been eating quite a bit of ice cream (still only 800-1000 cals a day though) as yogurts make me wanna hurl and it's just too hot for soup!! I'm coming out the other side now though, it's near perfect restriction. I've got a new battery for my scales so I will report weight loss tomorrow!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GILLIAN!! Homecare - hope u have a lovely day today x

Flirty - good to have you back. I'm so excited for you! You have done so well and deserve to feel good about ur self. How much weight have u lost now? I guess u'll lose some more with the op and also lose those all important inches!!

Gillian I love ur thinking with the weightloss - I think I;ve lost about a sack of ur dog food!! Ur right it's very hard to lift that much and we;ve been carrying it around on ourselves! Wishful - I had a few bites of a BK burger on hol and had to PB it into my drink carton - good job no one saw me!! I'm sticking to fish for a while!! Gary - I will try quorn again. I made a lasagne a while back but didn't like it. I think I put too much salt in it though! Freckles - how's ur mum today? x Good morning everyone else, hope it's a good one x

Hi Homecare and congrat's to first born!! I would certainly get as much rest as possible between now and Friday. Try not to do anything u don't need to! I and most others felt better by the day so hopefully you will feel a bit better by Friday. At the meal could you order soup then just move stuff around ur plate for the main and arrange for ur hubby to steal ur meat or something?!! You can easily get away with saying you don;t feel hungry because of the heat and all the stress! For pud you can have some ice cream! Get ur glass filled with wine and just sip. As for the evening make sure you get to sit down loads and get ur hubby to do most of the entertaining. If there's 30 people there they probably won't notice ur not eating. I'd also get some dextro/luzocade tablets. I had some for when I came out of hospital and they do give you any enery boost. I really hope everything goes well and if I think of anything else I'll let u know x

Hi Freckles, let's hope ur mum proves the doctors wrong!! Let us know how she gets on. Had a lovely holiday thanks, especially the 1st week when it was just my husband and Harrison. I really got stuck into the buffets!! I had a few glasses of wine every night too. I went to WLS for a fill the day after I got back. It was a month previously I'd been and I'd actually lost 4lb which I was pleased about as I was on hols for 2 of those weeks! Roll on more weightloss! My mum says hi x

Hi Freckles good to have you back. I hope ur mum gets better soon and her hospital stay is better than last time. What have you got in ur band now? Is it a 7-9ml? Wishful & Gillian - hello ladies!! What are you up to now in ur bands? I'm 6.5ml in 7-9ml band (4 fills) and it's pretty tight. The battery has gone on my scales so I can't see if I've lost anything over the past few days! Hopefully I'll be happy when I get it changed!! Garry -how's ur restriction? Still tight? I worry I'm not drinking enough, I'm really trying though but I'm only drinking half what I normally would.

I was banded in March. I had my first fill 2 weeks later, second 2 weeks later, third 2 weeks after that and got good restriction but needed a top up a month later which was my fourth and again have good restriction. I'm with WLS on the 6 month package and I think it'll end Sept/Oct. I'll probably need at least another 1 or 2 more fills as the weight comes off. Where are you going for ur fills? I get them done in London where WLS are every other weekend. This is great as I have got to my sweet spot quickly as I can have fills every 2 weeks. Wendy and Steve are REALLY lovely and I am more than happy with the service. They have a lot of people on the aftercare only package. Hope that helps x

High Anxiety - poor you. What a disappointment. Like you say you have had the discomfort of surgery without the end result. Let's hope you get ur op done in Galway, u must let us know how u get on. It sounds like you may have infected stitches, not a nice thing especially when u didn't get ur band. I hope u get sorted out x

Hi Fatduck - sorry I can't help you as I booked directly with Frederik. I'd give him a ring if you have his number if you haven't heard anything, it can't hurt. Not sure if any of the others booked with Bridget). Good luck, it'll be the best thing you ever did x Homecare - Welcome back!! So glad to hear everything went OK x

Poor you Kathy. My stitches healed nicely and I didn't have any problems with puss etc. Maybe you have a slight infection. If I were you I'd pop to the doctors as you may need some anti-biotics. I was on holiday when you were in Belgium, how come you didn't get your band you poor thing? Can you have it at a later date? x

It takes a bit of getting used to eh?!! This may sound weird but I find it easier to drink standing up! I guess gravity is giving me a helping hand!! Still being cautious with food, had a bit of curry sauce and poppadom last pm but no meat/rice or anything. I haven't exactly been healthy but I am eating so little it'll be OK. Tomorrow I'll try some new stuff, more veggies/fish etc as I think I should be OK as long as I just have a small amount. Are you finding it's looser as the day goes on? I really struggle in the morning! It'll ease though as I was v v tight 4-6 weeks ago and had to have more put in last weekend. Wendy said I should be good now for probably a couple of months which is good. I don't really want this uncomfortableness every time I have a fill now I am at/close to my sweet spot! But, would rather that than not get to it!:smile2: Hubby gone now.........................:frown: Hopefully he'll see a lot less of me in 8 weeks! :smile2:

SO glad you got on OK. Now you can look forward to seeing the weight drop off! I text Freckles yesterday to see how she is getting on. She say hi but her mum is in hospital again with suspected internal bleeding so obviously she's not been able to get on the board. Lots of love to u and ur family Freckles x Morning everyone else. I went to a fete yesterday and had some candy floss! :frown: Not too good for the waistline but it was yum and went down fine (unsurprisingly)! Band still tight but manageable. I hope I don't have these horrible feelings of everytime I have a fill from now on - uncomfortable to drink (not painful like last time) etc. The battery in my scales is dead so need to get a new one ASAP! I'm 5 kg off my pre-pregnancy weight (I was big b4 pregnancy though) which is my first mini target by August whichi s when I return to work. Mainly because I don't want ot have to buy new clothes that I hopefully wouldn't be in long! Once I get to thatweight that'll be 20kg off. Then I'd like ot lose another 20kg (maybe 30kg but it seems surreal!) at least but haven't set any time frames. I am starting to notice the difference. My face is starting to look a little slimmer and my back better (got some back pain after giving birth - blamed it on the baby but probably more the weight gain!!). I can also get up and down off the floor much more gracefully - I found it a bit of a struggle sometimes!

Glad ur getting on OK. I found it got worse before it got better. Last night I had that horrid night reflux. Not too bad but enough to keep waking me up so I'm knackered this morning!! I had some water just before I went to sleep so that must've done it. I feel really tight this am - great! Hopefully it'll loosen throughout the day. I tried a bit of mushed food last night so that may have contributed (stayed on liquids pretty much for 6 days). Hubby going back tomorrow for another 8 weeks. I'll be back at work by the time I see him again. Another horrible thought!!

Hi Toppings! What a lovely cousin you have! Personally I would say have ur spa weekend and then have ur op on 12th. I certainly wouldn't have been well enough to enjoy a nice spa weekend so soon after the op. I mean you may be but you may also get the dreaded gas pain or something and feel uncomfortable. U will feel better every day but I wouldn't have felt like donig anything like that for at least a week. Also you aren't meant to have a bath for about 5 days (it may be longer I can't remember so swimming/spa pools would be a no no so soon afterwards.) If ur not having ur consult the night before the op I can't see that it matters what time u arrive within reason. Mention it when you have ur consult and they should give you all the info then. It will be an early start (I think I got picked up before 7 am) but as long as u get a few hours sleep I'm sure u'll be fine.
