Glad ur mum is out of hospital honey and you got to ur appointment just about!! I'm so looking forward ot Saturday, a bit of restriction I hope and I'll feel in control once again. I've put on well over half stone in 5 weeks!! Prob nearer 10lbs and this last stone has taken months to shift. Never mind I'm getting a fill and that's all that matters! I just hope that horrid acid doesn't come back. I don't miss that side of things! Enjoy an acid free xmas Freckles!! I had 2.5ml taken out, not sure how much they'll put back in. I'm after 2ml as don't want to be quite as full cos of the acid but we'll see x

I know I struggled to find it after my computer crashed!! Then I remembered reading how you'd found it so I did the same! So much for improvements! Still no change here, starving all the time and eating anything and everything. Thankfully fill is a week on Saturday. I realise just what an amazing tool this is as in effect I feel like I don't have it at the moment and I soooooo want it back!! I've put on best part of half a stone. Yes I've eaten a lot more but also have been able to eat a lot of fruit and veg which I often struggled with inc clementines which are usually very hard to get down because of the skin. Roll on a week Saturday before I regret getting rid of my bigger clothes!!!

Hi there I had a similar problem on I think my 3rd or 4th fill. It was a real shock to the system!! I felt awful for getting on for a month but I decided to sit it out. I did go to the docs as I'd been recommended some suppositories to help with swelling but it wasn't my usual doc and she was very unsympathetic and I came away empty handed and in tears!! Anyway I phoned WLS for advise and that was to suck ice cubes, lollies etc to reduce swelling. Also nurofen (melts or the liquid stuff for children) will also help take swelling down. As you lose weight you'll also loosen off. But it's up to you what to do, don't make ur self ill. It's hard to know what to do esp like you say when fills are so expensive!! i was in a right dilemma, I wouldn't want to go through it again. Look after urself. My internet has been down and it took me ageeeeeeeeeeees to find this thread!! Grrrr!! Well I'm starvvvvvvvvvvvvving!!!!!, I feel slightly out of control. I loved the way my band took that feeling away. With restriction I felt like I was in control for once not food. Fill is a week on Saturday. I've put on about 6lbs in 3 weeks. Bad eh? It's like I have no band at the moment. I'm looking forward to some restriction just hopefully minus the acid. On the plus side I've barely eaten any fruit in 18 months as it just doesn't go down but I've been able to the past few weeks. Good job it's cold outside so I can wear baggy tops :-)

Jojo I'm so glad you got sorted out. Being overfilled is just awful isn't it? What a relief you must've felt!! I'm waiting for a refill after having 2.5mls out a few weeks back due to the acid reflux. It's awful isn't it. I got the best nights sleep in ages after the defill! Slinky I wish I was more motivated like you and did some exercise. I really want to join a gym but hubby is away now and I've got 2 little ones so not really possible. I'm still waiting for my Wii from last Christmas! Maybe I could get Wii fit???????? Mummies - ur doing so well with the weight loss. I'm feeling a little disheartened at the moment, I can eat anything and everything in any amounts. I panic every so often but I need to keep telling myself I've done well and I'm taking a step backwards to take 2 forwards. I just love the feeling of control over food the band helped me with. Before being banded I often felt out of control where food was concerned which I hated. I never want to feel like that again!! Freckles - I iwll have to try that protein drink when I get refilled. I'm praying I can have some restriction but no acid. Pleasssssssssssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Scooby ahve a good moan - it's what we're here for to be supportive and honest to each other!! I'm getting impatient now, especially as I've told quite a told of people about my band I feel like I'm being watched!! I just want to lose another couple of stone and stay there. I'm starting to feel human again. Yeah what the hell have they done to this site!! I thoguht it was may computer playing up!! Nearly the weekend guys..........................!!

Hahahaha Freckles!! I think my history would be even more confusing!! It's amazing the balance between little restriction and being over filled. At the moment I really can eat anything and in any amounts. I forget I've got a band sometime! I'm really trying to fill up on veg as I'm so hungry, I forgot how much I love my band!! Roll on December 11th for my refill! I just hope the acid doesn't come back Glad ur daughter is OK. Hope everyone else out there is doing well and looking forward to the weekend

Hahaha! Maybe if you just have a small defill you won't be able to eat like a horse as I can!! I have to admit the size 14 are snug shall we say! But a size 14-16 from a size 22-24 is pretty good going. I have to remember that. I'm actually going out on the lash tonight and will be able to enjoy myself. The past few months I've struggled at night with the acid and wine makes it worse. Sooooooooooo watch out Cheltenham this evening!! (I'll prob be asleep b4 10pm!)

Pearce - well done on your weight loss that's great! Sorry I don't have the phone number for fills as I use WLS Group. I've had great restriction and then it's worn off as I've lost weight. I'm sure another fill will get you back to where you want to be. I'm still able to eat normally after my defill. I' know it was n needed to stop the acid indigestion but I'm terrified of putting weight back on. I'm eating plenty of veg to try and fill up but it's soooo hard as I'm so hungry! I realise now just how amazing my band is. I just don't want the acid problem thank you very much! I'm hoping it was that my band was too tight and nothing underlying like a hernia as it's gone away since defill. I'll keep you updated as I know that quite a lot of people have the same problem once their band is quite full.

Hi Summerbreeze, they are holding a clinic fri 10th and sat 11th December. It's a chap called Mark filling in (I think I've seen him before) and it will be in Wimpole Street (v close to Harley Street). I'm booked in for the Saturday morning. Yes fills and defills are included in the package, they do work out good value. I'm going for a 12 month package which you can have 6 adjustments as I shouldn't need many. For newbies the unlimited package is prob the best option as you many need a number of fills to get to ur sweet spot.

Thanks hon, I'll pass that info on. Well I had my defill of 2.5ml on Sunday and the acid seems to have completely gone away so I'll booked a fill for mid December. I'll have had 5 weeks rest so I think that's OK. I can eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! I'm just soooo hungry and back on pre-band portions. I'm really gonna have to watch it! I've put on 2lbs since Sunday but I guess my body is a bit shocked as to how much is going in it!! I need to get and do some exercise but it's sooooooooo miserable! Just to let you know I had a letter yesterday from WLS and they aren't doing any December clinics apart from 2 consecutive days in London. They said the uptake was v poor last year with Christmas etc. I squeezed myself into a size 14 pair of skinny jeans today - not sure if I'll be brave enough to keep them :rolleyes2:

I'd get on the phone, you don't want to be left without an appointment! I know Wendy was ill during the summer and had some kind of op which left her out of action for a few months. She's working reduced hours now, Sharon has taken on some of the London clinics and Cardiff (maybe others too). So maybe Wendy isn't at work. Not sure why Rob wouldn't reply - annoying eh? I need to find out when the clinics are in the new year. Which clinic do you go to?

Hi Amazed. I'm pretty sure that I had a fill 4 weeks after surgery. I was OK with it. I'd see how you go and if you're not ready just cancel. If you leave it nearer the time to book they may be full. The first fill shouldn't give much restriction anyway so you should be fine. I went for my 2nd fill (and subsequent fills) with WLS. They said they don't do fills until 6 or 8wk after surgery (I can't remember which) but that's their policy. Just checked my outlook calender - I was banded 13th March and had my 1st fill 9th April so a day under 4 weeks. It was fine so as log as you feel like ur healing I'd go for it. Freckles - thanks for that. I think my friend said it was just a tad under £6k with Hospital Group. We're they OK?

That'd be handy for your daughter Freckles if she works in Manchester. I'm not sure what day they are there but I'm sure they'll tell her if she phones up. I know this is a Dr Chris thread but I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about The Hospital Group. Someone I know is considering a band but wants to stay in UK and was interested in them. I've passed on WLS Group details to her as I can highly recommend them. Thanks peeps. Btw - I'm very hungry today!! Eeeek! I'm cooking loads of veg for dinner. It's got to be done. I don't want to put weight on. I'll really have to try and stay in control, easier said than done!!!

Morning everyone. I hope everyone had a good weekend. To all the people having a few problems I hope they are sorting themselves out. These bands seem to work differently for everyone. The seems to be no rhyme or reason sometimes. I've had more restriction with less in the band, some days I can eat certain things, other days not. Until yesterday I had 7.25ml in a 7-9ml band. I had restriction but not great. I could eat steak, fresh bread, pretty much anything! But the acid indigestion at night was killing me. So yesterday I went for a defill yesterday as I just couldn't live with the acid. I was being sick quite a bit and that's just not good for me or the band!! I had a really good chat with the nurse and we agreed to go for a 'good' defill and my symptoms could cause band erosion if left. So I had 2.5ml out taking me down to 4.75ml in a 7-9ml band. I'm going to leave it at least 6 weeks before having some put back in. Maybe after Christmas if I haven't put on too much weight. I've just got to try and be good and avoid crisps, biscuits etc which go down way to easily!! That's a nice idea Freckles having a defill for Christmas. U'll be able to indulge a bit! If anyone is interested WLS Group are now doing a Manchester clinic for aftercare. I can highly recommend them. I particularly like the packages they offer, £345 (I think) for unlimited fills for 6 months (sometimes they do a special offer for £275). I believe the clinic is in the centre around Deansgate.

Cakey - I'm pretty sure that Garry on this forum had a hernia. Dr Chris found it when doing his op and repaired it free of charge. I'm not sure if Garry's been on here lately but you could PM him. Dr Chris is also a general surgeon so is well equipped to deal with these kind of complications. x

You're over the first hurdle of ur weight loss journey!! Morning SLinky - how's u today? Morning to everyone else. A week tomorrow I'm having a defill and it but back in 2 weeks later. My weight is at a stand still and I need a little help! Half a stone off by Christmas would be great!!!

Mummies BB - how is ur restriction today? I had something similar a year or so ago and it's not nice is it? I went to the doctors as I'd been recommended voltarol suppositories to take the swelling down but it wasn't my usual doc and she wouldn't give them to me. I came out crying. I decided to sit it out and didn't get a defill. I have my aftercare with WLS so phoned them. I was told to eat lots of ice lollies to take the swelling down. If you can manage some soluble ibrufen (of nurofen melts) that will take the swelling down too. The restriction did fade but it was a horrible few weeks. I did lose a lot of weight though but not really the way to do it. I'd phone up and get some advice anyway just in case it becomes unbearable. Can you keep water down? Looking back I probably should've gone for a defill. Let us know how ur doing xxxxx

Great news Scooby - what a relief! Ur hard work is paying off. My band is 7-9ml - I think I have about 7.5-8ml in. I've lost count!! I had a number of unfills and fills during pregnancy and after. U will feel any future fills a lot more! Freckles - I forgot about the milk thistle, think someone else must've bought some stronger ones. I wasn't great on the pre-op diet as we were in Bruges/Brussels for a week or so before and it would've been rude not to sample the waffles and chocolate :w00t: though I was more restrained they I would've normally been!

Scooby - I've not experienced anything like that but I've not got into doing much exercise ! Hopefully as you say it could just be the increase in exercise that's effecting ur port slightly. It's good ur seeing Dr Chris tomorrow, let us know what he says and good luck xxxx

I think that you can just about walk it to the hospital but not sure if it's easy to find!! I don't remember it being too far. I guess taxi's have to charge a minimum fare. I found Bruges pretty expensive. We did a bit of a road trip and stayed in Bruges for a few days then Brussels. The euro exchange rate was bad then though - pretty much one to one. The hospital were really relaxed about visiting. They let you stay pretty much as long as you like. Hubby disappeared for a few hours after my surgery. I wondered what on earth he was doing but he was in A&E with Harrison who'd rolled off the changing table onto the floor lol! He was OK though!! Ur daughter will be in good hands and it's great ur there to support her. It'll be great to meet up - I didn't fancy moving to Turkey but there will be lots of free holidays . Best of both worlds I say!! Oh I've booked an adjustment for 7th November. Gonna have a bit taken out and then it put back in in a few weeks and hope I get better restriction without the indigestion/reflux!! I measured myself before - my waist is only a few cm's less than my hips :w00t:. Most of my clothes are hanging off my bum but the next size down is too tight around the waist - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Hi there everyone I've still not put those photos on lol! I will one day I promise!! We're busy looking for somewhere to move to as my husband has a new job in Turkey. Freckles - I think we'll be moving somewhere a bit nearer my mum so maybe we could meet up in the spring with ur beautiful little granddaughter? The weight is still stuck, I will get the de-fill and fill when we're sorted. There's just a lot of expense at the moment too!! At least it's not going on that's the main thing. I read about Garry's problems - poor thing. I saw on Facebook he was in hospital but didn't realise it was band related. I f ur reading this Garry - I hope ur sorted and ur band isn't naughty again!!

Thanks Freckles for the info on posting photos - I'll get hubby to give me a hand later. I'll get him to take another photo actually as I've lost prob a stone since last full shot I've taken. Could use my FB profile photo taken in Pizza Hut though couldn't I?!!! After visiting the ice cream factory and having seconds of the toppings lol!! No actually I prob only managed 2 small pieces of pizza and a small ice cream. Funny how the sweet stuff goes down so much better though eh?!!! Slinky - u'll be at goal before you know it. I don't know if my photos will inspire you but I hope so!! I'd lost another 2lb this morning - not sure how but I have so maybe 12 stone by Christmas will happen!
