    Hair Loss

Wow, I am so glad that I got online today to check to see if their were any links about hair loss. I had my surgery in May and about a month and a half ago my hair just started falling out. I have always had very thick hair, so at first it was not noticable, but lately I can really see and feel the difference. I went to the doctor and she ran a whole bunch of tests and everything came back normal. I feel better knowing that this is somewhat normal for people who have had this surgery. I think that I will have to buy the Nioxin and give it a try. I have thought about cutting my hair short, but I do not know if a shorter style would look good on me. I have a very round head and face and I am afraid that I would look like a basketball with hair! I have to agree with Virginia, Telly, you are a very pretty women and you look good with short hair. It is very chic on you! Anyhoo, thank you everyone. I feel better after reading everyones input. Have a marvelous Labor Day Weekend. Kelly

Banded May 12,2006 Check me out!!!

Hey, I was banded on the 12th of May also. This was a first for me and I am really excited too. I have only lost just over 20 pounds so far, but I am glad that it is coming off slow. I want to wait as long as possible before I get a fill though, it is kinda expensive to travel to Mexico to get a fill. You are doing great and I wish you all the luck. I was wondering, why did you have your first band removed? Kelly

    molding clinic

I am not sure I would put myself in the hands of the Molding Clinic. I to had looked into their clinic and heard nothing but bad things. Unethical practices and people having perforated stomachs, seem to be the main topic of discussion. I was banded on 05/12/06 through Betancourt Medical and I know that they used to work with the Molding Clinic. They no longer work with the Molding clinic because they did not want to have anything to do with the main doctor and his shoddy practices. I believe this was the doctor that worked on Misfortune. I pray that you have a good experience with them and I hope that nothing goes wrong. God Bless

    Can you feel your port

Hello, I was also banded on the 12th of May. I can feel my port just under my biggest scar. Sometimes it is easier to feel than others, but it is always there. I hope that when I loose all of my weight, that it won't be visible. I think you will be okay, but if you are concerned, I would call your doctor and just ask him/her. It will make you feel better and you won't worry so much about the fill. I personally want to wait as long as possible before I have my first fill. I will go in when I stop losing weight. Good Luck

    Your favorite banded supper.....

Hi Everyone I really enjoy cooking, but some of the fun has been taken out since I was banded on May 12, 2006. I still cook for my family, but it is not much fun when you can not eat most of what you cook. One of my favorite meals now is lasagna or other things with Pasta. I also like to make different variations of mashed potatoes! I am just now starting to be able to eat fish and chicken. My stomach does not like beef yet, and I am not pushing it. I eat a lot of tuna fish and crackers still, and some cheese. I am giving yogurt a break because it was making me nauseous to look at it! For extra Protein, I like to eat a tablespoon of Peanut Butter. Any meal suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank You Kelly Banded 05/12/06 Starting @ 255lbs. 06/14/06 @ 238 lbs.

    pressure in throat

The first week after I had my surgery, I had a kind of full feeling in my throat. I do think that this might just be a gassy feeling, but I would say to ask your doctor if it continues. As for the incision, mine was kind of puffy and sore for the first three weeks and it still gets a little sore on occasion. Sometimes if I move wrong it almost seems to catch a little and draws me up short. I would talk to your doctor about the redness, just to be safe. Good luck Kelly

    Complications

I am so sorry to hear about your difficulties with your surgery. I also went to Mexico to have my surgery done, but so far everything has been great. The only complication I have had is a stubborn incision that is healing slowly. This was because the stitches should have been left in for a few more days. I went through Betancourt Medical who I know used to use the Molding Clinic. They advised me that they had severed their relationship with the molding clinic due to problems such as yours. I would really like to know the name of your doctor. The doctors that are involved with Betancourt Medical are Dr. Navarro, Dr. Juncua, and Dr. Lopez. If these are the same doctors under just a different name, they can be located online at Betancourtmedical.com. If these are the same people, then others need to know the risk they are taking by using this facility. I looked and looked for information before I had my surgery and could not find anything negative about them. Please, Please let me know, because I have a friend considering going to these people also. Just because I had a positive experience, does not mean she will. Any information you can give me would be much appreciated.
