  1. I can totally see your point on this one  I am down to a size 42 and about 12lbs shy of being at a weight I was at 12 years ago. I have read quite a few of your posts on here and I can not wait to be able to start running. I am still in the "walking phase but I am trying to increase speed and distance every week. I have not been to Cedar Point since I was about 12 but I cant wait to take my kids there. I love all the roller coasters there. Although many were not there many years ago. Thanks for the comments :skep:
  2. Hello there, Well "SO FAR" I have stopped talking all three of my diabetes meds. I was banded 2 weeks ago. My PCP had me stop all my meds 3 weeks before surgery, and I had to keep track of my numbers. The highest I have been in the past 4 weeks was 125, and that was about an hour after having some chocolate milk during the full liquid stage. I go back on Aug 7th to my PCP to see if he wants me to continue to stay off of them or if he will do an adjustment.
  3. Those are some great things to look forward too. Looks like you are well on your way. Your doing great with the pre weight loss. KEEP IT UP. Very Nice car too :bored:
  4. I am doing pretty good myself. I am still just a tad sore and I have a hard time sleeping.

Not sure how Dr. Minkin does it but I am still on a full liquid diet :) I get to move to soft mushy foods this week. My next Dr. appt is not until the end of Aug. which Dr. Wagner told me he would probably do a fill then. I have noticed that liquids really are not a problem for me, but I dont drink enough because I am scared I will take to much in and strech the upper pouch out.

  5. Pre op all liquid diet was hard, BUT I kept looking at my goal!!!!! I feel GREAT I actually have extra energy :) Have not had to take my 6 medications in a month, of coarse I have not eaten either. Will definatly keep you posted as things progress. So when is your surgery again?

Well I am sure that all places are different, but I was given 3 things for it. They gave me a pill right before surgery, then they gave me a shot in my IV and a patch that went behind my ear. I did not once feel sick at all. as far as the skin goes, I did not have any issues. but then again everyone is different.

I am totally with you on the feeling drained aspect. I cant stand it. My body is aching from being so weak. I am being banded on July 9th - 6 days into my 14 day liquid diet.

    Any July Bandsters out there?

July 9th here, Currently on 2 week all liquid diet :tongue2: but it will all be worth it in the end. I am excited, nervous, anxious, all rolled into one. If you ask my wife Crabby would fall into that category too :cursing:

    Clear liquids

CLEAR LIQUID DIETS SUCK :tongue2: OK i am done venting I am currently on day 6 of a 14 day all clear liquid diet. no Protein no nothing. I am so sick of Jell-o at the moment it actually makes me sick when I try and eat it. I have read a few posts on here where people have made their own chicken stock, and love it a lot better. Needless to say I really feel your hunger pains :cursing:
  21. I know all insurance companies are different, but mine in particular did not stipulate if I had to lose or not, but my Dr. wanted me to do the best I could. One thing to remember is that this is going to be a total lifestyle change, and my insurance company wanted to make sure that I could try to make some of those changes on my six month diet. I know the 6 months is hard, but it will all be worth it in the end. I just completed mine on June 22nd and am now scheduled for surgery on July 9th. I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted.
  22. That is so true, it was what my doctor kept telling me :tongue2: or as they call it Behavior Modifications :cursing: Every little bit will help, It was really amazing to me to see the things I did on a daily basis that contributed to me being heavy. The six months will fly by and you will be banded before you know it.
  23. Hello all, I just completed my 6 month diet on June 22nd, and I will tell you it was very hard, but I kept looking at the goal. Every month I looked forward to seeing the dieticen because I wanted to see how well I did, and knew I was one step closer to at least having the chance to get the lap band ( pending approval ) I wish you luck, and hope you get approved. I am scheduled for surgery on July 9th.

    Dr. Van Wagner - dr.wagner

Thansk for the reply Nicole, Yes, I am having it done at St. Alexius. Yeah the diet thing is pretty tough but I have stuck with it. Bad thing is its a all clear liquid diet, not protien or anything.
  25. Ofallon, is about 25 miles east of St. Louis, near Scott Air Force Base, Belleville. Alton is about 30 miles north of me. Let me ask you a question. I know it is different for everyone, but what kind of things do you eat know that you have been banded? Getting pretty excited about it, but this pre liquid diet thing is killing me :) I know it will be worth it in the end though.
