  1. Hello, So far, and I am only 7 weeks post op too it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. 10 weeks ago I was taking 8 pills for various illnesses. Diabetes to HBP to sleep apnea, and high cholesterol. Today I am on ZERO medications. As with any surgery your nerves will probably get the best of you all the way till they take you back to surgery room, I know mine did. I would do it again in a hearbeat and I look forward to being at a weight I have not been in almost 20 years. You will do fine, and keep us informed.

    St. Louis People

I am still here Well I really am just starting out myself. I was banded on July 9th, and am loving it so far. I cant believe there is not that many people on here not from our area, I have only talked to maybe 3-4 people so far.
  4. I would have to agree it is very important, I am 7 weeks into my journey, and I still have not had bread or red meat, which I am allowed to have starting the 8th week. I still to this day pretty much stick to the mushie type foods. I do have other things every once in awhile, but I get a little nervous.
  5. Hey Kat,

Just had my fill yesterday. I can really tell the difference. I can eat about 5-6 bites and then I am done, my real problem is remembering to eat slower. Well I also made my first goal. I am now under 300 pounds :)

299 - I have not been this weight in over 12 years. I am super excited about it, and cant wait to reach my next goal ;)

  6. Just wanted to say hello, Had my first fill yesterday, and WOW!!! HE put 5cc's in the band so I think I have 7 total right now. Of coarse it is a 14cc band.

I can only eat about 4-5 bites and I am stuffed. It does hurt if I dont CHEW. Man I wish I could remember to do that more.

    My first fill

Well I had my first fill today, 7 weeks after my surgery, I am so looking forward to having restricton, well at least I hope I will have restriction. Doing really good with my weight loss so far. I am down 53 pounds since I started my Pre Op diet, and 81 since my journey began back in Feb.

    My first fill

THANK YOU VERY MUCH I would have to say that I just keep my focus on the prize :blushing: I also dont try to deprive myself of anything either, If I want something I have it, I just eat A LOT LESS!!!!!! I also feel that getting some sort of exercise in is helping me a lot too. I try to walk everyday even if its just a mile, or I try to go swimming, although I dont have many of those days left will fall right around the corner.

    My first fill

Thank You  I "think" there is 7cc's in it at the moment. My Doc puts some in during surgery, I cant remember if it was 2-3 cc's, and my fill today was 5cc's. On only liquids for the next 24 hours, then from there he said to slowly incorperate my other foods.

    TURKEY DAY Challenge 2009

  11. Well First fill is tomorrow :) Cant wait. Not looking forward to the PB's though just need to remember to take it SLOW.

  12. Well it is almost that time, FIRST FILL TOMORROW. I am hoping to be under 300 pounds for the first time in 13 years. Keep an eye on my Ticker ;)

  13. Thanks Kat, I know it is going to help out. I will let you know how it goes. I am not looking forward to the sliming part, I have come close a few times without a fill.

How did you come up with your user name?

I got mine from a nick name my friends would call me. They would run into me and say DAMN you are like running into a WALL, so one of my friends came op with THE WALL 26 is my favorite number, and there you have it. THEWALL26
  15. I can totally understand about the finding people here in the st louis area. I do talk to one person that was getting surgery right after I got mine, we had the same Dr. and try to keep in touch via facebook. I just cant believe that there are not that many people around here that have had the lap band done. This web site has helped out so much.

  16. Well I had to do a 6 month dietican supervised diet first for insurance purposes, I lost 25 pounds in those six months. The rest of the weight has come off since my 2 week pre op diet. For the most part 50 pounds of it has come off since June 22nd.

I cant wait for the fill. I try to eat mostly protein to keep me full longer, however it gets kind of boring. I really cant wait to have bread. I have 2 weeks for that.

I am not doing to bad with the weight loss, I am about 11-12 down since 1st week post op. I totally understand the impatient part. Its like I know what to do I just dont always do it.

  17. Hello there, Yeah not to far away at all :) So how are you holding up? Have you had a fill yet? I am actually getting my first one next Wed. Cant wait.

  18. Hi, I am in the same situation you are in. I actually called my Dr. and he told me the same thing most are saying here. It is a healing phase. I was banded on July 9th and I am getting my first fill on the 26th, next Wed. I cant wait I have still lost about 9 pounds since my first follow up, which is good. I just cant wait to feel more restriction.

    Stomach growling

I really dont think you should have anything to worry about, Have you tried having any other type of Protien? I found that when I did the shake, it just seemed to go straight through the band area, and like you making my stomach growl  Things that I was allowed to have that helped were scrambled eggs, and chicken salad. the cottege cheese was a good one too, but I ate it with 2-3 crackers. I would useally have about 1/4 C eggs, or 3oz chicken salad, or 3-4 oz cottege cheese with 2-3 crakers. You could always get a hold of your Dr. too if it becomes an issue.

    Stomach growling

when were you banded? I am about 7 weeks out at the moment, and I dont really have any restriction just yet. I get my first fill next Wed. I called my Dr. and he told me that I was still in the "healing phase" and it was kind of normal. Right now I can eat almost whatever I want, and I only have the full feeling when I have real food. Especially real Protein and not in the liquid form. I still had the hunger when I would drink Protein shakes and it went away when I was allowed to eat things like cottage cheese, and pudding ect.......
