Hi I am 12 days out and i feel ya. i am so head hungry and feel so pissed that i cant eat what i want when i want it. I have had no problems with surgery or pain and can really do just about anything except eat. all i think about is eating. i keep hoping that when i can eat fish chicken salad that i will feel better about my decision. I knew this wasn't going to be easy but i really thought i would have handled this better. Good luck we can do it we just have to take it one day at a time

Hi I had surgery on March 10 and i am getting in 64 ounces of liquid, and 3 Protein drinks i can do broth, kool-aid with ice, popcicles sf jellow. i don;t seem to be having any issues it bothers me that i am able to get all of this in when everyone else has problems. but i am sick of Protein shakes, jellow and broth. i go back to doctor on Tuesday. i'm full but with liquids. I had lap band removed Jan 6, 2015 and had sleeve revisions march 1. i was hoping to have restriction since my sleeve never worked -
Feeling Discouraged like its never going to work.
grandmasandy replied to jasmajo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wish I could help but I feel as though the lap band hasn't worked for me. I had fills and unfills many times in the past 5 years but I still never got to the point where I felt in control with the band. I am looking into removing it and going with the sleeve if insurance and I can find a doctor to do surgery. Good luck -
I have been banded doe 5 years and have never found the right fit for mr. I have to be in the zone to loose weight. I was either to tight or not enough. Thinking about taking band out and going with sleeve. My doctor said he hardly does any lap bands any more mostly sleeve. Tells me that he isn't happy with results of lap banding. Your thoughts

Hello from St. Louis, MO
grandmasandy replied to Dougfam's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Great job so far. This is the hardest time but you will get through it. It takes 4-6 fills to really start getting restriction for most. I havde 7.2 in a 10cc band and can still tolerate most foods can't eat much at a time but can eat often. Junk food goes real well. I had a bad week and have been eating all of the wrong things. I am going to really try hard this week to eat the right food, Protein first and fish and vegetables. I have lost 91 lbs. and had surgery in April. So keep up the good work and if you get discouraged just get on line and we'll try to cheer you up. Remember we were all new at one time and no question is a stupid question. grandmasandy -
3 weeks post op and feeling frustrated already =(
grandmasandy replied to coingirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I know how you feel. The time between surgery and you first feel is the hardest because you can eat all you want and almost anything you want. You don't have restriction at all at this point. You need to adjust to this because it could take 4-6 months to start getting good restriction. You are living in diet hell for the next few months so you must deceide who is in charge. Take control of yourself and eat the correct food starting with protein and fruits and vegetables. I was able to get down salads pretty good for the first 3-4 months but now can 't even get down a small cup. It does get a little easier with each fill. However it will take 4-6 fills to start reaching some restriction. We are all different. We have to remember the doctor didn't operate on our bad behaviors or brains. He gave us a tool for our stomach we have to work on the other things to make this work. I know how frustrating the first 6 months but I have lost 91 bls. and feeling great. I have 30 to go but would not have gotten here without the help of other. Good Luck Sandy -
3 weeks post op and feeling frustrated already =(
grandmasandy replied to coingirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was banded in April and I had the same questions as you all do. I really didn't understand that I would be hungry until I got to restriction or I didn't listen. I was very hungry and could eat anything. Don't be alarmed if it takes 4-6 months to start feeling restriction. My doctor would only put in .6 at a time every 5 weeks so it seemed to take forever. I am however at 7.2 in a 10cc band and can only take in small amounts. My problem is I can eat almost anything still. I have to watch my portions and what I put in my mouth. Unfortunately junk food goes down well. Listen to what everyone is saying about protein first and eat healthy with exercise and it will work. I have lost 91 lbs. since April and still have 30 to go. I feel better but I still make mistakes. It is still hard work and will power that we will have to have for the rest of our lives. GOOD LUCK. grandmasandy -
Have had up to 9cc's and no real difference
grandmasandy replied to lapband967's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi I have 7.2cc in a 10cc band and I am just now starting to really feel restriction. However I can eat just about anything as long as it isn't alot at one time. This is frustrating because I can also eat often and when eating the wrong foods I don't lose any weight. My chest hurts when I eat to much. You will know when you reach that point, you will slime or your chest might hurt or even your back. I hope this helps. Also my doctor always checks to see how much is in my band before adding just to make sure it is not leaking. grandmasandy -
Help! Stuck capsule!!
grandmasandy replied to jms462001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi try taking 1 teaspoon of meat tenderizer and adding it to warm water maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup. drink this and let it sit for 1 hour. I have tried this on 2 occassions and it has helped. I know it helps disolve protein so maybe it will help you. Also if the pill is juice plus you can chew them because my grandson does. Grandmasandy -

Sorry but what has this got to do with lapband or weight loss? Get focused and email or go to another site to talk about this. grandmasandy
