I was reading up on the lapband last night and read that the average person only looses 45 to 55 % of their access weight with the lapband. I wonder if that's true...So in other words If i need to loose 100 pounds, statistically speaking, I will prob. only loose 50 pounds. That is discouraging to me...very! I hate to pay 14,900.00 out of my pocket plus go through surgery unless I would loose 80% to 100 % of what I need to loose.

I love unjury vanilla. I usually hate Protein Shakes...but this is smooth and the flavor is good....Others have said they like the Unjury strawberry. Look up unjury on line...You have to order it. -

I am having a mental battle. I am 49, weigh 235 (have for 2 years) am 5' 6 1/2 " tall. I want to loose weight and feel like doing things again. I have contemplated lapband for 2 years. I am scared I will have it and regret it. I don't like feeling nauseous or to have stomach pain. I am worried I will regret getting it after I have the band. I try reg. dieting, always quitting and gainning back. I want to know what to expect right after surgery (pain wise and all). I am a worrier as well... I am wondering if I will always be thinking about a foreingn object in my body and if it is eatting through the stomach lining. Is thinking that way normal? I have acid reflux...will that get better or worse with the lapband? Any suggestions, or any advise, I would appreciate..

Hi, I haven't been banded yet but have just heard you can't take advil once you have the band. Does anyone know why? I take advil for very bad menstrual cramps and it is the only thing that helps me. Tylenol doesn't touch it and I don't wanna resort to narcotics for them. I can't imagine having to suffer through cramps because they are so bad for me. The thought of that makes me think i shouldn't get the band. And i really want the band. Thanks

Hi, i was wandering how you are today. Did you call the doctor? If so what did he say? I hope you are feeling better. -
Hey, I like what you had to say. You sound like you would be a good physical trainer. B-4 you had this surgery were you tired alot adn did you exercise. I am thinkig about having the lap band. I like you have 80 pounds to loose . I am very tired a lot. I just found out though that i have sleep apnea so that might have something to do with it. At this point i don't feel like exercising at all.
Thnx, hope you write me back

Hi, I am gonna make a consult appt. here in s. florida for possibly lap band surgery. Do all doctors make you go for a psych appt.? If so what kind of questions do the psychs ask you? LOL . I am intimidated by the thought of this. Lisa

Hi, I wonder if you are glad you had it done? Why do you think the weight is coming off slowly? I am considering having the lap band but I am a big chicken. I worry about complications. I would be dissappointed if I lost slowly. I am not an active person but maybe if the surgery helped me loose weight, I would feel like being more active. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Consult Visit Scheduled!! Yay!
martinbjl replied to tennleslie1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I just read your post and I am thinking about having lapband surgery. Do they charge for the seminars? Is that what you are talking about when you are saying program? Or is that somethng all together different? ote=tennleslie1;1119779]Okay, so I went to another seminar last night held by a different doctor and was really impressed by the presentation and the information given about the program. The good thing is that their fee isn't the outrageously high $3000.00 as the others. This program fee is $750. Which is so much fore doable than the $3000.00 Honestly, I felt more like a Dollar sign than a human being at the previous seminar! Be a good doctor, be a great doctor! But don't charge patients an arm and a leg just to prove it! Anyway, after the presentation, I spoke with the coordinator and scheduled my consult visit. February 12. 2009... this could possibly turn out to be the best Valentine Day gift I could ever hope to receive!! Wish me luck!
