Congrats to you all losing so much weight.. thats wonderful. I havent been on the scale in a few weeks, so im not for sure where im at.. but i know im going down sizes.. ::thumbdown: I have not had a fill .. yet I have restriction. I've had alot more energy.. and i've been running up stairs and not feeling like passing out.. :blushing: Last week my husband had his surgery.. I've been having mostly Soup with him.. His liver was really big, and our surgeon said his surgery was the most difficult that he had ever done. My H ended up with 8 incisions... and had to stay in the hospital longer. My H is very stubborn re; changing his ways.. He refused to do the liquid diet. Im really proud of him.. He has given up having 8 plus soda pops a day.

How's everyone doing? what has it been 5 wks? I'm so happy to report I've lost 18 lbs... -
A friend ask me yesterday if I had been feeling colder than usual, and said that its because we are not consuming very much food, therefore not accumulating the same energy that we produced pre-band. Not for sure if she is correct, but it seems logical to me. This friend is very athletic, and also worked for Abbott, and knows alot about nutrition. Was sort of surprised by her explanation, as I previously thought it was because Im losing some of my insulation :=)

All these issues are just so very scary.. Wishing I never had to go this direction.. Having nightmares about all of these risks.. Alot of horrific stories and stats all the way around it seems. Best Wishes to everyone Peace~

I've only read the information posted here by everyone.. and going off the information given by the Dr who posted.. Im certainly not here to debate this topic or say anything against anyone who has made other choices.. I only chose to give my own opinion based on what I know.. and what I read here on this thread.. Does this mean that the good Dr who posted on this thread gave misinformation ? If so.. he is the educated one of this field.. so maybe he will want to debate.. Peace~

One thing about having the band that bothers me most is the possiblity of erosion. As this thread has demonstrated, its very much a reality that can happen.. I will be asking my Dr to check for this periodically to try and stay safe. If I were to have this occur, I would not have the band put back in.. and would think the scar tissue would have already made such a mark that it would be unthinkable. My opinion about the sleeve, or the bypass is that these operations are too risky and you risk losing a very important organ. It may not have been a friend to many.. in a sense.. but it is something that you just have to have.. and to think of it going in the waste bucket is just aweful.. To know that its unreversible.. could cause damage beyond repair.. and serious risk of fatality. Honestly, Im disappointed that I've had to have the band put in.. Genetics, Hormones, Emotional stress.. seem to have caused such havic on my body. Its really sad to me.. Almost like a terrible disease or carwreck that couldnt be avoided... Im hoping for the best results of course.. and hoping to become a healthier Mom, who is able to do so much more.. and a healthier more attractive wife too... <!-- / message -->

Moon & Chicky, Im right along with you on the Clear Liquids. Friday night I did hit the town.. lol.. to the local smoothie shop and found a vanilla/banana protien shake.. and it lasted two days.. :-o Very yummie.. Today I tried some carnation breakfast and it seems that maybe i cant tolerate the milk yet. I had also tried a low/carb/high protien slim fast that didnt jive either.. I tried a 'Naked' brand protien drink.. apple/banana/pineapple/coconut/protien and soy were the ingredients.. Not very tasty.. but didnt kill me.. Went to work and found that I had overdone it a bit... have to go slow.. Plus I used the stairs atleast 18 times w/in a 16 hr time frame. Sipping chicken broth now.. and this AM weighed 3.5lbs less from surgery day. We can do this.. and hoping to my husband in soon to join the fun.. :-D -

I was banded on Feb 3rd and on the mend with the rest of you. Im a little worried about protien intake, but doing pretty well overall. Have some pain around the port area and sore. Taking it slow, hoping to get up and running asap..
