I'm from Plymouth and I'm looking for some help/mentor. I was banded 2 years ago this coming March. I've only lost 38lbs and I'm discouraged.

I can't get into the chat room at all. When I click on the chat room, I just get a plain blank white page/box. Any suggestions?

For the past couple of months, I have had bad heartburn at night. Sometimes it's to the point where I actually wake up in the middle of the night having food come up with a burning sensation in my throat. Two nights ago, I had heartburn all night and I had that burning sensation again most of the night with liquid/food coming up. All day yesterday and again today, my esophogus is painful and I can't eat or drink anything without it hurting. It starts around the throat area and hurts all the way down the middle of my chest. It also hurts when I burp, it seems like a lot of pressure as well. Could this be a slipped band or something else?? Should I stay on liquids only? NERVOUS!

HI, Thanks so much for the tips. I also have Tricare and checked with my plan and I'm allowed to see a Behavioral therapists. I'm going to check into it this week! Thank you! Sherri

Does the chat feature still work on this website? I haven't been on in a long time and when I went to the chat, I only get a blank screen. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I'm also thinking of going to a therapist/counselor to see why I eat the way I do and why I always turn to food. What kind of therapist should I see? I've been trying to research this but can't get an answer. Should I see a psycologist, psychiatrist??

moonbeam, I feel the same as you. I'm 2 years with lapband and have only lost 25lbs. Just doesn't seem worth it to me. I can't get back on track and my insurance doesn't cover nutritionist visits. I feel alone and I don't know what to do. I'm lost.

I was just diagnosed with diverticulosis. I'm a bit confused about this and wasn't able to speak very long over the phone with my doctor. Does anyone else have this and can you tell me a bit more about it and what to eat and not to eat. Common with lapband or not related at all? Thank you!!

I might need an endoscopy (tube down throat), can the doctor do that without getting an unfill or will I have to get a complete unfill for this procedure?

I normally order a child size portion of chicken parm with extra sauce on the side. No pasta because I can't eat it so I order mashed potato instead. I usually cut the portion in half and bring the rest home.

Oh Allison...boy do I need you!! I was banded in March of 2007. I can't believe it's been almost 2 years! I have only lost 36lbs. Either the band is not working for me or I'm not working the band. There aren't any support groups near me so I'm pretty much on my own. I don't know how to get back on track and stay there!!! If you are willing and able to be my mentor...I would be forever grateful!! Sherri
