Is anyone else noticing more discomfort when you bend over? It seems as I lose more weight, I am more aware of the band when I move. I definitely feel the port more than I did at first. Sometimes I feel a slight burning pain when I bend or when I lay on my side. Is it a normal thing? Is it just me? Should I be concerned?

Ok guys. It's exactly 15 weeks till Christmas. Two pounds a week will mean thirty pounds gone for Christmas. Can we do? I sure intend to!

Barbara465...........What do I have to do to see your pictures on the "Before and After" site?

rroswelltx..........I am sending all the good vibes I can muster. My daughter quit smoking in January after nearly 20 years and she feels like a million. I know it's tough, but I also know you can do it. You've got your head in the right place and just like losing weight it's mind over matter. Good luck and keep us up dated!

Barbara, so glad to hear that you are ok and back on track. You have had your share of problems. I'm not always happy with this thing but I've been fortunate not to experience your kind of issues. Holiday? Food? Yes, I did. I knew football season would be a challenge for me. We have living room tailgate parties. My 15 year old grandson now lives down the street from me and he was so excited to do football with me. I couldn't disappoint him so I made all the terrible foods. What amazes me is that I can eat everything from nachos to cookies to brownies to hot wings to chips and dip to candy and ice cream with no problem. Let me sit down to steak and vegatables and it's golf ball time in no time at all. Strange, this thing we implanted in our bodies! I'm back on track and so far the scale is not telling on me. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a few days before I get too excited. Have a great week everyone. It's a short one!

Hi Jen, Has this been different since surgery or since your fill or just recently? Have you changed the foods you are eating? One of the first foods I ate after surgery was soft boiled eggs and they messed me up big time. I have since been able to eat eggs with no problem. I ate some Dairy Queen last weekend and it sent me to the bathroom for a few hours. Your description doesn't sound like it's related to a particular food. As long as you're not having discomfort I think it's better than the other problem that some of us have had and that's constipation. Let us know what your doctor says. I hope your next fill brings you some success. I know how frustrating it is to look at the same number on the scale day after day. Just remember, it's not going up and that's a good thing. It will happen. Apparently it's going to take some time to get ourselves on the right track. Good luck and happy holiday.

Barbara take it easy or you could really ruin a holiday weekend. What's your opinion? Do you think we will continue to have these episodes as long as we have the band? Or do you think it will level off? I really thought we'd be in a routine by now, knowing what we could handle and what we couldn't. I have absolutely no regrets getting this done but it sure is different than I expected.

Barbara I hope you are ok. I don't have any magic answer. When I get the golf ball feeling I need to stay on my feet ..........staying as straight as I can. I might do a quick bend over or lifting my arms over my head for a few seconds. Usually it works itself out pretty quickly. I've never had anything last any amount of time. Let us know that everything is ok.

Ok, I'm claiming another three pound loss. I have been bouncing around for a few days so I've decided if I claim it that will make it mine. Can't wait to get into the 220's.........Onederland is on the horizon. Thanks for your thoughts, Pinky. Now when I brush my teeth I will at least think about exercising. I'm going walking this morning. Maybe not as far as I should but it's a start. Is there anyone out there as excited about football season as I am. College football (especially the SEC) is the one thing that can keep me out of the casinos on the weekends. Of course with football comes Buffalo wings, barbeque, pizza, nachos, chips, dip, etc. At least I'm not a beer drinker. Hope everyone has a great weekend and holiday. Let's enjoy ourselves but just with smaller quantities.

I know everyone is different but I eat all vegatables without concern. I was surprised this morning when I ate some big green seedless grapes. The skin on them was pretty tough and I was (gross) spitting out the skin. Then a couple skins slipped pass and I swallowed them and, ......... nothing. So I continued to eat them, skins and all, and everything was fine. My biggest problem is dry meat and most all bread products. I have always been a huge bread lover..........all kinds of bread, so this is the toughest thing for me to do without. Night before last I made meatloaf and I overcooked it. Dry! Yuck, it didn't work. Yesterday I ordered a mushroom, bacon burger in a restaurant. It was overcooked by my standards and even without the bun, I couldn't get it down. I tried three little bites and got golf ball each time. My husband was eating country fried steak and with lots of gravy on it, it went down without any problem. Not exactly what I should be eating, but the three bites that I had won't make or break this diet. My latest favorite is Alouette Creme Brie cheese (without the rind). I could eat an entire container in one sitting. I ate it with my grapes and some cantaloupe for breakfast today and it was awesome. It's a good source of protein too. Hope everyone is having a good day. I need some motivation to get back into the exercise routine. I feel so good when I exercise regularly but when I get off track and skip a day or two I can't seem to get re-motivated. Any suggestions?

Ok, I'll admit it too. I've been closet shopping. I'm down at least one size and sometimes two sizes. It's been so many years since I've enjoyed clothes. I'm looking forward to going shopping in regular size stores. I really don't plan to buy anything until I'm in misses 14 or maybe 16. Since I'm not working outside the home I really don't need clothes like you gals who go out in the business world. I am seeing a couple more pounds off the scale but I'm not posting it for a couple more days. I'm one of those people who steps on the scale a couple times a day and the ups and downs can be discouraging. When I go away for the weekend (which is most every weekend) getting on the scale is the first thing I do when I walk into the house. I think this fill is working pretty good. I've had a few golf balls but that's ok with me. It slows (or stops) me down and that seems to be my biggest problem. I have found I simply cannot eat soft bread like white bread or yeast rolls, etc. I have been craving pizza and I'm doubting that I will be able to handle the crust since I like pan pizza. Sometimes I only eat the toppings and that will be ok if that's all I can handle. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my progress. Of course I'd like for it to be faster but I think this is the healty way and the idea that it is gone forever is so wonderful. Knowing that I will never be over 235 again is so encouraging. Hope everyone else is having a great week and I too miss everyone here when things get quiet and no one is posting. Love to hear everyones successes and I can relate to so many of your problems. I was reading July groups posts last night since nothing was happening with our Junebies. Keep posting!

Barbara..........Sounds like I am missing a lot by not reading all the other threads. Why do you think our doctors have such different ideas regarding diet post fills. I was filled on Monday and told to eat "soft foods" for 48 hours. I ate a taco salad last night and a spinach salad today and all is fine. I am having steak and baked potato for dinner. Liquids for six days seems exreme but you should lose faster.

Barbara4.......didn't they leave the needle in while you did the barium swallow? Why the second stick. Hope this one finds your sweet spot. Good to hear from Melissa, I've been wondering about you. Don't you just love it when your clothes get baggy!

Hey RRoswelltx........ Oh my gosh! Talk about inspiration. Please tell what you have been doing to make the pounds come off so quickly. You look awesome. I'm jealous too but I am so happy for you and I'm still so proud of every pound I've lost and this time it is "lost" forever. Yo-yo is no longer part of my vocabulary. Please don't let the jealousy of others get to you. If they are truly your friends they will be happy for you and hopefully they will get inspired by watching you shrink. Keep up the great work and just know that you have made my day!!!

I just got back from my second fill. The nurse had to readjust three times to get it right. Hopefully she'll have a little more experience before I go back. The gal who does the blood pressure/weighing was telling everyone to completely eliminate bread, pasta and rice from your diet. She said they had just had a bad experience with someone getting "stopped up", causing the upper pouch to overfill and fall over the band. The person had gone back for surgery. Yuck! Hope it wasn't any of our friends. If anyone hears anymore details, please post. Has anyone else heard anything about no bread, pasta or rice? Sounds like the Adkins Diet. I didn't get my water in over the week end but I'm back ontrack today. Oh yes, I lost another two pounds. Yippee!

Good Morning......Hope everyone is doing great. I've had a rough week getting back into a routine. I had to make an emergency trip to Florida and it has messed with my schedule. I got my water in yesterday but still haven't been exercising. I finally dropped a couple pounds, thank goodness. I go for my second fill on Monday so I am planning on serious refocus. I lost track of the one year anniversary get together. Did I miss out? Has a decision been made about where to go, etc. Please let me know if I can get on the list of interested bandsters.

I was wondering if any of you Houston bandsters that go to the SurgiCenter for your fills ever see your doctor? Is it just Spivak and Spiegel? Will we ever see the doctor again? It just seems a little strange to me. I read other posts of post-op doctor visits and I wonder why my doctor doesn't see his patients after the deed is done. Not that I feel any need to see him........just find it a little strange.
-
PAB.........What an awesome inspiration you are! Congratulations.

I didn't make my water goal yesterday but got in about 48 oz. I'll do better today. I am off to my private gym. Looking forward to a great day and really, really looking forward to my fill tomorrow.

Good Monday Morning Everyone, I didn't get my water in on Saturday or Sunday but I'm off to a good start today. I'm getting back on my exercise routine too. I got lazy along with depressed last week. Funny how that goes hand in hand. My daughter lives a block from me and I've convinced her to turn her garage into a gym. She had a treadmill and a couple small exercise things. I bought a Bowflex and an exercise bike. We carpeted the floor, hooked up cable for t.v., have a refrigerator full of bottled water and a "huge" shop fan. So..........I have no excuse. I don't even have to get in the car, I just walk down the street. I have my own garage door opener so I don't have to bother her or the kids when I want to exercise. We did all of this week before last and I did great the first week and I actually started to feel the effects. Then the "blue funk" hit last week and I sat here feeling sorry for myself. Yuck! I am scheduled for a fill on Wednesday and I can't wait. As it is right now I can and have been eating anything and everything. My weight has not budged in almost a month. Actually, I'm lucky it hasn't gone up. This is the beginning of a new week and a new attitude. I read how some of you are having some real problems and it makes me feel guilty for my boo-hooing. For those of you having medical problems please get medical help. For those of us who are just having attitude problems lets help each other stay on track. I find exercise is the best thing for my mental health. The problem is getting physically active when you are mentally in a funk. Good luck to everyone and let's remember that yesterday's mistakes are history and we can't fix them but we can make today a better day and if each day is better than yesterday nothing can get in our way.:clap2:

First day on H2O Challenge and I'm finished early! Yippee. I've spent lots of time running down the hall today (bathroom).
-
Warmmorningsun, you are our inspiration today!!!!! Congratulations! I'm all for a new, more positive attitude. I really needed an attitude adjustment. Thanks.
-
Lasonyadj...........boy it's nice to hear something positive. Keep up the good work. Let us know more about the lemon cleanse. Randi L............you are probably right about age being partially responsible for our problems. Let's not let that stop us. If you're like me you've spent most of your adult life fighting your body and mind. Being overweight and depression have influenced everything in my life and I think I deserve some relief from both. I'm starting the H2O challenge today and I'm sending good vibes to all bandsters out there today!
-
Barbara.............it does seem you have had more than your share of problems. I am hoping things will settle down for you soon. I think we are all ready for some normalcy to return to our lives. Water is always recommended for constipation and with your success with the H2O Challenge you should be in good shape. Does the Activa give you more fiber? Water and fiber "should" take care of your problem. We're all pulling for you...........good vibes coming your way.

Christa.............I hear ya! I guess we all go through times when we get discouraged. I am really down right now. We have to keep encouraging each other and hopefully this will pass and so will the pounds.
