I had Lapband surgery from Dr. Huacuz in August 2006 and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will never have surgery in the US again. He is the most passionate and caring physician and his team is the best in the world. He has made a difference in my life. I was nervous too but after my husband had his done in May 2006 by the same physician, I felt safer in Mexico than I did in my own hometown. My email address is: maryblvnv@aol.com if you want to ask more questions or need more information I would be more than happy to help out. God Bless

Just curious...Has anyone seen this or heard of it?
jboy replied to Sandybells's topic in The Lounge
Sandybells- I am legal counsel for the general contractor on this. While it looks scary as hell it is highly over engineered. It can resist sustained winds of over 100 mph and bear the weight of 10, yes 10, 747's...I have been out on the site several times with the risk manager of the company and you would not believe the amount of steel and concrete that went into the footings to hold the superstructure... I was also banded on May 18th and have not had my first fill but have lost 28 lbs..They used the 9.75 Inamed band on me and the doctor said it may provide some restriction right from the start..So far so good....:clap2:

Penni60-- I am not sharing PRIVATE information here..This private information you allege would be divulged can be found in any of her other posts as well as her most recent posts..I am talking about the information concerning all of the inconsistencies in Misfortunes story and the possible link that Gadgetlady and elise all may be the same person..Isnt the truth what we are looking for..Misfortune started this by leveling accusations at a certain doctor..Once she was challenged is when all of the BS started to fly.People who read these posts should have the whole story, not just the crap that some people throughout there that cant be substantiated..why is everyone so afraid of what the truth is here. And by the way..where has Misfortune been lately.....I am not vindictive, as Gadgetlady claims..I could care less who she is or what she does..Trying to focus my attempts at finding the truth as being "vindictive" is a really poor attempt by Gadgetlady for all of us to lose sight of what all started this....Lets just sort it out and find who is who and what the truth is.....

Go ahead and report me...GEESH...whats the matter..the truth hurt....

Hey Momof4- Sorry to hear about your experience with Dr. Teng..Also being from Vegas, I know how limited our choices are..Did you look at going somewhere else for aftercare since Teng doesnt seem interested?
-
And by the way..her statement was not an "interpretation of her own experience" as you allege..it contains very specific allegations of alleged negligence....If it was just her "opinion" that someone had done something wrong, that would be one thing...this is something entirely different....next time, read her post in its proper context before you make statements which are incorrect.....
-
I am taking my time to "investigate" this matter out of concern that the allegations leveled against Dr. Huacuz, if true, are quite serious..Dr. Huacuz was my surgeon, just two weeks ago, and I find it highly questionable that what is alleged to have happened, actually did...Dr. Huacuz was the subject of very vicious, and unfounded attacks on him last year on this forum, all of which were proven untrue but were instead a direct result of the clinic owners negligence and in direct contravention of the doctors orders..As a professional myself, like doctors, our reputations are one of our most prized possessions. It is sooooo easy for people to get onto forums like this, say whatever they want and before you know it, the story has bloomed into something horrendous and everyone has something bad to say about that professional..Dr. Huacuz is an excellent and compassionate surgeon who, if these facts are not correct, is being terribly maligned..Do I have a hidden agenda? Give me a break...you have been watching too many conspiracy movies..why does someone have to have a hidden agenda when all thery are trying to do is make sure another human being is not being unfairly treated....and no, not all lawyers live and die by the clock and charge for everything they do..another misperception by an obviously uneducated mind....:angry

The lawyer is still here and to correct you..I never called Misfortune an outright liar..I questioned the veracity of the comments made in the original post, as I think everyone should..Hell, Misfortune went from having a bad experience to dribbling on about people disappearing in Mexico or waking up with certain organs missing....I am in the process of verifying her story as we speak with people who would know about this situation in Mexico...If in fact she is right, I will whole heartedly back her...but her facts and accusations better be right if she is going to post such defaming things on a public board.

Both Kuri andOrtiz are EXCELLENT EXCELLENT surgeons. As a matter of fact,Ortiz had been my firstchoice but due to a three week trial I was involved in, defending another US doctor for malpractice, I lost a window to have it done. when my next opportunity arose Ortiz was booked solid..he is VERY much in demand...Surprisingly, when I asked Ortiz about Huacuz he had very favorable things to say about him..I did my research..talked to many of his patients as well as two of the bariatric surgeons here in Las Vegas..Nothing but positive comments...While I certainly feel for the poor soul who had an alleged bad outcome I still find it hard to believe he has not had any contact with Huacuz..Before I went into surgery my wife was given his personal cell phone number that we can reach him at anytime on..A dear friend of mine who was banded by him last July also got his private cell phone number..We dont have any problems getting ahold of him....Again, I stand by what I say.......use your brains when you read these posts and consider the source...

Sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience at Moulding. Unfortunately, I have to disagree with your charecterization of Dr. Huacuz as being a less than stellar surgeon.I was banded by Dr. Huacuz on May 18th in Tijuana. I have nothing but the highest regard for this man and his team, and that says a lot coming from me. You see, I am an attorney who for the last 15 years has been defending butcher doctors in the United States. I didnt go to Mexico for the "financial" benefit of the cheaper cost. I was self pay and could have written a check for the procedure in the USA as well as in Mexico. I went there for the experience that the Mexican doctors have over the US doctors..who do you think proctored the US doctors once the FDA gave the approval.Given my background I was VERY VERY thorough in checking into the reputations of these doctors..both thru references, Inamed, other doctors,etc..a process that took me well over 7 months.I can tell you that the ONLY issue regarding Dr. Huacuz was related to a women, last July, that was not given nausea medication by Andres Bantacourt, and as ordered by Dr. Huacuz, which led to problems.....this was something completely out of the control of this doctor. I find it interesting that after a surgeon who allegedly nearly cost you your life, you couldnt exactly remember his name. In 15 years of doing medical malpractice I have yet to see any patient who has been harmed by a doctor that could not rattle his name right off the tip of their tongue......and a year post op--you just now find this site..Sorry..smells too fishy..I have seen too many threads and posts on here by people that simply want to scare people from this or that surgeon or from going to Mexico to get the procedure done. Remember people...do your homework..research..research...research....DO NOT PUT YOUR HEALTH IN THE VALIDITY OF THESE POSTINGS....you are responsible for your health and the decisions you make regarding it. With that said, I can, without reservation, recommend Dr. Huacuz and his team..and I can provide you at least a dozen other people who I personally know have used him and have the same feeling........USE YOUR BRAINS PEOPLE......:angry
