  1. Congrats! Hubby and I just got banded on the 13th and we are feeling great!
  2. Hi Everyone! Hubby and I just got back from a nice walk. We live in Texas and the weather is wonderful here today! We both went back to work this week. I went back on Monday and he went back on Tuesday. We are both feeling so good right now. Still have a little port site pain but other than that we are pain free. How about you guys? Still cant find a Protein drink I like so I am sticking to the 3oz bullets. I have read that you should only consume 20oz of protein at a time. Has anyone else heard this? The guy at GNC says your body cannot tolorate anymore than that and that is what is causing the 'ill' effects. Not sure if it is true or not but split mine up today and have felt great!
  3. Baylee! No FF does not mean French Fry silly!! LOL FF - Fat Free. It has been great going through this with my husband. We have an 18 year old son who can eat whatever he wants and still stay skinny! Kills me!! He has been eating Taco Bueno, Taco Bell, Arby's, you name it! Smells so good when he brings it home, but he has been forbidden to bring home McDonald's french frys!
  4. Hi Everybody! It sounds like everyone is doing great! Hubby and I are too, of course we are one of the lucky ones and getting to eat mushies and squishies. Only a 1/4 cup at a time, but it is something and so far so good, everything is staying in or down. I am with some of yall the Protein is causing some unpleasant side effects. I have been drinking the pro-slammers in the morning. It's only 3oz and 42 grams of protein. I drink a little over half in the morning and save the rest for late afternoon, that's the one that gets to me! LOL Had ff refried Beans and cheese for dinner.....had no idea how good these things were or are now! LOL We have our 1st appt 2-3 and we dont get a fill for 3 months! Still say it's crazy how different all the doc's are.
  5. Good Morning Everyone! I hope that everyone is feeling as well as me and my hubby are. We are doing great. He is having a little more difficulity with the no eating than I am. But we get to start eating tomorrow. Musshies and squishes is what my doctors office calls it....meaning anything you can mush with a fork as well as juicy chicken, fish, turkey, etc. We are looking forward to tomorrow but we are also going to tread with caution. We are going to head out to the movies today to see Bart the Mall Cop. About incisions - I have 6 but remember I had to have a hernia repair. I have one in my belly button and one on each side about 2-3 inches away from my belly button. Then I have three at the top of my stomach one right under my boob - that is the port. One right in the middle that was my hernia and I have no idea what the other one was for but they are three side by side. I also have a bandaid on my arm, like I must gotten a shot or something during surgery because I sure dont remember getting one before. My husband has 7! He calls them bullet holes and I have no idea why he has so many. He did have the bigger band though so not sure if that has anything to do with it the number. I am so happy to hear that we are all doing well. But I find it so funny who can eat when. Becky at my Dr's office said that we dont want to torture you to long so we let you eat pretty soon but no more than 1/4 at a time. Have a great day everyone!
  6. Hi Baylee9866 - luckily I never experienced the shoulder pain. The nurse warned be about it before surgery, said it would be a build up from gas and to walk walk walk to help is go away. Hope you are feeling better!
  7. Wow! How easy was that!?!?!? We were told to be at the surgery center at 6am so we got there about 10 til and the doors were locked! My husband was so excited he said that perhaps they cancelled all surgeries for today! LOL Luckily they hadn’t and we were allowed in at 6am and from there everything was fast-forward. I don’t not remember much after receiving something to help me relax in my IV. I don’t know what that miracle stuff is but it is fantastic! I barely remember being wheeled into the operating room, I can recall seeing the lights above me and that’s it until I woke up in recovery fighting the oxygen mask. Next thing I know they are already getting me up out of the bed to get my barium swallow. I vaguely remember the walk, the x-ray or the walk back to the recliner. My nurse was great she was talking to me the whole time I just didn’t care what she was saying until……she told me that I had a hiatal hernia my ears perked up then and I said do what?!?!? And she said it again; I asked her what did that mean? She that I would be a bit sorer for the extra surgery, I thought to myself I didn’t sign up for that crap how did that happen!!! LOL The nurse soon called my sister back to sit with me as my husband was already in surgery. I talked to my sister a bit but was not really in the talking mood (VERY unusual for me!) she got the hint and left and called my Dad back to sit with me. He did well he just sat there until I was ready to start talking; it took about 20 minutes to get the cobwebs out. But soon after I told my Dad to call the nurse I wanted to get up and walk I remember reading that was the best thing to do to help get rid of the gas and just all in all feel better. How right they were! Hubby got out about an hour after I did so I sat with him for a bit then had my Dad take me home and drop off our prescriptions so he could pick them up when he was bring hubby home. We both felt great once we were home, we got up and walked 5 mins every 30 minutes for the first 4 hours and then moved to 5 mins once every hour. My daughter was here to help take care of us as far as making the ice packs getting us our meds, etc. Had an okay night trying to sleep I will be happy when I can roll around in the bed as normal but hey I am not complaining one little bit! I hope that everyone else’s surgery went as well as both me and my husband. Cant wait to hear from all of yall!
  8. This is my first post on here. I have been reading this site for several months while going through the thoughts of getting 'banded' (new term for me). After much discussion happily my husband and I are both getting banded Tues 1-13. I am totally excited and he is totally scared. LOL We have been through all of our pretests (last Thursday) and are now just waiting for the BIG day. I am a bit nervous but much more excited. I know that this is only a tool to help me lose weight, but what a GREAT tool. I have lost over 100 pounds three times in my adult life but cannot keep it off. I am using Lap Band to help me keep it off this time! Good luck everyone and hope to hear about yalls journey as we go.
