Congrats on the 3 pounds. Way to go. Faster is not always better. I heard the slower you go the less likely you are to have lots of hanging skin.
-
Sister, it is the worst.I thought -I'm gonna die, just kill over and die. Your doc doesn't do and xray to a least find the port? Or can you see yours? I can feell mine and my band know that I've lost weight. It feels weird. And only you know if you need a fill, we are like the stars in the sky -all of us are different. I am filled total 2.25 in a 4cc band and that was my second fill. Some folks can only do .5,.3,.7 at a time. We are all different.

Tuesday I went for a fill. The films looked great I had restriction but the barium did go through fine. By the time I got back to work, I couldn't even drink water. I thought well I must be swollen everything should be fine tomorrow. Well, it wasn't I had to drink my water with a spoon. So I called up Dr. Thompson at Nova Body Solutions and he said get here asap. So, I went in and got a little unfill- the films looked great. Dr. Thompson made sure I could drink water before I left and boy was that water good. He got on me for waiting a whole day before calling him. He said anytime you can't drink you are in trouble. He was so kind and apologized for the restriction. Last night Joline the radiologist called and checked in to make sure everything was going o.k. I feel much better. 50lbs. lost

Speaking of Stuck. Where does it get stuck? Top of the pouch? Bottom of pouch? Why do things get stuck? Something is smaller, now? I know it feels like an elephant sitting on my chest. And I know it's my fault for not going slow or chewing well.

I have seen these machines that do both at the same time, but I don't know how you would explain to guest that kind of workout equipment sitting in your workout room. Dh and Friends (and this board) have got me a long way. Everyone needs good support. Thanks.
-
This does work for me. My Dh is aware of foods that get stuck easy, maybe I have elected not to eat or shouldn't eat and he will ask,"Are you sure about that?" That really puts things in persective for me and I re-think my choices. Just as I ask him about that pepper he's about to eat that I know will cause heartburn later. I started walking at work and when I don't go folks will ask, "Not walking today?" Boy, when I have to give any answer to that my excuse to myself not to go doesn't make much sense anymore. 48 down Sherrie

"Easy way out" my tail feathers. Sister, there is nothing easy about it. You have to maintain, watch what you eat, look at the ol' foods you love become the enemy(work through the pych things). It's life changing thing. But, at the end of the day you will have taken a very brave step to getting yourself healthy. I've heard people say,"you only lost weight because you got the band." Heck Yea! And I made a choice to change my life. I'm proud- I'm banded. Your 20 that's great. Alot of us, lost out alot on life because we sat around and didn't make the hard choices. Go for it. And he is an EX. who cares what he thinks. Get healthy and have fun finding the next EX. 48lbs. lost

Marni, 1000 calories may not be enough. Your body might go in starvation mode. Then the body stores everything.

Girl Scout Cookies are the work of the Devil. And my daughter peddels his wears, so I've got lots of boxes. Why do they taste so good???
-
I guess I will but in the never vault with bread, boiled eggs and the double cheeseburger with extra pickels mayo and guacamole.

I do not keep a journal. I also do not plan food each day. Once a week I make sure I have things here in the office I can eat. Can of Tuna, Soup, Salmon etc. Mornings are easy for me. I have a Slim fast Low carb on the way to work(20gram protein), about two hours later I have low cal low fat yogart (10 gram protein). Then I just wing it,always keeping my Protein for the day in mind. Sagging skin? Oh, Yea but, I know a great plastic surgeon. Does anyone here drink Soda anyomore? I haven't had one since Nov. 1st. My name is Sherrie and I was Diet Dr Pepper user and abuser. I'm afraid to drink one, what if I can't stop.

Welcome to the banded life. Congrats.

I have the same thoughts. Double cheese burger. Sicilian Pizza. Etc. Boiled eggs are a good source of protein. I get the omega 3 eggs. But, I can't eat them boiled or poached. Scrambled is the only way. Congrats. on 6 more pounds. Remember to measure. You'll probably see an even bigger diff.+ 48 down

Since the band the only time I feel full is when I finish off a bottel of water. I eat until I think it's been enough volume. It's hard especially if I don't get stuck right away and things are going smooth. I just try not to make food so important as it used to be, instead of saying lunch or dinner I call them nutrition breaks. Weird? I just tell my DH it's time for a break and we'll get something to eat. It has been a new way of thinking for me. Cause I LOVE FOOD!
-
Btw I was always told to wait 1 1/2 hour -2 hours after meals. I drink so much zero cal. flavored water throughout the day I'm never in need. I drink bunches 30 min. before meals. It seems to work out o.k. I feel weird because everyone else has had more than one fill and I've had one (1.5 cc). But I don't think I could take another. I get stuck so easy and on a good day I can get in maybe a cup of food.

You can do it!!!!!!!!!

"an honoring of me" Love it!! I'm going to steal that phrase if you don't mind.

Good Morning !!!!! Thank you Lord my feet hit the ground today!!!! Stretch! And may our scales be kind today!!! It's going to be a great day. 47lbs. down

You guys are doing great. My band friend always tells me. Protein first, veg. then carb if you have room. Easier said than done I know. Think about all the fats your aren't eating now. Muscle ways more than fat. So you can lose two inches of fat and the scale never say a thing. If you start toning alot or moving alot more than before the scale may not show loss as fast. We didn't become big overnight, but one day we will wake up and be fine and fit. Good luck and many blessings.

Insurance usually covers a tummy tuck if the hanging skin is causing rashes and such or if you need a hernia repair. Boobs are sometimes covered if they are causing rashes and such or are too big. A good PS can help you find a reason for insurance to help. I am more than certain I'm having a TT. I had a boob reduction before LB.
-
I haven't had a good one since surgery, well I was never regular before. I drink about a gallon of water a day nothing seems to help. Occasionally I use a suppository. I guess what goes in must come out..sooner or later.
-
I can't have tortillas. I love them, I make them for my family but as for me -it's a big no-no. I can't eat eggs that are boiled, poached or fried, only scrambled. I would love to eat a big fat taco. That's why I needed to have the band in the first place-I love food. My first nutrition break of the day is a Low Carb Slim fast, then I have a low fat light yogurt, small lunch, small dinner or another slimfast.
-
Are you guys measuring? The scale is not always the our best friend. If we measure once a week we might see results that we don't see on the scale. I can tell you I have lost more inches than pounds.
-
All the bars i've tried taste like cardboard. I perfer Slim Fast Low Carb drinks with 20 grams of protein.
-
Don't feel discouraged. Everyone loses at a different rate. Are your getting enough protein through out the day. I need at lest 20 grams per meal to keep from getting hungery. I drink Slim fast low carb(20 grams of protein) to ward off stomach pains. The more protein you take in the less you get the pains, because it takes longer to process the protein. Are you drinking lots of water between meals? I don't like the taste of water so I've been using these water flavor packets from Walmart called Fuel Fill. I mix them in a Propel sports bottel. The packet has vitamins, it seems to help. I hope this helps and remeber everyone is different.
