  1. I have to chew bread reeeaally well, then its okay. My only real problem food is chicken; no more grilled chicken-way too dry. Baked chicken breast is also problematic. The only way I can eat chicken is in the form of chicken salad that has lots of mayo to make it very moist but that's not healthy food and defeats the point of the band so I don't eat it.
  2. Hi, I know the slimeing very well. Its not a fun thing. I know its a sign that I didn't chew my mouthful of food enough and its "stuck" but eventually goes through after walking around, jumping up and down in place, slimeing and tapping the base of my throat like you'd burp a baby. By then the rest of my meal is cold. To me, its just ridiculous that I go through all this just because I didn't chew enough. I think I'm still learning HOW to eat properly and many times I'm having a meal in front of the computer or tv and I get caught up and revert back to my old gulping-large-chunks-of-food-like-a-dog eating habit. Its SO hard! I'm trying to change a lifetime of bad habits. I'm 4 years out but never had a fill until the beginning of february. (Long story) I'm trying to get on track and benefit from having gone through the surgery. Despite any surgery being potentially life threatening, I think the REAL hard part is learning about food and eating, all over again, for the rest of my life. You're not alone.

how are you suppose to feel after a fill?

I had a bad experience with my original surgeon. Had the band installed in 2004, and after his attitude added to a bunch of "life stuff" I ended up with 2 checkups and no fills. Now I found a very nice doc and had my first fill. I seem to get that stuck feeling faster but still feel hungry lower down in my stomach. I will run this past my new doc but am wondering what other bandsters experience is with this. What kind of satiety are you experiencing? Thanks.
  4. Hi, Now that it has been awhile since your surgery, how do you like your doctor? Are you comfortable with her? Thanks.

  5. I lost 36 lbs by the time I reached the 4 month mark.
