    I was filled jan 6/09 and like you suddenly was throwing up and not able to eat. ( Lost 30 so also thought it should be looser) I had a defil of 1.5 last wed . I was told it had to do with the change in the weather.

    Have you been in contact with someone with chicken pox. I believe they are caused by the same virus.

    Hi Kerrie, I had the dry heaves after banding too. I even made a trip to emergency and they gave me something to settle the nausea. My surgeon's office said it was swelling of my stomach was the cause. Hope that helps a bit. I know it is awful but it will pass. Good luck!!

    Yes Yes Yes. My surgery was Nov 6/08. Down 38 lbs and so much more energy. I feel like I have a new chance at life. I have struggled with my weight for my whole life.

    I quit coffee for the first month post surgery bt now have a cup or two with skim milk. (used to have light cream so the skim milk has been an adjustment)

    I had the surgery in Nov and have lost 35.5. My hubby has lost 11 without surgery . There is no junk food in our house and he is eating what I eat just more. We are both getting healthy

    It may have been the dumplings. I was banded nov 6/09 and can't eat anything that is doughy or I end up pbing and I agree it is something you want to avoid. Good idea to check with your Dr

    Hi Linda, Glad to hear you are a bit better today. I think the drugs they give you during the surgery can really mess with your hormones and emotions Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyday you will feel a bit better and stronger.

    Hi Wendy, Being banded will be a big help. You will feel full and in a few weeks will not be thinking of food all the time. Once you have a good restriction most of the time you feel like you just finished a meal. Good luck!!!!

    Hi Oblong, I didn't get a last supper because my surgery was booked very quickly (8 days) and I had to start the pre op diet. Now 3 months since banding I can eat small amounts of most food and because I am actually hungry I can taste the food and enjoy the little bit much more. Good luck!!!

    The reason is because it expands in the stomach because of the carbon dioxide. I used to be a big diet pepsi drinker and after 3 months really don't miss it at all. Good Luck!!
