How much does stress affect the ability to lose weight? I have been struggling for almost 2 months to lose any weight. I've been under a tremendous amount of stress for the last month or so. I've changed my diet and exercise a lot more per my nut/ Added more aerobic and weight training. I saw a 3-4 pound increase since working out more which seems reasonable. But no weight loss. Getting discouraged and need some advice PLEASE!!! :w00t: Barb

I lose and gain the same 3 pounds for 3 weeks and then my lowest weight becomes my highest and I yoyo again. It sucks but that's my body. My surgeon tells me we don't constantly lose it's more of like a staircase lose a little, stabilize, lose a little, stabilize. Personally i put my scale away cause it's just making me frustrated. I'm going by the way my clothes fit at this point. My Nut told me to change up the food and put more carbs in my diet. I was only getting them from fruits and veggies. I know I need to drink more Water. I joined a gym 2/9 and gained 3 pounds and my thighs and calves are larger/ I know it's a temporary thing and I feel a ton better. I have to quit beating myself up over the number. and concentrate on how i look and feel Oh well That's Barb's thought for the day.

I was walking the neighborhood the day after I got home. Walk, walk, walk. As far as anything else I agree that after two weeks I was ready to do more. After 6 weeks I was completely back to normal.I was told the exact same thing. Walk a minimum of 30 minutes daily following surgery and full exercise in 6 weeks. Make sure the Doc gives you the okay and there aren't any contraindications. Barb

I guess I'm not at full restriction. Am I doing any harm by drinking too fast to the pouch? or is it just sliding thru?

Himow is right. I's about the percentage of weight lost. exercise and where you lose are other key factors. Measure your arms legs hips chest neck etc... you're are losing somewhere. Maybe you rings are getting bigger. Hang in there! Barb

It's a good time to find this post. I have been losing and gaining the same 4 pounds for nearly 3 weeks. I get so frustrated at times. I needed to hear others are going thru it too. It's not the 1st time it has happened but it still seems like it is every time it happens. I'll keep plugging away tho. hope the scale moves for all of u fellow plateau-ers. Barb

Had my 5th fill yesterday, I have 9cc in an 11cc band. I think I may have reached my spot. but I tend to decrease swelling after 2 weeks. I'll keep u posted if the restriction goes away again. UGH!My doc is filling at .5cc at a time now. He said I should be there soon.

I'm not sure. I'm only 4 months out. How far out are you and how much were you eating? I tend to eat quite a bit in the evening and fear someday mine may stretch. I have 9cc in a 11cc band. not sure if I am feeling full restriction yet. I got a fill yesterday and have been on liquids. Hope things work out for you. What did your Doc say?

I'm still too big to see my port but I can feel it. I've read ppl have them moved after all the weight loss at times if they protrude too much. Sorry no help

I did what indiogirl said. I ate all day long in that stage. When I went to pureed I tried to eat every hour to hour and a half. Then on soft i ate less frequentlymaybe ebery 2 hours and so on. You need your Protein and liquids to heal, don't worry about weight loss in this healing stage. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know just how you feel. My 1st appt w/ surgeon was 11/08. I had to have 6 months of scheduled weigh ins with my pcp doc. Surgery finally 9/09. I'm down 50 pounds and feel great. Everything happens for a reason or so they say. Hang in there, it will be here before you know it.

I wish I had known it would take 5 or so fills to get to my sweet spot. I have 8.5 cc in am 11 cc band and not there yet. Next fill (5th) on Jan 20th, hopefully it's THE ONE:thumbup:

I heard most people are at their sweet spot at the 4-5 fill. I'm on my 4th and feel full most of the time but that has gone away before. I have an appt on jan 20,2010- we'lll see then if i need more of a fill. its trial and error.

Hi, I just had my 4th fill. I have 8.5cc in an 11cc band. I had great restriction on my last fill (DEC 9.2009) for 4 days then it went away. This fill 12/30/09 .5cc. I don't feel the tightness soon like I did last time but I can go longer between meals. I think I'm getting close to the sweet spot. I've read most people don't reach their sweet spot until the 4-5 fill. I try to get my fills every 3 weeks b/c I hated bandster hell. Do your best it will come. Barb

I did best when I drank all my Water, walked 30-40 min 6times a week and calasthenics 3x/week. I was eating every 2-3 hours about 900 calories per day. I'm stuck right now around 220. Good luck.I have too many Christmas parties right now,it's messing me all up.
Sweet spot or not?

I think I would call your dr's office and ask them.
I have had about 6 fills. after about my 3 rd one i would feel restriction for about a day my next fill maybe 3 days next fill maybe a week. now i think i am at my sweet spot. i can no longer guzzle Water and if meat is too dry or if i have bread it hurts to go down both are now a no no( gets stuck and i have to pb it up) I really have to chew chew chew and eat slow now. I was hoping i would get full on a very small amount but not so much for me. My fear is that if i have more restriction i will avoid the Proteins I should be eating and eat slider foods and never get full.
Good luck to you, Barb
