  4. you are an inspiration because I am at a point where I think I can't do it.. I know it is emotions.. I am just doing one dat at a time.. I have lost 30.5 pounds since the date of the surgery.. which was June 3. You look wonderful :)

  5. Michele, Thank you very much for your advice. My pre-op appointment is tomorrow! Yeah! I'm going for it!

  6. Chris:

I had the same worries. But if you listen to your band; you'll lose the weight. The band will let you know when it's full; you just have to learn to listen to it. You have to exercise, you have to do the work; but if you work with the band, you'll succeed. Please let me know if you have any further questions, would love to help you as much as I can.

    Michele

  7. Wow!!! You have done a fantastic job!! I am getting banded soon and I am so worried it's not going to work...what if I eat the same way I did before?? Will the band stop me from doing that??? How did it work for you?? Thanks, Chris

    Getting Banded Tomorrow

Congratulations!! You sound like you have so the right attitude and are definately ready for this major change in your life!! You should be so proud of yourself!! I hope all goes well for you. Please keep us posted!! And again, Congratulations!! Michele
  9. I think we all went through those feelings. But to run away; well, that will only get yourself further away from being healthy. I started my weight loss journey 2 1/2 years ago. I was afraid, too. I live in Wisconsin and went to Texas to have my surgery. I was lucky enough to find a FANTASTIC surgeon and I to this day, still fly down there for all my fills. You need to remember, the band is just a tool; it is up to you to use it correctly. But I think you're ready. Bless your little heart; I've been there and now how scarey it is. I started at 305# and now I'm at 127#. I will keep you in my prayers and hope all went well for you!! Michele

    My continuing saga

Well, this is my first blog. I was banded on Jan. 9, 2007. It has now been 2 1/2 years and if I had to do it all over again, I most certainly would!! I was very lucky to find the most caring & compassion surgeon ever!! It was a long trip from Wisconson to San Antonio, Texas, but to this day, I still fly down there for all my fills. When I started my weight loss journey I was 305#, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, was on 2 different types of pain pills for my back and knee and was on a CPAP machine for Sleep Apnea. Now, here I am, 2 1/2 years later and I no longer am on any pain pills, no longer have high blood pressure or high cholesterol and no longer have sleep apnea. I am now 127# and feel the best I have in my entire life. I love life now, enjoy my family more, and now I actually like myself. I love to consult other weight loss patients and am thankful for Dr. Jorge Rincon!! He literally saved my life!! Michele
