I started my weight loss journey in 2007. I was going through the process to be approved for gastric bypass surgery through my insurance company. One month before I would have finished meeting all the criteria, my husband's employer decided to make it a non-covered service. I appealed and appealed a second time but there was no winning in this situation. My personal physician even wrote letters to the president of my husband's company letting them know that if I didn't have this done, I was likely going to die; either from a heart attack or a stroke. I was morbidly obese. After I went through my period of feeling sorry for myself, I decided if this was going to happen I had to make it happen. I started doing internet researches on dozens of weight loss surgeons. I finally found one that I felt comfortable with contacting; it was the best move of my life!! Now mind you, the surgeon I decided on resides in San Antonio, Texas and I live in Wisconsin; but it was the best decision I have ever made. Not only did he agree to take on my case, he helped me with financing, getting a hotel to stay at and even a driver to drive me to my appointments and my surgery. When I first made contact with Dr. Rincon, I was at a high of 305#. Now, here I am, 2 1/2 years later, at a weight of 127#. I am so healthy now. I am no longer on all the pain pills, the high blood pressure medication, the high cholesterol medicatiosn or my CPAP. I am happy, healthy, and forever grateful to Dr. Rincon and his staff for helping me and being supportive to this day. I will now be here to see my three beautiful children grow and hopefully one day have families of their own and to grow old with my husband. I love life now and I enjoy the new me. The happy me. The healthy me.Michele
