  1. Hello all. I feel great. No more nausea or difficulty swallowing. I have lost 14 lbs since surgery. One week ago to day. I really can't believe how good I feel. I haven't taken any pain meds in 3-4 days. My staples are out. I have had a BM and drinking liquids like a maniac. I know my body is different. I don't have food cravings and hardly ever hungry. Having to keep up with Protein is a chore but drinking the powder whey and getting the clear isupure is a big help. I plan on using the Protein Shots in with my pink lemonade or peach diet packets sugar free of course.

I have to more weeks of liquids. I will start my smoothies next week when I get home. Oh, still in Dallas with my sisters recovering. Im driving home to Greenville, MS 6 hours away on Saturday. Have to get out and walk for five minutes every hour.

If any one has some ideas for the mushy stage give me a hola.

    Thanks

  2. Thanks guys, I have phenergan, lortab and achiphex. Things are much better today. Doc was really cute didn't spend much time with me though. That was fine. I liked the doc in hospital and dr Thompson is great. I feel great. No temp and moving along great. So things seem to be going well.

  3. Hello all, my surgery was done on thursday march 18, 2010. Not to bad. The worse thing is the nausea. Its hard to get the required Fluid down. Ive not vomited. But have been sleeping alot. My mission is not to become dehydrated. I see the md next week in office. Im sipping on isupure zero carb 40 g Protein in 20 oz now. Yuck. My surgeon repaired a hiatal hernia and 32g on my sleeve. Im not hungry just made i cant gulp.

The day of surgery i weighted 229. My goal is 150. Im going to change my tracker.

Hope all is well with everyone.

  4. My surgery is March 18th and I have had some of the same concerns. I am excited one minute and scared the next. I am really confident with my surgeon and his staff. But we all question ourselves as time grows closer. I am prayful that everything goes fine. I am a true believer in Jesus Christ and I feel that he has our path already mapped out. We have been blessed with the knowledge to choose this surgery and the MD and be able to pay for it or have the insurance. He could make it so none of it worked together. We all look at things differently but we all need or needed this surgery and will be better, healthier because of it.

I have started my week long liquid diet. I wont have another piece of solid food in my mouth for a month. But It will be worth it. Obesity is a disease we must remember that. Are we willing to fight or sit back and let it take over our lives. I think not. I wish you all well. I will be praying for a speedy recovery for my self and all of you!!!!!!

    Surgery Date March 18,2010

    Lap band 6/2007

    Lap band Removed 9/2009

  5. I know exactly what you are going thru. I had band placed in June 2007 and had nothing but trouble. Either too tight or too loose. Ultimately my band was removed in September 2009. I have gained about 25 lbs and my surgery is scheduled for March 18,2010. I was exercising by but off and trying to watch my intake. I was hungry all the time and eating large portions. The weight kept coming. I have started trying Protein Shake for replacement of one meal. Good luck but It was very hard and discouraging for me. But my day is coming soon and I cant wait.

  7. Hello all,

I have been posting but thought I never introduced myself. I have been overweight most of my adult life. I had lap band done while staying in Memphis,TN in 2007. I got divorced within months and relocated to my home in Greenville that is 3 hours from Memphis. Adjustments were a killer. I am a nurse practitioner and this role was new for me. In other words my 2 years with the band was torture. I was stuck alot and loose some. But lost about 80 - 90 lbs over a year. In September my band slipped and was removed. I have been researching what next. Then decided on the VSG. I am so glad I found this site. Everyone is so helpful. I am scheduled for Dr Wade Baker, Dallas on March 19th . I am self pay but its worth it.

  8. Hello, I have experienced the same thing. My band was removed in September 2009. I started out exercising and lifting weights and watching my diet but gained 20-30 pounds after my band was removed. I am scheduled for sleeve surgery on March 19, 2010 with Dr Wade Baker. Can't wait. I am not able to get back on track after being so angry with the weight gain. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. I feel this is the best decision for me. I have lost almost 100 lbs with band but i was sick with it. I pray this works for me.
